Don’t use CMC for flat roofs!!! I suffered from delays, several visits to fix continuing leaks, promises not kept, court, pressure to pay, and shoddy work over 3 ½ years until I was the ONLY ONE in the neighborhood to have my 2 TOP LAYERS AND DRIP EDGE COMPLETELY 100% COME OFF my 1300 sq. ft. FLAT ROOF in the latest wind storm. I started in July 2013, working with Bobby Joslen(owner/claims specialist) who initially VERBALLY promised to also fix the flat roof water pooling problem after paying an additional $1250. Bobby said he'd give me the standard 50% insurance deductible discount ($1250) but needed the remaining deductible for the fix above, which was never accomplished nor was there evidence anything was done about this. He recently apologized for not fixing the pooling issue but offered no reimbursement. It took 3 months to finish the roof including a 1 month delay for code upgrades. Then I discovered the flat roof portion was delaminated or not adhered to the drip edge, with big gaps for moisture or bugs to enter. Next, after the building inspector signoff, I felt pressured by Bobby and Denny Wrobel(employee) to make the final payment of $997 before I got the last insurance payment for code upgrades. As luck goes, I never received the final insurance payment since the insurance company discovered a mistake by not deducting the $2500 deductible (other mistakes added to a total of a $3200 overpayment). The insurance agent didn’t request a reimbursement but didn’t pay me the $997. I was willing to let CMC keep the remaining $2200 as Bobby promised to reimburse me $997 in 30-45 days (should’ve been IMMEDIATELY REIMBURSED). After 60 days I tried reaching Bobby unsuccessfully for another 2 months through unanswered phone calls and emails. Denny kept telling me Bobby would be back soon. Finally, I went to Gabe (principal partner/owner) who gave me Bobby’s girlfriend and Mom’s phone number as I couldn't contact Bobby directly. Gabe and Denny said Bobby handled the roofing claim side of the business. After another month of getting nowhere I filed for small claims court. Bobby's Mom, INSTEAD OF CMC, settled on the day before court to pay the $997. I had wasted many days preparing for small claims court! Next, I started getting various leaks (estimated 5 gallons in the living area alone) and had to threaten Gabe to honor the 5 year warranty since I still couldn't contact Bobby. Bobby finally showed up to apply epoxy coating on several areas making the flat roof look like ugly patchwork on many seams, over 2 months (and continual ceiling leaks) later from contacting Gabe. It seemed to help so after over 2 years since the new roof was done,I decided it may be safe to get the living area ceiling damage (prior to CMC) fixed. Then I started getting more leaks and called Bobby (3 years from new roof). It took Bobby 2 months of continual back and forth contact before he came over. I saw a can of flex seal also used this time. There was more small leakage on the living room ceiling which I continued to monitor as I NEVER felt this flat roof was leak proof. After the top of the roof blew off, I immediately contacted Bobby who stated my 5 year warranty was no longer valid. He apologized for the numerous leaks and pooling issue not fixed. I was unwilling to pay the full price he demanded for a new roof, using a different scheme, and decided to cut ties with CMC given the lousy track record. I spent 2 days from work trying to get a new roof installed before the next snow/rain storm and removing debris from the 2 top layers (rolled roofing attached to tar paper/drip edge) from the neighbor’s yards which also damaged gutters. I called the Pikes Peak Building association who said that reroofs 3 1/2 years ago are required to meet IRC 2009 requirements. The 2011 Pikes Peak building code mentions the requirement to withstand 100 mph winds as a minimum so I feel CMC needs to reimburse me for the work and materials on the flat roof. The shingled roof from CMC on the garage was unscathed. I noticed some shingle damage on other houses but didn’t hear of any flat roof damage which is used alot in my subdivision.

We had this company to do various services for us including drywall, tilework, hardwood flooring, concrete poured shower pans, crown moulding, baseboards, and the construction of a pergola. It started out on a high note. He had quite a few people working hanging drywall. However, the people he had working had never done that type of work so half of the work had to be redone and as the homeowner and general contractor - I paid for most of the mistakes. If that were the only problem, I would have considered just a neutral rating. However, the shower pans that were poured by him *as a concrete specialist* leak and showers have to be redone. The tilework that was done by his company all has to be redone and the part that he outsourced will have to redone because the shower has to be ripped down to studs to correct the problem. The leaking also caused problems with the subfloor and hardwood. His work caused much more damage than good and I would stay away from this company for the craftsmenship issues as well as the fact the he is not insured and I have fielded multiple complaints from his subs about them not being paid. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
