HORRIBLE PEOPLE - THEY ARE COMPLETE CROOKS!!!!
Description of Work: needed a oven and refrigerator bid, complete idiots - one was the owner! 5 min told me that my water line was broken, used Best Service and it was my refrigerator door. Never got a bid on the oven and they charged me a additional $50. I am out 164.00. The owner hung up the phone on me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!! I am appalled by the owner, Randy, who came over to my house and diagnosed a ice maker problem and ignitor on a range in about 10 minutes. I was never told I would be charged 164.00, and i never got a bid or anything. He claimed my water line was kinked but never moved the fridge. Come to find out, the freezer was not maintaining temperature and was causing issues with the water and ice. I called Randy to discuss and he started screaming at me and hung up the phone.....this is the owner of the business, I have never encountered such a crook and unprofessional person in all my life. Please do not visit this business!!!!!

Warning: DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Jensen Appliance and Refrigeration Service. Heed other warnings in posted reviews. After 6 visits to my home and 2 cancelled appointments, my dishwasher leaks more than ever. I poured $800 into this “repair” at the urging of the owner who gave me a 5 year guarantee on parts and labor (written) and stated he would give me a refund if he could not repair it (verbal). He continued to come out making adjustments after replacing parts on two prior visits. When I called to report the leak continued and asked for a refund, he told me to take him to court and hung up on me. When I drove to the office to gather documentation of all 6 visits, I was told by office staff the court would say you have to give him the opportunity to repair it. I gave him another chance and he cancelled two scheduled appointments! This owner was extremely rude, arrogant and clearly not a man of his word. They may have swindled me out of $800 but I won’t allow them to rob me of any more time, energy, or belief in the honor and good will of most business people. I’ll be filing a report with BBB, sharing on Angi’s list, Yelp, and Nextdoor. Pass on this business. Please share widely. We all deserve better.

This company is the worst! He did repair jobs for me on built in microwave and dryer. The microwave stopped working after a couple of weeks. The drum for dryer lost all of the short screws so doesn’t work. When I called him he said I would have to pay a trip charge. Got in an argument with him and he said his work was only guaranteed for a month. I refused to pay the trip charge, arguing that he needed to come out and fix them. He told me to use another company if I didn’t like it. I have seen countless terrible reviews of Randy. He has had a lot of confrontations, and screams at people and has even locked them out of his business. I would NEVER use him again. He gouges the part prices to ridiculous pricing. He is nasty to deal with. ANY other company would do better than Jensen Appliance and the owner, Randy, who usually is the one who comes to do the jobs. Ps, also left the dryer drum and a huge grease mark on my carpet by the laundry, without a word about it. B TERRIBLE COMPANY, DONT EVER USE THEM!!!!

I’ve always trusted Jensen appliance to fix my appliances. They have fixed my washer, my dryer, my microwave, my oven, and even put a new disposal in for me in over the years. This time they came out and fix my refrigerator. They came out and they were extremely professional.

We were the proud owners of a beautiful 1962 GE Refrigerator. We spent three years trying to find anyone to replace the compressor and we were thrilled to finally find Randy at Jensen Appliance. We hired him and he did a great job replacing the compressor and wiring and paid $1600. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the pandemic, the defrost timer went out on the fridge. Money was tight so when he suggested $800 for a new defrost timer, I volunteered to look for an original part to bring down the price. Apparently, my offer was not received well. After a few months of looking for the part, and failing to find one, we tried to call him back. Unfortunately, he has refused to take our calls. We called his cell multiple times with no response. We called Jensen Appliance and were told a multitude of lies like he was busy or on vacation, etc, etc. We left many, many messages on his cell and at the office to no avail. We did get him on the phone once, said he was busy, but would call us back in 20 minutes. We never heard back. The only time Jensen Appliance cared about us as clients is when we were writing large checks. Today, I had to part with the 1962 GE for $460, a mere pittance in comparison to what we spent with Jensen. I am sitting here writing this review watching the buyer back out of the driveway with tears in my eyes. I had truly hoped Jensen was going to be my go-to for my multiple vintage appliances, but sadly I was wrong. Randy, if you read this, the only thing you deserve is this horrible review and a big middle finger salute! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

Response from JENSEN APPLIANCE & REFRIGERATION
We are so sorry to hear this. We are always in the office and we answer calls personally during business hours. Randy has been out off and of thru the summer but the office is open. He does the bulk of the vintage appliance work, but we can certainly talk to customers here at the office. If we had known here that she was having trouble reaching Randy we would have taken further steps to help, We don't have any problems with a customer helping to find a part. We will gladly install a part for the customer that they find themselves. We're sorry again for the miscommunication.

When Kitchen Aid finally decided to replace my defective oven, they chose Jensen as the people to install it. They sent the oven to them and it apparently arrived within four days of shipping from Kitchen Aid. However, I did not hear anything from Jensen or Kitchen Aid until three weeks later. I called Kitchen Aid to find out when to expect my oven. They called Jensen who said it had been at their shop all that time. They told Kitchen Aid that they had called me, but I never received a call from them. When I finally called them, we were able to set up an appointment for the installation within three days. They did not apologize or even comment on the fact that they had not managed to contact me when they received the oven from Kitchen Aid. The installers were reasonably on time. I had to ask one of them to remove his shoes before he tramped through my entire house from the front door to the kitchen and to suggest to him and his partner to bring the oven in the back instead of carrying it through my living room. The two guys spent an hour or so installing the new oven and whispering to one another about how hard it is on them to have to work in an old house (my home is a vintage 1937 with a brand new kitchen). They did not leave me a receipt for the work or even a business card when they left. The oven seems to work fine. It is a built in, so I hope that all the wires are in the right place, etc. However, after they left, we did notice two large gouges in the kitchen wall where they brought the oven into the kitchen. They did not apologize or even mention this damage to us. Noticing other reviews here and on Google Review, I do not understand how a company stays in business when they are so rude and dismissive of their customers' needs. I would go to great lengths never to use them again.

We made an appointment on Saturday to have the broken icemaker on our 2-year old Sears Kenmore Elite Refrigerator repaired. When the technician (who we later were told was the owner) showed up he eyeballed the icemaker, checked the model number (which we had previously given them over the phone) and told us it was broken, "non-rebuildable" and that we would have to order a whole new unit. He called to check on getting a new one and while he was on the phone we specifically asked him if he would check with Sears. He replied that it was Sears he was talking to. He then told us that Sears did not stock parts for LG refrigerators (the actual manufacturer) in the US and that we would have to waid 6-10 weeks to get one from China, costing $242. He said that because the unit would come from China, we would have to pay the entire bill of $446 (for the part, his service call that day, labor to install and taxes) in advance. Based on what he told us we gave him a check for the full $446. We found it hard to believe that Sears would not stock parts for one of their popular appliances, so right after he left we called Sears Parts Service and, using the part number on the Jensen order form, were told they had 28 in stock and could get one to us in 5-7 days for $142 (exactly $100 less than we had been quoted by the technician. We did not want to wait 6-10 weeks and pay $100 extra, but we could not reach Jensen (neither the store or the technician would answer their phone) to cancel the order, so we felt it best to stop payment on the check so that they would not order the part before listening to a message we left for them. I called their store the following Tuesday morning (Monday was a holiday) to resolve the matter. They said they would have the owner (who as it turns out was the technician who came to our home) call me. When he called me back he was verbally abusive, shouting at me that he wanted his $70 for the service call that same day. I told him I would give it to him but asked for an explanation of why the information he gave me was so different from what Sears told me, nothing more. He screamed at me that I was "calling him a liar" (which I deliberately did not do and told him so). He said the reason his numbers were wrong was that Sears had given him the wrong information when he called them. He further said that he would get a letter from Sears stating that they had given him the wrong information and send it to me. I said that If I saw a letter like that I would drop the matter. I went to their store within an hour after talking to him and paid the $70 charge for the service call. I received a very chilly response from the woman in charge at the store who then told me that he had not really talked to Sears. She said that Sears gave them such lousy service for parts that they always used another supplier. Anyway, Jensen advertises that they service Kenmore appliances so I find it difficult to believe that they would not know about common parts availability. I asked the woman what I had received for a $70 service call since no diagnostics were done and most of what I got was misinformation. She responded "30 years of experience". ( I didn't need 30 years of experience to just be told my icemaker was broken.) I left, telling her I would be waiting to receive the letter stating that the owner had been given the wrong information about the $242 price and the 6-10 week delay to get the part. What I actually received from them a day latter was not a letter, but a "Pick Ticket" form. It was not from Sears. It did not list any price. It did not show a 6-10 week delay and it did not state that the owner had been misinformed. In short it was not at all what I had been promised and proved nothing. I am very supprised disappointed in Jensen because I have bought parts from them for over 20 years and have always been satisfied so I assumed they would also give good service. What a mistake that was! After this episode I will never deal with them again. They were rude, verbally abusive, showed no regard for me as a customer and demonstrated abismal customer service, instead blaming me for problems. After my final contact with them we went on the internet an searched for posts about their customer service. There were a large number of very negative comments, a number of which closely paralled our experience, in particular with regard to rudeness and verbal abuse. I wish I had bothered to do this before I called them. Save yourself a lot of grief and don't call Jensen for appliance service.

We discovered that our 12 year old washer was leaking water onto the floor and into the basement. We called Jensen on recommendation of the plumber who found the leak. Jensen was able to dispatch a repairman, Eric, the next morning. He called as promised to give me a two hour window for arrival and then was actually early. He was here less than an hour when he found the problem. Unfortunately he did not have the part with him, but he had verified it was in stock and promised to return the next day. He called by 9AM to again give me a two hour window and then was actually early. The washer was fixed within 30 minute. EXCELLENT service.

Appointment was easy to get. Technician was on time. Technician was polite, neat, and competent. Repair has worked well. The problem was value for the money. The service call and labor (all within one hour) came to $145. The total with the heating element and tax was $240.76. This wasn't rocket science or brain surgery and wasn't worth the money.

The appointment was scheduled from 3:30-5:00 and at 5:30 repair mechanic called to say he was running a little late and would be there at 6:15. I had to leave work and hour and 15 min. early to make it home by 3:30 simply for the mechanic to be and hour and 15 min late. I called the office right at 5:00 and had to leave a message. We feel this is very unprofessional and are particularly un-happy with the fact that he was in our home for 9 minutes and charged us $70.00. The full price for the evaluation. No apology for being late or offer to discount the service fee. In the end the parts and labor was estimated to be $492.80 which is more than the cost of a new washer. We waited 2 hours and 45 minutes as if our time isn't worth anything. It appears as though these smaller stores schedule these appointments and charge an outrageous amount for the evaluation and have bogus estimates knowing that the amount would be more than the cost of a new washer, only to walk out the door after a few minutes evaluation. I suggest to all Angie's list members to use a more reputable company. If you are to use this company, BE WARE.

We were not pleased with them. That might have been when we joined Angie's List. They were here, seriously, about 10 minutes and charged us $250. It was not the cost of the part; I just felt like it was a big overcharge. I will not use them again.

I called Jensen because of positive reports on Angies List. I needed the plastic soap dispenser on the diswasher replaced. That took two trips, and they suggested I replace a door spring. That was a third trip. They didn't seal the soap dish properly, so the dishwasher leaked. That took another trip. Since it had taken four trips for a simple soap dish, they offered to replace another part for free, but when the service person arrived for that, he wanted to charge us. They will not be in my home again.

they had to come twice. the noise i originally called about started happening 10 minutes after the first tech left. another tech came by to replace the part. things seemed good for a week or so, but started hearing the noise again. had them come back out and now they think the compressor itself needs to be replaced. we're still deciding what to do - replace the compressor ($600 part), or just buy a new refrigerator.

Called Jensen and they were able to come same day to try and diagnose/fix. They were punctual and quick to diagnose problem, there was an explanation from the tech but it didn't make much sense in terms of my understanding of electronics. The part he fitted did work but I can't help not being 100% happy and feeling overcharged. I paid a call out fee of $65, then a part fee of $85, then a labor fee of $120 to fit the part. The part looked like a relay and his whole visit took 30 mins, so the part fee and the labor fee seem excessive. I paid and didn't complain - why? Because it's Thanksgiving week, my refrigerator was busted, they came when they said they would and they fixed it. I could have called someone else and he could have had to order the part and I could have had no refrigerator for a week. So I should be happy and dishing out A's all over, but I just feel that their approach lacks integrity, ultimately. Will I use them again? Maybe. But not until I have tried someone else and see if I can't find what feels right in terms of the balance of price and service.

I called and they said they could come out the next day, probably in the morning. I called them at 10:30 the next day and she was completely short with me. She told me they would be out in the afternoon and even though I called back 3 other times, they didn't show up until 5:15. Their hold music asked me to tell them how they're doing, and when I tried to do that, she was terrible! She made it seem like it was my fault. I don't think I'll use them again unless I have a complete emergency. It wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have to wait around all day.

Sometimes I feel so vulnerable and defensive when dealing with the trades. The concern of being ripped off is so prevelant. Jensen arrived on time, and went right to work. Jensen didn't over charge, or perform unnecessary work. The young service man explained everything, answered all my questions, and was very professional and polite. He was at the house for less than 20 minutes and had the fridge up and running in just a few minutes. What a relief. It was a real pleasure to deal with Jensen. I would recommend Jensen to anyone, and everyone.
