This company never completed any work. None. However, we paid this company $50,000.00 to order materials and the company also collected over $214,000.00 from our insurance company. Our insurance company ultimately reimbursed us the $50,000.00 and sued this company, Allstar Exteriors, to reclaim all funds lost. The owner of this company, Brian Mater, also worked for another roofing company, Drury Roofing, in Colorado Springs. Brian embezzled money from Drury Roofing's company checks. We will never use this company or work with Brian Mater in the future.
Description of Work: We hired this company to install a new roof and to also complete foundation repairs for our commercial building.

These people are the poster children for nightmare storm chasers. They appeared after a hail storm swept through in late 2011. The initial contact for the company who prepared the contract disappeared to Texas soon after the signing. The principles for the company are James Brian Mater and Deena Hunt. Sometimes listed as owner, employees, president and VP, etc. - it varies. The company may be listed as either Incorporated or an LLC. Most everything on the house was better off before they touched it. Gutters: The people sent to measure for the gutters arrived unscheduled and high on something. When they came to install they had poor equipment that kept throwing the breakers in the house and left a mess of scrap and the worst gutter install ever. They beat the old gutters off the house, damaging the face boards. After we complained, Mr Mater came back and did the entire job over again. Then showed me where I was supposed to finish the caulking. Roof: The roof is a mess of bad metal work with many underdriven nails throughout. The contract was not adhered to and the "W" valleys were left out. The shingles are sloppily lapped in the valleys with no metal underneath. Ice and water shields cut short or omitted. Cuts at the roofline are ragged and sometimes too short. No warranty or documentation was provided on the shingles. The entire roof needs to be replaced. Mr Mater wanted to put a lot of sealer on the nail holes and call it good. Skylight: The skylight was replaced with the cheapest piece of junk they could find. Single wall, even though Mr. Mater stood there and assured me it was double wall. Installation is also bad - entire light is being replaced. Chimney: The damaged chimney pipe was triple wall dual fuel pipe. Again Mr Mater showed up with the absolute cheapest thing he could find and lying about the pipe that was replaced, even though I still have the paperwork from when it was purchased. Mr Mater is constantly unavailable by phone with a litany of excuses for not returning calls - I was in the country... My phone does not work... You must have left the message on the wrong #, etc. The pipe they wanted to install could burn down the house with this type of stove and you can see daylight throught the pipe installed inside the house. The chimney pipe fiasco was the last straw and resulted in his firing on April 9, 2012. The tarp they put over the hole came off and when we went up to replace it (of course we had to do it ourselves as no one could be contacted) we were walking on all of the nails that were coming through the shingles. See Photos of the mess at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mjwright/sets/72157630051607386/ Mr Mater has called and threatened me with a law suit. This company travels from area to area following storm damage, setting up offices and claiming to be local and with the BBB. The BBB here has never heard of them. They obtain short term licensing and pick up just "whoever" to do the work, then when your roof starts to leak they are long gone. When I asked for his licensing # here he gave me a # belonging to an Allstar electrical company in OK. That company has never heard of him and his IA license had expired. Everything is about a run around, poor workmanship, substandard materials and a lot of lying. Run as fast as you can!
Description of Work: Hailstorm repairs: new gutters, new asphalt shingle roof, replace skylight, replace cedar shingles on front of house, attempted to replace dual fuel stove chimney.
