+ 1 moreI would hire Shelly again in a minute. I found her easy to work with, honest, knowledgeable and professional. The crew was that way also. They were very attentive to detail (e.g. trimming landscape fabric so it doesn't show anywhere) and went to lengths to preserve our 40 year old maple and all its roots in the middle of the project!
Description of Work: clear old bushes and ground cover, install pathway, rock, mulch, bushes and irrigation

+ 0 moreWe had work done about one year ago to regrade and install river rock on the slope at the back of our house. Unfortunately, we discovered this spring that the Timberline crew had buried a sprinkler head under the rock (this caused water damage to our cement steps that now have to be replaced). Furthermore the sprinkler box that they moved did not have enough clearance between the lid and the electrical components underneath which caused the electrical components to fail and need to be replaced. Between the steps and replacing the components of the box, we are looking at thousands of dollars of repair. Not recommended.

+ 0 moreJudy the owner, was very prompt in returning my calls, was on time to meet with me about the project, and was very personable and professional. Her work crew was also very prompt and efficient. It took about 5 hours to replace the retaining wall, dig up some turf and add a load of garden soil. Overall I was very pleased with the work, the service, and the price.
Description of Work: I had a retaining wall replaced around a flower bed in my front yard. Also had the flower bed expanded.

Miguel and the crew arrived punctually and worked quickly to remove the old landscaping and install the rock, granite and edging. The result was everything I had hoped for.
Description of Work: Removal of old planter beds, installation of 8 tons of rock and crushed granite in new planter beds and driveway divider.

+ 1 moreShe was great to work with from first contact. Over 20 years we'd tried grass, gravel, brick pavers in various parts of the backyard but none had come together to create a sense of place. Shelly walked the area and listened to me describe my picture for creating a serene place in the middle of this suburban neighborhood. She was very good at asking clarifying questions and offering suggestions. Her crew had a very busy summer so we had to wait about 2 months for the work to be done but when they got there it was amazing. It seemed her crew had half of the backyard pulled out even while I talked with her for a last minute confirmation of things.We used a gray crusher fine to create flow from one side of the yard, around the other side of house and then into the front yard. The path pulls together the various areas of interest - raised vegetable garden, shed, deck, and fire pit. A curved retaining wall and a few well placed flagstones make the shed appear to be a part of the landscape rather than just being set down in a corner. We had a small 3 tier rock garden already built. They built in a small rock, very natural looking water fall over the tiers into rock pit abutted to the gray crusher stones. Shelly was very easy to work with and shared the same goal with us - for the job to be done right. We highly recommend Timberline.

+ 1 moreIt all turned out very well. We are very happy with it. Shelley had some really good suggestions about the design that they did for the big rock border. She was very clear about what they could do. They came on time and they got the work done quickly. It looks great and we are pretty happy with it. They actually got everything done sooner than we thought they might be able to.
Description of Work: I have been using Timberline Gardens Landscaping. The house is on a corner of a cul-de-sac and we had a lot of border rock done all around the walkway. Then they did some other landscaping around the rest of it.

+ -1 moreShelly, the owner of Timberline Landscaping, is one of those few people who actually cares about her customers. We especially fell in love with her dedication to her work. Shelly comes with her crew and not only oversees the actual project, but gets down in the dirt and works her tail off making the landscape perfect, but more importantly, satisfying her customers to the 100th degree!! Every now and then, I have a question about sprinklers or mulch, or how to trim the grasses in the front landscape, and Shelly is just a phone call away. Shelly always answers my questions over the phone. Even when Shelly isn't available, she is one of those rare business owners who returns your phone calls. I would gladly recommend Shelly to my friends and neighbors. Actually, my neighbor directly North of me was so pleased with my landscaping, that they too hired Timberline Landscaping to redesign their front yard. We both get to look at each other's beautiful yards every day. Thank you Shelly for all your hard work - we love what you've done for us!!
Description of Work: My wife and I have hired Shelly with Timberline Landscaping on three different occasions. The first time we hired Shelly was six years ago to landscape the East side of our driveway. Shelly was an expert with ideas to dress up the East side of our driveway and add landscaping that would be easy to care for and added a drip system to water the bushes and flowers that had been added. We were so pleased with the refreshing new look that we decided to have Shelly redesign the West side of our driveway which was the majority of our landscaping. Shelly and her crew worked diligently to carry the same theme and look into the front of our home. Our front landscaping is now a work of art. Many of our neighbors comment how nice our front yard looks and we love the outcome! This review is long overdue because we hired Shelly at Timberline Landscaping to reconfigure our back yard to accommodate a large play ground we had bought for our children. Shelly took the time to come over 3 different times to map out removing our small area of grass and design a large pea gravel playground for our kids. The pea gravel playground is surrounded by large railroad ties and was designed large enough for the kids to play comfortably and not get hurt. My wife and I are so thankful we hired Timberline Landscaping this time because we were just going to "plop" this new playground on top of our little area of grass. I'm so glad we had Shelly out to discuss this because our kids now play safely in the playground and don't track mud and grass into our home. Shelly deserves a BIG THANK YOU for her state of the art design.

+ -1 moreThey had good reviews and I have no doubt that they would have probably done a good job. I had a good experience with them but the price was way too high. They were friendly and good at following up with everything. I found another bid that was less than a third of what they bid. They are a bigger company and so they have more overheads to cover. So their bids are going to be higher. I found another bid that was less than a third of what they bid. He had a family type business. He had a lot less overheads and was able to do it for cheaper. The yard is all done now. It has been highly seeded and hopefully will grow in the next week. I will use Timberline Gardens Landscaping in the future.
