I had some issues with them. The sales man said that when they were done, he would come out and inspect the roof, but he never came back out. Another salesman said he would take down the rain gutters at no cost, which he never did. After I saw them for the last time, I phoned them a couple times and they never returned my calls.
Description of Work: They put a new roof on my house.

We had originally planned to have inside trim done on only two of the window openings and do the rest ourselves, however after we saw what a beautiful job the workmen were doing, we asked to have them do all of the windows. A new contract was written up the next day and the workmen spent three 12 hour days finishing our remanining windows. We really appreciated them honoring our last minute decsion. In general, everyone we delt with from the company was very professional, friendly and conscientious. The job took a little longer than we had expected, but it was done right !!!!!!!!!!! Also, they were very good about cleanup. Would definitely recommend C&C...the windows are top quality as is the workmanship.
Description of Work: They installed 24 windows, sills and trim. Replaced horizontal slider windows with mulled double hung paired windows at no additional cost. They also let us choose a different color for the outside at no additional cost.

CONCRETE: Incorrect information was given to the sub-contractor, resulting in a hostile crew foreman (he was angry because he was expecting a rectangle porch and did not come prepared to pour a custom porch), sub-quality work and incorrectly poured concrete that is already cracking and does not meet expectations. A diagram was provided to the C&C foreman yet that information was not passed to the crew, per the review of their work order. Inadequate amount of concrete was delivered, resulting in non-ADA ramp & loss of bottom step pads. The concrete crew did not arrive as scheduled, resulting in loss of wages for the homeowner. Homeowner cleaned up worksite each day after crew worked. Homeowner was asked to cover concrete expenses as the foreman failed to order the concrete prior to the weekend. Concrete was delayed and was eventualy paid for by 'someone' other than the homeowner. No one available to respond to after-hours call center. The answering service will take your number but no one will call you back because they really don't have anyone on call. (C&C Response: “there was never any mention of an ADA ramp whatever that type of ramp might be”) When in fact I expressed the need for a wheelchair accesible ramp due to recently being confined to a wheelchair. STUCCO: Poor quality work, inadequate preparation, lack of site consideration, late, no-show or limited work hours resulted in an extended delivery of stucco, loss of wages for the homeowner, breaking & entry (entered shed, took shovel, broke shovel and attempted to hide same and has yet to be replaced), damage to flower beds, roses and plants, compromised safety of livestock by leaving the main gate open - which was a directive and not negotiable for this project. Crew did not place expansion joints, adequate sealing at open areas nor take precautions to seal water prone areas. (C&C response: “In regards to the stucco for stucco work to be done in the winter season they have to wait until the weather is warm enough so the normal hours for stucco applications in the winter season is 9am to 3pm because the weather is warmer during these hours. The customer had been notified several times that the weather considerations would apply to her project during the time of year she chose to start her project”.) I signed my contract on July 5th, 2011. Which in my part of the United States is clearly SUMMER. This conversation never happened! POOR PREP: homeowner tasked with removing/replacing exterior lights, purchasing extensions for remounting lights & removing downspouts. Crew did not mask doors, exterior openings, windows resulting in stucco in vents of wall AC unit, material on new windows, foundation and ground. WORK SITE: left trash to blow into livestock areas & around home and neigbor's property, left stucco slough-off in flower beds, along foundation, on porch & decking. Homeowner cleaned up worksite every day after crew worked, disposed of trash in homeowner's trash dumpster, and cleaned concrete slough-off from around the home to prevent further damage. DirecTV cable was cut and not reported to homeowner. Homeowner paid the $50.00 for service call to repair cut cable plus loss of wages for one day of work. Stucco coating blotchy, inconsistent color with sloppy trowel strokes. ROOFING: No show x 3 days, resulting in loss of wages for homeowner due to poor office scheduling. Crew arrived without proper supplies, which required they 'help themselves' to homeowners materials residing on the premises. Crew states they used 3 sheets of plywood. Foreman promised plywood to be delivered to replace: Never delivered. Upgraded roof material was quoted to meet Insurance claim amount as ALL buildings on property were covered under insurance claim. Bid presented with full knowledge of new west addition & existing porch cover. Also, homeowner was assured insurance bid would be reviewed to ensure maximum payout to cover roofing expenses. However, additional costs were added to the bill citing 'customer upgrade'. Homeowner was told by sales manager 'enough material' was ordered per the original bid to cover the west addition and porch however that did not transpire. Invoice cites additional costs related to what was thought to have been included into the original bid. **roofing contract signed from a truck window after the work had already been done. The expectation was the amount on the contract matched what was discussed however, that was not the case. The contract was inflated to add the additional cost amount and was not noticed at the time of signing** Roofing bill has not been paid in full. Insurance claim amount paid but some bill add-ons are outstanding. Funds being withheld due to outstanding issues. WINDOWS: No show x 1 day, resulting in loss of wages for homeowner. Windows fail to close or open without difficulty from day 1 after installation. Screens do not fit windows. Windows adjusted but failed to be resolved. Snow blows in around sash and requires tape to prevent the snow & wind on 10 of 12 windows. Adjustments, rescreening and assessment at least 6 times. Window sales rep and foreman have measured, recorded and validated the windows as subpar and fail to meet expectations x 2. Windows ½ payment paid but final payment being withheld due to unknown repair / replacement status. Windows have been measured 5 times and now a dispute is apparent as to if the issue is a window issue or install issue. The factory engineer has traveled to check the windows and determined it is an install issue. Attorney contacted after homeowner learned C&C pulled a permit to have the agricultural building inspected in what appears to be retaliation to a BBB complaint. BBB complaint submitted to have closure on a project that is many, many months overdue, OK, 9 months!! C&C entered notes into the building permit request.."We Just wanted to make you aware" [sic] that the building was built without the required permits." The re-roof permit was entered into the web-based Regional Building Department system at 0230ish AM and contained comments that "they" wanted to make the building department aware that I was building an addition without permits. And infact, C&C had cancelled the original re-roof permit citing the homeowner cancelled the contract, which was less than truthful. So we are in litigation. Long story short. Pearls to take with you: (1) Don't trust a A+ rating with the BBB. (2) Get REAL references before engaging a roofing company to do MORE THAN ROOFING. They will sell you anything even if they don't have the skilled labor to do it. (3) DO NOT sign a roofing contract based on what the insurance claim will provide. Determine the cost up front and stick to it. (4) Do not hire a roofing company to do windows, concrete or stucco...because they don't do it..they hire it out. and (5) Meet the company staff before hiring them. If you get the feeling of disorganization during that time, it does not get any better after you are on the hook for $35K. Bottom line...the roof looks really good with some flaws that I wish were different. Too bad I have to hold the last payment on the roof due to the shoddy work on the rest of the project. The rest is an issue and should not have been contracted with a roofing company. Just DON"T DO IT. Ignore the hype sell tactic of "we can do it all for you". They can't.
Description of Work: CONCRETE: Contracted for a front porch, rounded steps with a wheelchair accessible ramp. STUCCO: Contracted for Stucco over siding of existing home, addition and stucco over an agricultural building being built immediately adjacent to the home so they all matched. ROOFING: Filed insurance claim for hail damaged roof on house as well as adjacent buildings. Was told "they would work to insure my claim covered my roof expenses". I was quoted 30 squares for the house, additions and porch. WINDOWS: Ordered Vanguard Windows. Paid extra for a higher quality window and also was to receive a rebate due to ordering a whole house window replacement. Also, had $1000 off contractor's coupon to offset my deductible.

This company failed to pass the test for me. They were unresponsive to my concerns and attempts to communicate. The estimator tried to perform window work using a subcontractor, but was unable to make it work. I then used a third party, and told C&C to hold off on any window work. Low and behold, when the second insurance adjuster came out to look at window damage, C&C had replaced screens, and then charged me for it. I was never able to nail them down on and installation time, and was completely dissatisfied with their sales rep/estimator. The worst part for me is, the installation crew did a fantastic job, and I have one of the better roof replacements in the neighborhood. I am sincerely hoping that I will not have to attempt to have repairs done under the C&C warranty, because I am convinced that it will be an unpleasant process. C&C also failed to provide an itemized invoice when I requested it, and sent the invoice directly to my insurance company for payment. I have never received an itemized invoice, and cannot fathom why it would be so difficult to produce.

He missed the first appointment for the inspection, however he came out right on time the second time. When he came out to give us the estimate I got the impression that he was really trying to keep it the work in our budget and with the insurance settlement. He was good about explaining things to me throughout the process.
