Nathan and his team at Blue Mesa are outstanding. Our AC unit went out a few days ago and Nathan was the only contractor willing to come out to help beat the heat. Most other contractors quoted a two-week or longer wait time. Nathan was honest and open about the issues and gave a cost-effective and fair quote for his service. I will definitely recommend Blue Mesa to friends and family for any Heating or Cooling needs!

Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating & Cooling gets a very poor review because Nathan McComis, the president, didn’t take my complaint seriously; he blew it off. When a furnace is supposed to be repaired, this means the entire problem, not just one aspect of it. He was hired by my condo’s property management to repair the furnace because it had stopped producing heat. When I saw the Blue Mountain van outdoors one day, I went outside to the common room where the furnace was, and pleasantly introduced myself to Nathan who was already with an HOA member. I said that the furnace – even though it wasn’t producing heat – had been long-term causing a rather high-pitched hum to reverberate through my unit’s walls. I pointed out that I could hear the hum as we stood by the furnace. Nathan listened and admitted that he, too, could hear it. I also informed him that it was actually louder, somehow amplified, in my unit. He said his visit that day was just to assess things, but that on his next visit, he’d investigate the humming. I said he was welcome to come into my unit to hear exactly what I’m hearing, and he was amenable to that and said to “contact the HOA” to find out when his second visit would be scheduled. The next day I contacted the property management and only mentioned that Nathan may need to access my unit which was why I wanted to know the second visit date. A few days later property management, after speaking to Nathing, informed me that Nathan denied hearing any humming. A few weeks later when I saw his van outside (second visit), I went to the furnace room and pretended I was not aware of Nathan’s lie. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I simply asked if he could fix the noise and that he was welcome to come into my unit. I also reaffirmed that the noise was clearly coming from the furnace because when the panel switch to the heating system was flipped off, the noise would instantly stop. I demonstrated this. He said he was there that day only to fix the heat, but that I could seek approval from the HOA for him to make a third trip out there inside my unit. I pointed out that if the HOA didn’t approve of this, that I’d happily pay him out of pocket in cash. He said that if I didn’t hear from the HOA in a week, to contact him. After not hearing anything from the property management/HOA, I left a message on his voice mail and encouraged him to text me. No response. I left two more messages over 10 days; no response. Now, even if he was super busy and booked way out, this was still no excuse for not taking one single minute to call me back or text me, even if it was to say, “Hey, got your message; I’m booked solid for two months but we can still schedule something for February.” Instead, my impression is that Nathan McComis of Blue Mountain Heating is not reliable. My smartphone shows no record that he ever returned my neutral-toned messages. When someone is hired to repair a furnace, they should repair ALL the problems, not just some of them. I would never recommend Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating and Cooling because Nathan McComis has proven that he does only incomplete work, and blows off any other complaints. Yes, I have heat now, but I also still have the near-continuous thick-pitched tone in my walls, which a homeowner should not be subjected to. I told Nathan that I can’t tune this out any more than HE’D be able to tune out a foul odor. I have no idea why Nathan refused to pursue this (remember, I offered to pay out of pocket), but maybe it’s because Blue Mountain Heating doesn’t like working with women?

Fraudulent Review! This person is not my customer. I work for the Home Owners Association for the building she lives [Member Information Removed]. There is a central heat system that the HOA is responsible for and hired me to fix an issue [Member Information Removed] the boiler itself. This person complained about a high pitch noise that previous contractors have not been able to hear or fix. While working on the boiler this person came [Member Information Removed] and asked if I could look into this issue. I told her that if her HOA would set up an appointment I could look into it but she said she had problems with her HOA and wasn't sure they would do this. I was then told by her HOA that she had caused issues previously and advised me to not do anything about the noise. [Member Name Removed] tried to get them to set an appointment but was unsuccessful. She then tried to call me direct and I would not respond because I was told by her HOA not to. Apparently I'm a contractor who can't do his job, I'm a liar and I don't service women! It's my opinion that if she wants to be mad at someone she needs to take this up with her HOA company. Instead she wants to slander my small company even though her HOA is responsible for her heat system and repairs.

My system set up was not working with my Nest Thermostat. Nathan came out and isolated the issue and was able to make the proper connections. He was immediately responsive to my phone call and scheduled me in that morning. Very professional and I will be using him for my HVAC needs in the future!
