+ -1 moreThe work was completed on the day scheduled and everything looked great when they left, you could not tell they had been there if you walked by. However the next day a hole in the lawn ( about one foot deep and wide) was evident at the house end. They responded and filled the hole, but it reappeared. As we looked for the problem, we discovered that a landscape pin had been replaced poking a hole in an irrigation pipe, creating a fountain when the system turned on (at night). This was causing the hole. Once we discovered this, they fixed the problem and everything works great now.
Description of Work: Apex gave us a quick and reasonable estimate to replace the clay pipe sewer line from the house to the sidewalk, and explained exactly what they would do and how they would do it. We had considered lining the pipe to exclude roots as suggested by a more marketing oriented service, but decided we wanted to start over with a level pipe (at less than half the price, BTW).

They did the work as promised and in a timely (1.5 day) manner. They did have to reschedule for a couple of days later because their pipe bursting machine was down - but they called the day before to let me know.

I had originally given a lower rating for APEX Plumbing and was contacted by them to discuss some of the issues involving the replacement of our water line. I had originally stated that APEX used a sub contractor which after speaking with a rep. from APEX, is not the case. Also, the time frame was explained to me by the rep. I appreciated the call from APEX and discussion which clarified the previous issues and have since upgraded my rating.

+ -1 moreOverall, we have water and the hole in the yard is finally filled in. The time frame and communication with Apex are not impressive. If you need a job done quickly, and expect good communication with the contractor, I would not recommend Apex.
Description of Work: Our exterior water line broke the first week of June. We called Apex and they sent a person out the next day to assess the break and provide an estimate. They scheduled the repair for 4 days later which is a long time to be without water. The initial plan was to replace the water line using a trenchless method. A sub-contractor showed up in an unmarked van as scheduled, 4 days later and began the water line replacement. As they were beginning to run the new pipe, an inspector came by and discovered that the plumber was about to run the wrong size pipe--the gauge was too thin. Work came to a halt while the sub-contractor left to buy the correct pipe. After obtaining the correct gauge pipe, they began to thread it from the water meter to the house. About half way to the house, the pipe got stuck so the plumbers dug a very large, grave size hole to find the source of the blockage. Water to our house was restored by the end of the day. We are now 5 days out after the repair and no one has come back to fill in the hole or to collect the other half of their payment. ( I gave them a D on punctuality because we are currently 5 days out from the repair date (10 days after contacting Apex) and still have a hole in the yard .) We called today and asked if anyone was going to fill in the hole and a crew showed up to finish the job a few hours later.

+ 1 moreI don't think I would recommend them. I'm going to build a garage and the city requires heavy duty plumbing under the garage and they came out and didn't bring any with them. I specifically hired them for that and I had to tell them twice to do it. If hadn't been here to watch them they would have buried sub-grade and nobody would have known.

+ 1 moreWe hired Apex Plumbing to clean out our main drain that had been backing up frequently over the last several years. We knew that it was time to replace it but first needed it cleaned out yet again. The serviceman was prompt and very courteous. We then had the main drain scoped so that we could get an estimate on the replacement. They provided the estimate very quickly and credited my cleanout fee toward the replacement cost. In addition,we were able to use the coupon on Angie's List to save a little extra on the job. When we scheduled the job they were very professional and showed up as promised. We opted for the burst pipe drain replacement (trenchless) and the job was completed in one day. This is a huge job and did leave a little yard carnage but nothing compared to some of my neighbors' yards that have gone with the traditional trench line replacement. We are very pleased with the work and would highly recommend Apex Plumbing!

I probably spent $400 for both the jobs. They were professional, knowledgeable and did a good job. I would use them again in the future.

Keith came up on short notice and quickly diagnosed the problem as a typical kitchen clog and cleared the line. Both times I've used Apex Plumbing I've been very impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness. AND their prices are reasonable.

The line ran underneath a room that had recently been remodeled, and we did not want to have to dig a trench through the middle of the room. Out of the six companies that bid the project, APEX was the only company to come up with a creative solution that allowed us to preserve the room. They completed the work on time, and were very reasonably priced.

+ 2 moreI looked at other jobs that they did. I didn't get a bunch of bids, but hearing from friends and what it normally costs, I would say the price was reasonable. They got the job done as quickly as they could. They called me when they had a cancellation. They were booked for the week, but were good about calling me and doing it as soon as possible. The guy that came out spent about 3 hours in the cold.
Description of Work: I used Apex Plumbing for plumbing work. They had to replace a pipe. On the outlet side they had to take a couple pieces of my stone patio. They removed a piece of pipe and then replaced it. They had to dig 3-4 feet. They fixed the patio.

+ 0 moreWe used Apex for some small interior plumbing problems, including capping a leaking shower and repairing a sewer drain. Keith always did a good job and generally came when he said he would. There were some minor communication issues between us, him, and the administrative assistant at Apex, but they were always resolved. We also used Apex for replacing a lead water main to our house with copper. We received multiple quotes before choosing them, and they were at or below all of them. The crew that came did a great job. They had some big problems getting the line out using their standard methods and ended up having to stay many hours past when they intended to use other techniques. The foreman for the project was very good with updating us and apologizing for the delay. At one point, we saw the absolute mess in our basement - but there was hardly any evidence they had been there by the time they came back the next day to clean up. I anticipate we will be using them for any future plumbing needs.

Before having the work completed, we secured three bids. $2400.00, $800.00 and Apex came in at $400.00. I was sure that each of the companies weren't comparing apples to apples so I called each of them to verify. Surprisingly, the bids were indeed for the same scope of work and Apex was (as you can see) significantly less. I decided to give them a try and I have to say, they were professional, punctual, friendly and informative. The job was completed on time and without any issues whatsoever. I will now call Apex for all of my plumbing needs.

+ -1 moreThis was a unique situation in that the prior owner had replaced the Copper Water Line with irrigation piping that did not follow the water line path shown on the water companies records. The routing of the existing line was in question as it was not entering the property at a 'right angle' to the curb nor home. We agreed to start the excavation at the meter and trace back to the home. The labor for the most part was not able to speak English, and arrived at the work site before their supervision and started to excavate from the home end (where the water line did NOT enter the home). After their supervision arrived, there was obvious confusion to the routing of the water line (which could have been avoided if they started at the meter end of the line as originally agreed/planned), and instruments were applied to electronically try to locate the plastic pipe, with marginal results. All in all the job got done, but excessive digging resulted which would have been avoided if the supervision arrived with the non English speaking work crew and the original plan to start digging at the meter was followed.

+ -1 moreThis company replaced a sewer line in the yard of a home we were buying. Amazingly, the yard looked great afterwards - no torn up grass, no damage to the fence, no crushed flowe beds. And their quote, which was the lowest of the three recieved, noted that if any sprinkler lines were cut in the process of installing the new sewer, they'd take responsibility for fixing these. These guys get it that you don't want your yard to look like a war zone when they're done.

The quote included all of the areas of concern: Identified the specific work and locations, detailed when it would be completed, stated that the work would be permitted and that expense was itemized in the quote, and stated that the concrete, pavement and landscape would be restored at this fee. They didn't deviate in any way from their promises to us. You will also love their office manager/scheduler who lives to make you happy with their work. She's a top notch communicator.
Description of Work: I am a realtor - My seller lives out of state and the inspection identified the need for a sewer line replacement. Out of 5 vendors contacted, Apex responded first, most thorougly, least expensively and communicated with me and the seller from start to finish, they did it on the day they said, completed the work and cleaned up 2 out of the five estimates were more than twice what Apex quoted

+ 0 moreIf you have a plumbing job that looks as though it may require excavation, you must call these guys! I had gotten several estimates to have my sewer line replaced the old fashioned way -- by digging up the entire line, from my house to the sidewalk. The estimates that I received were between $6,500 and $9,300 and in each case, I would have been left with a pile of mud, a destroyed sprinkler system, a half-missing front walkway and possibly a jackhammered front porch. The technology that these guys use allows them to replace the pipe with almost no visible affect on the yard. So not only do you save a ton on the job itself, but you don't have to do all the landscaping work that could add another 50% to the final cost. If it sounds too good to be true, there's a 5 year warranty on parts on labor. And they're a pleasure to work with. Here's all you need to know: if your line backs up between when you hire them and when they can get the job done, they'll snake it for free. Amazing.
Description of Work: Replaced sanitary sewer line using trenchless pipe replacement technology. This required them to jackhammer a small portion of our basement and to dig a small hole in our front yard, both of which they repaired. They also put clean out access to our sewer line in the front yard.
