I would like to highly recommend Jack Wilson and the Stellar Remodeling team to any homeowners who are looking for a quality contractor. We first contacted Jack in 2013 to help us with a small kitchen remodel project. He helped us design and install a granite countertop and add trim detail around the kitchen window. This was a relatively small project but Jack was detailed and attentive to us throughout. We were very happy with the work so we called Jack for our most recent remodeling project which included a full kitchen and living room remodel. This was a HUGE project that went so smoothly and we are thrilled with the results. Jack worked with us to scope the project - planning every detail including cabinets, countertops, plumbing, appliance installation, backsplash and hardwood floors. Installation was very quick (about 4 weeks) with no issues and we have been enjoying the results ever since. The price was very competitive and the attention to detail is amazing. If you are looking for a general contractor who has the experience, reputation, integrity, flexibility and the ability to listen on your next remodel project, I highly recommend Jack and his team. You won't be disappointed.

Awful experience. The billing is EXTREMELY sketchy, as they default to trying to charge whatever cost overrun is permitted in the contract. I was charged multiple times the cost of materials very early on, obviously in an effort to hit the (10%) overrun as soon as they could. The contract allowed for a 20% premium over cost for materials they purchased for the job, but I was charged nearly $1k for ~$200 worth of materials (~500%!!!, I priced everything out by SKU). When I politely inquired the person who did billing (Cheri, the owner's wife) why they were charging like this, and requested receipts for materials for those charges, she became extremely defensive and condescending, instructing me not to track expenses or hours because “that was her job“. As the person paying the bill, pretty sure I should know what I’m paying for. She never addressed any of the material charges, which is probably unsurprising. The workers are hit or miss (mostly miss in my case), many are apparently contractors and not actual employees. They sent a really inappropriate guy named Steve (and his son) over who absolutely destroyed a number of kitchen cabinet frames, and really screwed up the installation on whole. He wanted to glue(!) roughly $2k worth of splintered cabinet face frames back together, as if that were a solution to anything. He would talk to me about smoking weed while on the job, and constantly ran his mouth about conspiracy theories about COVID and politics while refusing to wear a mask I when requested during peak COVID. He would not fix his work when I asked him to, and instead stormed off the job because "he was the carpenter!", clearly offended that I questioned his genuinely awful quality of work despite destroyed and crooked cabinets. He wanted me to lie to the countertop people about moving cabinets around after measurements, as if it wasn't ME paying the ~$4k for countertops. I've had a couple negative experiences with workers over the years, but this guy topped all of them pretty much immediately. I would later learn that Steve hadn't worked at all in roughly 5yrs, and that his previous job was roofing, not interior remodeling. Jack (owner) would not lay eyes on Steve's work directly, despite being requested to do specifically that. They sent someone over (Dan) to do damage control after I made it clear that Steve was not welcome back to my home, but that kitchen will never be right thanks to Steve. Dan's quality of work and professionalism are the only reasons this isn't 1 star. I would hire Dan again, but absolutely not through this company. This is the massively pared down version of this review. This was one of the more awful experiences I’ve had with workers doing remodel work. I can't adequately convey how stressful this company was to deal with. Do yourself a massive favor, avoid the headache and choose someone else.

I apologize that you had a poor experience with Stellar Remodeling. At this time we were trying to hire new installers and it didn't go very well. Steve definitely didn't make the cut and was let go after your project. He along with some others talked a confident game and didn't deliver, none of them did.... for this reason I am down to my 3 original installers. Unfortunately I am finding it difficult to find new installers with any degree of professionalism. I sincerely apologize any inconvenience and the late response. Jack Wilson, Stellar Remodeling

Had a small kitchen(~30 sq ft of countertops) completely remodeled and layout changed/enlarged to ~55 sq ft of countertops, as well as a powder bathroom(toilet & sink). Original estimate was $12,000, I was actually overcharged through weekly CC payments for a total of $20,000. There were no changes to the original design. After the work was finished I replied back asking for some corrections. I didn't hear anything back from my first inquiry so I replied again this time threatening to dispute the overages with the credit card company. Then I heard back from Jack, and I was refunded $5,300 for a total price of $14,600. The price above is mainly just installation labor, all the major materials were purchased separately(cabinets, countertops, floors, appliances). The work itself was ok-to-good. It's not perfect there are some minor things here and there but nothing terrible. The timeline was bad, Jack estimated 4-6 weeks to complete the job. I began conversations/planning in Febuary and work began on June 8th and didn't finish until August 24, 11 weeks of construction. One person performed all the work, Dan. He averaged 5.6 hour work days, so although he worked 39 days, if they had been 8 hour days it would have only been 27 and a half. Dan's punctuality was terrible, he never arrived at a time he said he would. And there were multiple days where he no-showed for whatever reason and then asked if he could make it up on the weekend. The worst instance was he said he was going to come at 10-11 am on a Saturday. I didn't hear back until 1pm that he got busy with something else and if he could come in about an hour at 2pm. I needed work finished prior to Monday because Floor Contractors were coming and the work had to be finished so I said ok. I didn't hear back until 3:50 that it would be anther 30-45 more minutes. He didn't actually get there until 5:20 pm. I was also informed by Dan about some unprofessional advice given to him by Jack. At the beginning, Dan told me work would start a week later than was planned because he had to matters to attend to out of state. It wasn't until later that Dan informed me he went to Vegas for his Birthday, and Jack told him to makeup a story why he couldn't start on time. I would have been completely fine with the truth telling me that there was a pre-planned vacation and work would begin later, the dishonesty here is odd and unprofessional.

Yes I am aware that Dan moves slowly but he does good work, I inform clients of this prior to him starting the project only those that agree do I put Dan on. I believe I informed you of this but if I didn't I apologize. It Sounds like we settled the money issue, it ended up being a clerical error.

We’ve used Stellar Remodeling on two different occasions for two different jobs. They did our kitchen remodel as well as our basement remodel. Anytime you deal with a contractor, there are going to be obstacles and we certainly had ours, but there’s a reason we requested them to come back and do our basement! They do a good job for the best rates we could find. We love our kitchen and our basement, we would hire again if we had another Job to do! I recommend using them and their services for any contracting needs.

Whenever Jack Wilson came to my house to give me a quote, he consistently told me that what I wanted wasn't what he would do. It's not that these things weren't possible. Example being the style of the fireplace - he told me that would be too industrial. Then said he wouldn't put in an entry light and would leave a fan among other things. I wouldn't ever want a contractor who doesn't listen to the client on what they want. After telling me in person that he basically doesn't do jobs my size ($30k not including the painting portion), he proceeded to leave numerous voicemails. They weren't professional or nice. Fast forward to today. I received an email from him with about 15 men attached. It was a video of a woman pouring beer all over herself and taking her shirt off. Thanks for reminding me that I made the right choice. Hopefully you can get a new point person on the remodeling side, because I was very happy with your painting salesman!

We work hard and want to please people always, This is our habit and history for 16 yrs. Creativty is always subjective and sometimes when we lend an opnion it is not always shared which we expect can happen. However, End goal is to do what the Client wishes that can be feasible achieved. We appreciate Suzzane as a Client with Paint Portion of our Company , glad she had an great experience and we look forward to working with her again. We regret that she was not a Good Match with Jack and our Remodeling Company. Jack Likes to send out Political Humor to Friends and Family and aciddently added her to the list which was inappropriate but quite by Accident. We thank this Client for her input and look to see her again for another Positive Experience with our Paint Diviison. Sincerley, Guy Miller President/CEO

Jack, Jonny and Danny did an amazing job on my bathroom remodel. I'd absolutely hire them again, my bathroom looks even greater than I'd originally imagined it would. There were some hiccups with Home Depot delivering different types of tile - and they caught it before installation so it could get fixed timely, and Jonny went the extra mile on my bathtub tile by checking around for which Home Depot's carried the tile I wanted for my bathtub (since the mfg had discontinued that tile and Home Depot had delivered a mix of that tile along with another tile that was close but not an exact match). I plan on using Stellar again for future projects.
