John was a referral from a very experienced tile salesperson (20+ years in the business) and redid my master bath a couple of years ago. Best warranty out there. Yet...his tile work was subpar...did not use a tile leveling system, installed tile with chipped edges and one tile where he nicked the surface. I have so much lippage on the walls and floor that everything would have to be ripped out and done over. All documented with pictures. Took John 9 months to replace the tiles that were chipped and three floor tiles with significant lippage. And...his repairs need further repairs. Such poor craftsmanship. When tile salesperson saw the pictures, their comment, "I'm so sorry...never had a problem with John before and with these pictures, I would never have recommended him." I should never have paid the final installment. Like most contractors...John has a habit of denigrating the work of others and not accepting responsibility for his poor workmanship.

After I contacted him, John Osborne (owner of Tile Works of the Rockies and a referral from a neighbor) was able to come and give us an estimate in a very timely fashion. He listened to what we wanted, answered all of our questions and even made suggestions we hadn't thought of. He gave us a very fair estimate for the job (a bit less than another quote we received) which included some tear out of existing granite tiles, drywall repair, and installation of marble and glass mosaic tiles as our kitchen backsplash. We wanted to get the job done in a very short time frame and John was so kind as to offer to work all weekend to get it completed by our target date. Talk about going the extra mile! The job took 3 days total (just as planned) and he showed up promptly right on time every day. He did absolutely beautiful work, completed the project on time and for exactly what he quoted. It turned out better than we had imagined! We are so pleased with the entire experience. I would definitely hire him again and would recommend him very highly for any tile job.
