My condo was built in Sep of 2009 and Clanton performed the a/c unit installation. After having only used the brand new a/c unit for about month it quit working on me. I spent about $100 in electricity usage due to my unit running for 2 days straight without cooling my condo down. The first day I came home and realized it was 85 degrees in my place while my t-stat was set to 76, I called the technician right away. He told me they would be there by 8am the next morning. They were an hour late. Which I work as well, so I didn't have time to sit around and wait for them to show up whenever they felt like it when they gave me a specific time they would show up. They took a 2 minute look at my unit and told me there wasn't enough refrigerant in it. Filled it up and left. When I came home that night, I found out that amazingly my unit STILL wasn't working. And had been running all day again. I called the technician and they came over again that night (I wasn't about to spend the night in a place that was 85 degrees for 2 nights in a row). They were there for about 2-3 hours this time and finally the technician (who struggled in communicating to me due to his lack of English) showed me that there was debris found in the copper line of the indoor unit. They left without providing any paperwork of what was performed on my unit. Thankfully, I used to work for an a/c company in AZ and I contacted them to find out what the findings of my unit meant. They told me whenever debris is found in the copper line that signifies that the vacuum pump was not performed during install (which is an EPA requirement!) and could cause lots of future problems such as extra service calls, failure of compressor far earlier than what should be expected, etc. I asked the office administrator to send me a copy of the performance work completed on my (which took a couple of weeks to receive). Once I finally received it I forwarded it to the owner of the company as proof of the debris that was found, along with detailed instructions of what needed to happen next due to their incompetence of properly installing the unit. To which he stated the paperwork I finally did receive was just an overview of what they normally look at and they did not have any records of what was actually performed on my unit. And ultimately refused to do the right thing and ensure their install was performed to EPA guidelines.
Description of Work: Fix the air conditioning unit that they installed incorrectly in my new condo.

I was very impressed with Clanton Brothers' promptness, professionalism, and willingness to explain what we needed to do to keep our heater and air conditioner units running well.
Description of Work: Clanton Brothers was the company our home's builder used to install the air conditioner and heating. When we moved into our new house, the air conditioner was not working. I called Clanton Brothers late on a Friday afternoon and they had one of the Clanton brothers (don't remember his name) out on Saturday morning. He confirmed that the air conditioner was OK but there was a problem with the amount of electricity being transferred to the unit. So, in the end, we needed to contact our builder's electrical company to get the unit running again.
