 + 0 moreOwner (Chetan) came to my house to discuss the project. Was prompt, professional and helpful. Provided detailed estimate several days later. Upon acceptance of the bid, a service tech came over for exact measurements. It took about two months for the doors to be built. The installation took one day - the installer was very good, did an excellent job of properly installing and fitting the doors, closer, all trim and hardware. One of the screens was left off the original order and was delivered in a few days. The doors are of excellent style and quality. Good quality wrought iron security doors are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Our front door is oversized so it was more expensive than a standard size. Was very impressed with the overall service and quality of this company.

 + -1 moreWe were seeking bids for three wrought iron gates in an upscale community. The representative from Artistic Iron arrived on timefor an appointment. She spent nearly an hour measuring and discussing our needs. Frankly, she was quite impressive. However, we never received a bid and our calls requesting the bid and further information were never returned.

Description of Work: We had one of the owners come out to do an estimate after I had found pictures of their beautiful product online. He was absolutely professional and punctual with his visit to measure and discuss preferences with me at our home. Unfortunately, the quote that was given (over $5000 for a 1/2 staircase) was way out of the ballpark for us, as I had been thinking to spend around $1000 on the project. This is a company that probably best suited to wealthy homes. Unfortunately, we had to turn down this company as an option.

 + -1 moreThe door is well built and a great value, especially for a custom size. Door hardware is of good quality to support a heavy door. There is no reason to purchase a mass produced door from a chain hardware store, you will get a much better product and it included the cost of installation. The installation was professionally completed and the door looks great and functions as designed.

 + -1 moreArtistic Iron has a very unique product, steel rails vs iron, which was very beautiful. Thhey were prompt and brought a large selection of photos from past projects. We decided to go with classic wrought iron as it matched the security doors and othe iron on the property.
Description of Work: We got an estimate to replace the porch railing and add hand rails to two staircases in our front yard.

 + -1 moreOne of the worst experiences I have had with a contractor.
Description of Work: The first week of January I contracted with Artistic Iron to custom make an Arbor for a garden entrance. They said they would have it installed within 6 weeks. After 6 weeks elapsed, I called (having never been called that there was a problem) and they said they were still waiting on mesh wiring to go around the arbor but that it was completed except for that. At 2 months time I went to the office only to be told that they were still waiting on the wiring (not true I found out later and the the mesh was very commonly purchased around Denver). So I said I wanted to see what they had completed and the office manager went with me to the shop at the same location. I found that for 2 months they had half of my money and they had not done anything and no one in the shop knew anything about the job. So the owner called me the next day (1st phone call) and said he would be willing to cancel the job or do it by the 3rd week in March which I agreed to. Before they installed they wanted to make sure I was going to pay that same day or I would be harassed endlessly. (a threat?) Job is done and they are paid. Arbor is not plumb (leans a little), was supposed to be dull black powder coat but got shiney black epoxy coating but I'm glad to be rid of dealing with this company. Buyer beware !!!

 + -1 moreI called Artistic Iron for a quote and scheduled a rep to come to our house to give us an estimate. He came on time with door styles and iron coloring samples. Since they were reasonable and comparable to some other places I called we signed an agreement. The rep said it would be about a month until installation. I had seen on Craigslist that one member had trouble with a delay in installation, so I put down as little as possible on the deposit. 6 weeks later, we still hadn't received a call to schedule the door installation. I called the rep and the office several times. They were pleasant and said it would probably be next week - 3 weeks in a row! I would have rather been told that the doors would be installed in two months then have to keep initiating calls to the company. Once they did schedule the installation, the technician showed up on time and was very professional. He did a thorough job of placing the frame correctly in a old, warped doorway. The door looks great. I would recommend this company but keep in mind that the installation time my be double what is promised.
Description of Work: Artistic Iron replaced the existing flimsy door with a solid, wrought iron security door on our house.

 + 0 moreI was told the door would be installed four to six weeks from the contract date. The installation was completed yesterday, ten weeks from the contract date. Even getting this required my calling three times. They offered no apologies and no explanations for the delay. It would have been completed three rather than four weeks late, but the door that was installed was not equipped as agreed in the contract. Were it not for the professionalism of the installer, who made sure that they delivered as promised, I would have given this company lower grades.
Description of Work: Built and installed an iron storm/security door to replace a standard size screen door.

 + -1 moreThe office worked with me to set a time when the estimator could come out. He came out after 5:00 pm on a weeknight and arrived on time. The estimator was very thorough in explaining options available and their costs. After receiving estimates from another company, I went with Artistic because the quality of their security doors was higher and the price was comparable. Artistic worked with me to find a time convenient to me for measuring the existing doors after I signed a contract with them. They finished the doors, including the custom door, within the time they said. The installer was great. Very thorough, did a great job making sure the seals on the storm doors were tight but that the doors were easy to open and close. He even installed another lock for me without charge (I bought the lock separately) and rekeyed it to match the storm door. I'd DEFINITELY recommend Artistic!!!
Description of Work: Artistic installed 3 wrought iron security storm doors. 2 of the doors were normal size. 1 was an oversize door and a custom job. All 3 doors have two security glass panels. One panel is removable and can be switched out with a screen panel (also included). All doors included security deadbolts (keyed on both sides) and very nice (matching) brushed chrome door handles (I selected upgraded hardware, which was included in the $1700 price). I chose an iron design that was a little fancier than the plain design. The installer made sure that the seals on the storm doors were tight, but that the doors were easy to open and close. I no longer had the key to my basement door (1 of the 3 doors), so I removed the old lock and bought a new one. The installer installed the new lock without charge and rekeyed it to match the key on the storm door lock. He then cleaned up completely before leaving. The area was actually cleaner after he left than before he arrived.

 + -1 moreAthena, the marketing representative, came to the house on June 8, 2006, to provide an estimate. We had an ad from a competing company which include instalation in their price. She matched the competion's price for, what we think, is a better quality door. She gave us a delivery date of 30 days. We signed the contract and paid 50%. The installer called and we set an installation date of July 5. He arrived early, which was not a problem. It took him approximately four hours to remove the old doors and install the new doors. He cleaned the glass on the new doors and cleaned up where he had been working including sweeping up metal chips from drilling, etc. He hauled off the old doors for recycling. We paid the remaining 50%. The doors have been in constant use for almost a year now. There have been no problems with either the doors, the locks or the installation.
Description of Work: Manufacture and install two (2) steel security storm doors to replace two (2)solid core storm doors. New doors include two (2) removable glass panels and one (1) removable screen panel. A locking lever door latch and a deadbolt lock were included with each door.
