Job was never completed and what was done was incorrectly installed. Filed law suit, went to court, 2 years later, won case. Now is appeal court because Todd Butler did not like that I won and did not like the judgment and the ruling.
Description of Work: Hired Todd Butler to reroof home and new roof on garage/shop. Was to include copper gutters and downspouts.

Our company paid Todd Butler $118,00 for a TPO roof in Fruita, Co. The Exxon Gasoline station by Interstate 70 with Starvin Arvins inside. He quoted, committed to a TPO roof. He is either dumb, sloppy or a total fraud or all of the above. He quoted a price 30% below other roofing contractors. But along the way.....i quickly learned having Old School Roofing or Todd Butler as a roofer is like baby sitting a toddler. Non-commital and generally full of bull....well, you know. Multiple times i had to call him and tell him, "you have had my money for 4 months, when is the work starting?". Don't use a company for a roof replacement if Todd Butler is involved. He is incapable of honesty and will cut corners every chance he gets. Our $118,00 roof, which he was paid in full for in November of 2022...has multiple leaks, and we are in the process of refabricating it currently with a different contractor.
Description of Work: Needed a total roof replacement for a 9,000 square foot commercial retail building. Was contracted in June 2022, work did not begin until october 2024.

I would like to know how Todd Butler sleeps at night! His company did sloppy work for my elderly mom several years ago, when confronted about it she was told he would be out to address the issues. To this day , he hasn't honored his word! He was specifically told to use plywood, which my mom was billed for and paid an extra $350.00 dollars for. Todd took complete advantage of her, took her money and installed osb board instead. And NEVER refunded her her money! He never completed the permit process to this day and now she is being threatened with a lien against her property at the age of 87 years old by Mesa County, as well as being held accountable for all parts of his job that is found unexceptable. Several family members have tried to resolve this issue but he refuses to take our calls or respond to any messages. My mom finally received a call from Todd a few days ago stating that he would show up the following day with an inspector, but once again, he NEVER showed up, called her or honored his word! She now has to pay Mesa County for a permit and inspection out of her limited income and pray that they won't demand additional improvements in order to pass the inspection! Old school roofing should pay her back the $350.00 that she was billed for plywood, which "WAS NOT USED" along with "ALL" other expenses she endures! I would "NEVER" recommend hiring Old school roofing to anyone!!!!!

Worst experience hiring someone ever. They completely botched our house. Tar and gravel running into the new copper gutters that are twisted and warped. It's he'll dealing with this business. Todd Butler is a liar and a cheat. He should not be in business.

During the project, Todd Butler, the owner, and his crew were courteous and polite. Todd did cut some corners during the installation that I noticed: He promised to use ice and water shield in the valleys but when I came home one day from work I noticed that he cut the roll in half and only used half the width for each valley. During install I also noticed that he did not use step flashing technique, nor did he apply sealant in a stepped fashion when applying shingles next to walls or a structures such as a chimney or swamp cooler jacks. Other than this, it appeared to look ok. They did a good job cleaning up except for debris that fell into the attic from the tear-off. This was in September of 2012. In exactly a year we had water running into our kitchen. Water was coming through nail holes that were not properly sealed on the swamp cooler jack. Todd came over and sealed the leaking swamp cooler jack with some sealant that he toweled on. This was only a temporary fix and he promised he would come and fix it properly in the spring. During that winter a second leak occurred over our front porch. That section is a flat roof and was re-roofed with TPO. He stated that he came over and water tested the area and could not find the leak. After this second leak I had a home inspector and a few different qualified roofers inspect the roof and it was unanimously concluded the installation was done with improper techniques and shoddy workmanship. I have tried to meet with Todd but he usually does not call me back and one time when he promised to meet up with me he didn't show up. To sum this up without going into excruciating detail; there are many parts of my roof that are unacceptable: water is leaking behind my gutters and possibly other places due to improperly installed drip-edge. He never came back to reset my swamp cooler. Many sections of the TPO roofs are peeling up, especially around my wood-stove flu. He reused most of the original flashing that was on the roof instead of fabricating new pieces and spending the time to do things right. There are now many holes and openings where rain and weather can enter the structure of he house due to his shoddy flashing. There are other issues, but I am sure I have said enough here.
Description of Work: Tear off of existing roof, addition of OSB in some areas and addition of shingled roof as well as two flat roof sections.

He has been around the valley for many years. He was the only one bidding on this type of roof so I have no price comparison. I am getting up in years and I wanted a roof that will last 20 or 30 years and a built up roof will do that. I was looking for long term durability and not necessarily price.
Description of Work: I used Bob Butler of Old School Roofing to put on a built up tar and gravel roof on our residence.
