Jarrod was one of several contractors we interviewed for a complete basement remodel. His price included plans, demolition, all trash removal, obtaining permits, and all construction costs. (Others wanted to add costs/fees for anything not dealing with the actual construction, but Jarrod was very very honest about where the costs were going.) Throughout the entire project, he was constantly telling us how our budget compared to the actual costs. In the end, he came in under budget, which allowed us to upgrade several minor features. Jarrod, and his entire team, were incredibly professional. Any time we had questions, they took the time to listen and fully explain answers and solutions. They took the effort to be quiet during our kid's nap times, were patient when the kids wanted to watch their work, and EVERY person on his team was respectful (no foul language, no smoking, never late, etc). He always communicated when he would arrive in the mornings. The basement project has been complete for approximately six months, and the quality of Jarrod's work is still high. All plumbing, drywall, flooring, texturing, painting, tiling, etc is continuing to hold up extremely well.... even with four young kids! We HIGHLY recommend Jarrod to anyone considering an indoor remodel.

I reached out to KSquared and Jarrod responded right away. The amount of work that I needed completed due to lass 3 water damage was extensive. It involved cabinetry, hardwood flooring, carpet padding and dry wall replacement on two floors. Jarrod was right up front with me in stating that it was work he could do but he could not start right away due to prior commitments. Now he could of just left it at that but instead he asked me a lot of detailed questions about the damage and then gave me some recommended contractors that he felt would be the best to help me. That's the type of person I would hire again. Can't thank you enough Jarrod.

Some shower tiles had fallen off the wall due to excessive moisture. At the time, there was a Big Deal post on Angie's List for 40 hours of contractor work for approximately $1500 by K Squared. I contacted K Squared and the owner, Jarrod, responded the same day. We discussed some questions I had regarding the ad. After satisfying my questions we made an appointment for him to come out and take look. Jarrod showed up on time and was professional. Although this was just a visit for evaluating the bathroom in question, Jarrod still used shoe covers before entering the house. He noticed the extent of the damage and quickly determined there was a potential mold issue and he would not be able to work on setting new tile until the mold was removed. Although he could not begin work right away, Jarrod clearly explained, after the mold was removed, he would replace the old rock board with cement board and seal that with a water proof urethane. He made it clear, the Big Deal was for labor which meant we had to provide the material. With that said, he did provide us with a few suppliers he worked with as well as some mold abatement contractors. We choose to use one of Jarrod's suppliers and that supplier provided us with a discount. So we purchased the materials and had the mold removed. Jarrod began work and kept me informed of schedule changes as he was working other larger jobs as well. I was OK with this and appreciated his communication. Each bathroom was treated as a separate project. For both bathrooms, the original sheet rock for the wall next to the shower was not secure or fitted correctly when originally installed. Through his network, Jarrod had new drywall installed which was a minimal cost increase to the overall budget. Overall, I was pleased to work with Jarrod. He treated us as partners in the work to be performed. Whenever a problem or potential problem arose, he provided options to include "do nothing and continue" and never advocated for any one option. He left all decisions to us. The use of his network was invaluable. We have bathroom we have taken pride in and enjoy every day. By finding K Squared for our bathroom remodels, we have no need to look for contractors for any work we need. K Squared is our "Go to" contractor. If Jarrod cannot perform the job, we know he has a talented and trustworthy network.

Jarrod (K Squared Owner) is an amazingly friendly and knowledgeable contractor. He came by an gave me the best quote and during the install worked through a number of details that other contractors would have charged extra for. He knew what he was doing, did the work himself, got the job done quickly and turned out an excellent finished product. As unforeseen conditions arose, he made me aware of them and thoroughly detailed multiple options to overcome the issues. He never tried to hide anything or pass any sub standard options off on me. He is very busy and made me aware of this on our initial visit. We were able to put together a schedule that worked for the both of us and he did his best to maintain that schedule. We did have some rain that made it impossible for him to come out when originally scheduled. Jarrod came out and worked out an alternate schedule because of the rain and was able to get on the project and get it done before another storm that was forecasted. I honestly can't say enough good things about Jarrod. I have recommended him multiple times to friends and suggest you give him a call if you are looking to do a project. K Squared is an outstanding company that provides quality results. After receiving multiple bids to finish our basement of 1200 sq feet, we chose Jarrod with K Squared. Not only is he courteous, he is detailed and fair with pricing. Never did we feel he was attempting to squeeze more money from the project, it was the opposite. He always tried to do the job a lower cost but with same quality. From the begging of the build, all the way through final inspection, Jarrod was flexible and patient. We had a hard time visualizing how to finish our basement, but he provided multiple (detailed) designs along with suggestions. Our final design is outstanding and flows nicely. It contains a bedroom, craft room, family room,storage room with laundry hook ups, full bath, and kitchenette. There are a lot of basements done quickly and without much thought, you won't get that with Jarrod. The project timeline was pushed out a couple weeks due to our adding on features. Jarrod never became frustrated with our changes. In addition, the subcontractors for Framing, HVAC, Plumbing, Tile, and Electric were prompt and courteous. They all did great work and cleaned up afterwards. Working with K Squared was refreshing. There are a lot of companies that provide poor service and results. We've run across a lot of unscrupulous contractors and were hesitant to finish our basement because of this. But, Jarrod will treat you right and do a great job...start to finish.

Jarrod was key to our basement finish and window replacement. We hired Jarrod before, for our garage finish and building of storage shelves. With that professionalism and quality of workmanship, we decided that we wanted K Squared involved in our basement finish. After Jarrod drew up the plans and we approved them he was off like no other. Jarrod was on time, on budget and his quality of workmanship is fantastic. This was a very smooth project for us. He was vey timely and professional. We wanted some custom details and Jarrod made it happen for us. He was also really good at sticking to the strict budget we gave him. We absolutely loved our new basement, and I know that it really added value to our house when we had to move for a new job opportunity. He also did a project for us 2 years prior to the basement--he remodeled a loft into a 3rd bedroom/nursery. Again, the work done was seamless, and the bedroom seemed like it had always been there. I would definitely recommend this contractor.

Jarrod was professional from the first contact to the last. He sub-contracted several items to very professional teams as well. He worked continuously on the project, maintaining communication throughout the whole process. His work is very good with attention to detail. He had good ideas that broaden your options, presenting ideas that may not have been considered. When it came to the washer/dryer movement, Jarrod worked tirelessly with the city through the permitting, presenting multiple proposals and options for us to consider and ultimately rendering the best idea yet, as his plan produced a walk-in closet and the washer/dryer in the master bath. The work is excellent. He personally did the finish carpentry, laid the wood flooring, and the entire deck. He does very good work with attention to detail. I would hire Jarrod again in the future for my remodeling needs!

After three quotes, we decided to go with Jarrod and K2 for the finishing of our basement bedroom. The room was previously part of the mechanical room and provided a large storage area. This required some consideration for the mechanical room requirements (ducting, doors, electrical). We were impressed with the final plan on the design of the room that also incorporated a creative idea for a media area that would surround and conceal the sump pump. Jarrod was there to meet all sub-contractors and county inspectors. Communication with K2 was outstanding and we were kept well informed of the schedule and inspection timelines. The work area was always maintained and consideration taken for our exiting finished area of the basement. The overall project turned out great and exceeded our expectations. My son is extremely happy. The timeliness, quality, and professionalism was very nice to see. It was great doing business with K2.

The building of our home went very smoothly, efficiently and punctually. We were able to move in on the date that we were told we could. The few minor difficulties that happened after we moved in were handled promptly, courteously and to our satisfaction. We are happy to recommend K Squared for all your building needs! He is especially good with specialty, custom projects.

It was started in October and finished by November and everything was done in a timely manner. We have now hired him to redo our deck!
