Please avoid this company at all costs. Jerry McKim and his brother Larry (our primary contact) own the business and I have seen it listed under different names. The entire experience was horrible from start to finish. I was told a lie about placing my carpet order ASAP (in early June when it would not be installed until August) before pricing went up. I did so and then was told that I would have to find a place to store my 2600 sf of carpet when it was delivered the next week. I was entirely unable to do so and Larry McKim said that he had a warehouse that would store it for me, no problem. When my actual install was to occur I got a call the night before telling me that my entire order had been LOST. Larry blamed me for ordering it so early (when I did that per his instructions), he blamed my contractor (who was not a part of this process at all), he blamed the carpet company and he raised his voice to me on several occasions. The only person who never took any responsibility for the situation was the one who caused it - Larry McKim. We were dealing with a very stressful remodel and a completely incompetent contractor but this conversation with Larry took the cake for its utter lack of professionalism. We had to push our move-in date back over a week so that new carpet could be ordered and delivered. Larry acted like he was doing me a favor getting the company to put a rush on the order. I gave him strict instructions that 3 rooms were absolute priority for install and needed to be done first. they were the rooms where large furniture was to be placed. I have back problems and knew that I couldn't move it around later and that I would need the movers to place the furniture for me. Larry assured me this would be handled. Day 1 of install I went to the house to check on progress mid-afternoon. No one was there. 3 rooms had carpet pad put down, no carpet - just pad. Guess what? Not one of these rooms was one of my priority rooms. I had to push my move back yet another day and rearrange my work schedule to accommodate. My contractor called me that night and told me that Larry and Jerry were an absolute joke. He said they would work for 15 minutes and take a 30 minute break, repeat, repeat. During these breaks they would wander around my house commenting to each other on different parts of the remodel and generally stick their noses where they didn't belong. He felt that they did around 1 hour of work before leaving my house that day when none of the things were done that were supposed to have been. I told them that my 3 rooms absolutely had to be completed that next day. The rest could wait. They finished the entire rest of the house that day and did the most sloppy, unprofessional job I've seen. Any room you went into if you pulled on the carpet fibers in the middle of the room you could pull the carpet up by over a foot. None of the edges were tacked down so everywhere you walked there was the sound of them pushing down on the tack strips. I contacted Larry to tell him how disappointed I was and I e-mailed him a bunch of pictures. He told me that he wasn't willing to help me and that I was stuck. I offered to postpone my move yet again so that he could return and fix the sloppy install and he told me he was too busy (despite the fact that he'd scheduled the full next day for my install before they chose to throw the carpet down haphazardly). Please, please avoid these guys. They'll offer you cut-rate prices but you truly get what you pay for.
