As we bought a home, we were recommended Drain Brain by our realtor to send a camera down our sewer line since the sellers stated they had to clean it out ever 8-10 months. He removed the toilet in our basement and sent the camera down. He told us that we would either need to continue cleaning it like this (removing toilet and doing it every 8-10 months), redoing the sewer for $10K+, or we could install ports in the yard outside for a more efficient cleaning and do it 2-3 years for $2,000. We opted to go with the $2,000 option. He informed us that they would tear up our yard, but they would put it back together with sod, etc. I arrived to the house to view the work after my husband was told it was completed. A massive mound of dirt and torn up sod took up a large portion of our yard. There were dirt track marks all over our basement carpet leading to the toilet. The ports were open with no covers. We have a dog, so this wasn't okay. I called my realtor who stopped by and was also amazed. She called her contact, and a few days after, tops were put on the ports. However, he then told us he couldn't re-landscape until the Spring (not told this initially, obviously). Spring came along, and we took him up on the re-sod. He came with a teeny little bit of grass and put it down in about 1/3rd of the spot without anything under it. He told us to water it, and it would grow. This was obviously being cheap, so we just raised the sod back and planted seeds/ more sod where we needed to cover his work. So, after 6 months of this port installed, I noticed water around the washer in our basement. It turned out to be an overflown sewer. We called him and a plumber. The plumber was amazed that it overflowed so soon and said he probably didn't clean it out properly. Drain Brain wanted to charge us a crazy amount to clean it out (on top of the $8,000 we needed to spend on cleaning up the water in the basement and re-doing the carpet). I am pregnant, so this was even worse that I had been working down there with the sewer water. We talked him down to the price of everyone else who does this. It took me 5 days to send someone. The guy who came was also amazed it had only been 6 months. He seemed to believe that it wasn't cleaned initially. So, more or less, use them for the camera if you so desire (though Its Done does this too for a more reasonable and honest price). However, do not listen to his recommendations and certainly don't have him put anything in.
Description of Work: He checked our sewers for house inspection, gave us recommendations, installed sewer ports outside our house for cleaning, and cleaned out the sewer.
