Greg came to the house and described the process step-by-step. He urged us to consider an ice and water shield between the plywood and the shingles...a $1700 extra. No other roofer even mentioned it. After thoroughly researching this product, and all the rave reviews, we decided to add it. I think we are going to be thankful we did, The whole process was very transparent from replacing any rotted plywood (which we did not have to do), to the special attention given to valleys and other areas where snow and ice tend to cause problems. I was concerned about his crew starting the job, then leaving to do other jobs, dragging the whole process out. This way of doing business is endemic in this valley. Once they get your deposit, the schedule goes out the window. Greg assured me that there would be three on the crew and his lead guy had been with him for 15 years, and he would see the job from start to finish uninterrupted. He required half down and the other half at completion. I can't emphasize enough how professional his crew was. They put in three long days, all three were total gentlemen. At the end of each day, they were meticulous about cleaning up, to the point of walking around the house with a large magnet to pick up any stray nails that may have fallen. Mullenax Roofing is not the cheapest, but they are totally honest, efficient, and professional. The roof looks great, and I am very pleased. He did get a building permit, and the inspector who came over at the end of the job commented about what a good job it was. I can recommend Mulllenax Rooofing Unqualifiedly.
Description of Work: Our roof was 35 years old, leaky, and missing shingles and looked shabby. We live at 7000 feet and the winters are brutal. We decided to bite the bullet, and put on an entire new roof. We had a lot of trepidations since roofing for most people is a blind article. Very few get up on the roof and follow the construction in the same way we might follow a kitchen restoration. Also, we had heard horror stories about roof installations and all the scams out there. We got three bids ranging from $14000 to $22,000. Enter Greg Mullenax.
