The Deliberate Destruction of a Grandfathered Septic Dry well at a cost of $15,000.00 to Replace! In October 2024 I hired Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Andover to clear a blocked drain pipe and dig up and uncover my Septic Tank and Septic Drywell and pump the tank. Both are as old as the house and grandfathered. Inadequate compared to todays systems however legal under grandfather clause with no permit needed. Under the guise of Safety They destroyed the dry well without my permission . I am seeking a refund of $12,000.00 to replace it . - My plan was to dig it up and clean it up but it was a lost cause- this puts me in a position of having to install a modern leach field at a cost of 9 to 15 thousand dollars vs. a few hundred dollars to to tie the new septic tank with the old dry well with PVC pipe. Thats why they did it- They were setting me up for the next big payment $$ Now they are claiming it was a safety issue that required them to destroy it ! I am demanding a $12,000.00

Benjamin Franklin was great to work with. They were quick to respond to my Angi request. They came the next day to provide a quote for installing our water filter and conditioner. When that was accepted They started the job immediately. The whole project was done within 24 hours of my Angi post. Jaime C. Was our technician. His work was impeccable. We had a little issue - did not ask a lot of questions or do a visual inspection before snaking our shower drain - turns out we should not have done that due to this drum trap we had. Long story short ending up breaking a pipe - but it was all so old we needed to get it replaced anyway. I had to fight for what I thought was right, but at the end of the day they took care of the price and the situation. Overall this company is probably too expensive for their quality of services, but they were very kind and worked hard to fix this situation.

They came on time and after giving the estimate Vinnie was able to install the new water heater. Amazingly he was able to complete the job in 2 hours. I was very pleased start to finish.

Woke up to a flash flood in my basement that never floods. Technician got to my place within an hour of calling and had a new sump pump installed by early afternoon and the water drained out. It was stressful - the water was coming up fast and they dealt with it quickly. The lead technician was professional and courteous.

Consumers need to be aware they will try to upsell you on expensive add-ons that can be done less expensively. You will need to be persistent about pursuing the least expensive option.

Do you not trust them. They did not arrive during the allotted time, lied about the disposal (told me they were installing a special plumbers exclusive disposal when in fact it is sold at Home Depot for less than $110) and charged over $900 for a job that took them only 30 minutes to complete.

John was honest. I knew I needed a new water but he wanted to be sure. He cleaned up after himself.

Arrived on time. Very friendly and outgoing as well as professional. Explained everything he was doing. Very thorough. Reasonably priced for work done. Would absolutely use them again for our plumbing needs.

Matt, AJ, Scott, Vinnie, Charlie all did a terrific job. They installed a gas water heater, installed a shut off on the water heater where there was one missing, replaced a kitchen sink from an old double sink to a new full size sink and in doing so, moved the garbage disposal and re-piped the whole project. They checked other pipes & plumbing and repaired a broken outside water pipe. Tisha in the office was also wonderful - very accommodating, congenial and they are all very customer service oriented. Respectful, honest, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Plumber tackled a tough job with an excellent attitude. He did a terrific job of replacing my bathtub caulking. I had used Flexshot which discolored and was very difficult to remove. He replaced it with white silicone and did a fantastic job.

The Technician was very friendly and arrived when he was supposed to. I'd use these guys again for future work.
