This was the worst work and service anyone could ever receive. Interior Dynamics' owner, Danny Ammons, performed all flooring work personally with the exception of laying the bathroom tile. The prime contractor hired and recommended Interior Dynamics and I foolishly trusted the prime contractor. The first time I met with Mr. Ammons and his wife within five minutes of hearing that I wanted all carpet removed with wood floors installed in the living room, dining room, and hallway, Mr. Ammons recommended engineered flooring. I immediately said no, that I didn't want an engineered product. This was on a Saturday, June 15, 2014. Immediately after viewing the house we went to "their shop and showroom" which they were opening up just for me. Since it was Saturday the shop (IQ Flooring) was closed with no air conditioning. After reviewing the options I selected real wood flooring that was 3/4 inch thick. I was unsure of the color so I requested samples to take home and look at. The Ammons' were very reluctant to give me samples and in some instances made the statement "the girls" (hired help) had not put samples in the proper storage space and they were unable to find what was needed. Eventually I left with samples of different colors that the flooring came in, but I had to return them as soon as possible. I was working out of town the following week and could not return them to the following Friday, June 20, 2014, in the late afternoon. The Ammons' reluctantly agreed to let me take the samples and return them the following Friday. As we were leaving the shop Danny Ammons informed me and the prime contractor we had selected the same Shaw 3/4 inch flooring but in different colors. The following Friday when I walked into IQ Flooring and stated I was returning the samples for Cheryl (Mrs. Ammons) everyone looked at each other then back at me and asked "Who is Cheryl?" I was very embarrassed. But they eventually figured out it was Danny and Cheryl Ammons. I specifically stated to one of the sales people, who took notes, that I wanted the 3/4 inch Shaw flooring in the color "Warm Sunset". The real owner of IQ Flooring was able to provide the correct name of the carpet that I ordered for the house bedrooms. This was on June 20, 2014. (I was eventually told by the owner of IQ Flooring Danny Ammons has a key to his store so that he can pick up materials on the weekends.) After numerous weeks with no response I called the prime contractor to find out why I had not heard from him with an estimate for the remodel of the house. He stated I had not returned the samples and given my choices to the Ammons. Once we got that cleared up and the prime checked with the Ammons' I finally received an estimate for the job on July 12, 2014. My review of the estimate found the correct color of flooring I wanted with some additional product info I did not understand but I thought the price was reasonable for 3/4 inch wood flooring and gave the prime the okay to do all work. Once work started Danny Ammons removed all carpeting in the house which was vacant at the time. They were then supposed to sand and seal the subfloor due to pet odors from previous owners. After the new carpeting had been installed Danny informed me he had not sealed the floors (lots of animals had urinated on the old carpet - this was not a good thing). The floors may have been sanded in places but it was done after the house was painted (this was basically a whole house remodel) because when I was trying to get into the house I had to clean (Interior Dynamics nor the prime cleaned anything) saw dust or some kind of grime off every single surface in the house. Once the heating system was turned on the following winter tons of saw dust again coated every surface. Apparently the Ammons had not covered the vents while sanding the floors. Interior Dynamics installed the flooring before the house had been completely painted so the prime covered the flooring with paper while the remaining work was being done. Although I saw pieces of the flooring at times I never saw the entire floor for some time after it was installed and the Ammons were paid. It took until late September for the Ammons and the prime to finish the entire job. Danny Ammons was in the house daily, at times, appearing to be doing nothing but sitting in my one chair that was in the house. The day the prime contractor informed the painting was complete and the paper had been removed from the floor I was in the house as soon as I could after work. Walking across the wood flooring the flooring would pop on the other side of the room. So loud at times I was startled. I also found a strip of nails down the center of the floor that had been covered in black magic marker and nail holes every where. I immediately called the prime to ask what was wrong with the flooring and asked why there was a strip of nails down the middle of the floor. After investigating I found the Interior Dynamics (Danny and Cheryl Ammons) had installed 1/4 inch engineered flooring instead of the 3/4 inch flooring (at a price comparable to the cost of 3/4 flooring). I also found the padding for the carpet is very thin, not a quality padding, yet the estimate states "deluxe high density" padding) and no carpet pad was installed in the closets. In less than a year the carpet has been peed on by several dogs that have been the house whose owners state their dogs never do that. I believe this is because the floor was not sealed like every reasonably informed person knows that it should be after a pet has soiled the floor and Mr. Ammons quoted he would do in the estimate. When I had the carpets cleaned the padding is so thin you could smell the wet plywood for days due to the thin padding. The engineered flooring installed by the Ammons' splinters in different places every time I swifter it. There are several boards that have cracked or bubble. At the stairwell the flooring is actually curling up and isn't even in contact with the floor any more. The Ammons' told me to buy a Sharpe marker and cover the places where the flooring splintered or is cracked or is pealing with the black Sharpe marker. There are obvious nail holes EVERYWHERE in the wood flooring. The Ammons told me I needed to buy wood putty to fill the nail holes. When I stated the wood putty would only dry up and fall out with no sealer over it, the Ammons' shrugged their shoulders and referred me to the prime contractor. The prime recommended a wax to use to fill the holes. There are hundreds of holes. And the wax also eventually falls out. To maintain this non 3/4 inch flooring I have to constantly fill in places with black Sharpe marker and constantly fill nail holes. The Ammons next solution was for me to buy rugs to cover the flooring. The popping I experienced the first time I walked on the floor occurs all summer long when temperatures are hot (the floor expands due to the heat and "pops" back into place when walked on). I exchanged numerous phone calls and emails with the Ammons' to try and resolve the incorrect flooring having been installed and to get the carpet padding, and sealing of the floors corrected. The Ammons behavior was to make false statements (as in IQ Flooring was "their store", the floor didn't pop when they walked on it, this is the flooring I ordered, various issues are the prime's fault, etc.). They offered no resolution and have been very unpleasant to work with on every phone call and email. I had numerous discussions with the prime contractor. It turns out the Ammons are personal friends of his and he has been no help what so ever. I've discussed with a lawyer the issues I have with the Ammons work and installing a much cheaper product than what was ordered and I was billed for. We determined it could cost as much as new flooring to proceed with a lawsuit. The Ammons also hired another subcontractor to install tile in a bathroom that had previously been carpeted. It took forever for them to order the tile which had to be laid before the carpet could be finished. Then they very unpleasant about having to clean the tile before the grout could be sealed. In the end they only sealed part of the grout and refused to leave the sealer so I could finish cleaning and sealing the tile and finish the job. Bottom line the work performed by Interior Dynamics and Danny Ammons is horrific and I paid a premium price for it. The lawyer I was working with first words were "The work appears very shoddy." Interior Dynamics' web site states in several places "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed". Nothing could be further from the truth. Never use this business or the Ammons through a prime contractor for anything.
