They lied and refused to complete work that they assured me they would do, and I had already paid money towards. I have already reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Here's the story: 1. They came on a Monday for a diagnostic and said the $89 I paid for the diagnostic would go toward the repair. 2. I contacted the Frigidair manufacturer for the part, then called Mr. Appliance to ensure that they would install it. They said as long as I had the shipping invoice, they would. The woman in their office had even put me on hold in order to check with the owner. She said because it was coming from the manufacturer, it was “no problem”. After that I made a phone call and had the part shipped directly to me- just to avoid any possible issues. 3. On Wednesday I received the part and called them to schedule the appointment. The woman at their office told me they wouldn't do it because the part didn't come directly to me or them. I said that it did come directly to me, and she then said they wouldn't do it because it didn't come directly to them. I was upset because I had confirmed the situation just two days earlier, and now they were backing out of it. She also told me it wasn't her fault because she wasn't the person I talked to on Monday, and then hung up on me. I paid them $89 that should have gone towards a repair that they assured me they would do. They are immoral and unscrupulous. Here is the email communication that transpired following a review that I posted on a social media outlet: On Jun 8, 2017, at 10:48 AM, Ken Hutson wrote: > To whom it may concern; > Our insurance does not allow us to install parts that we do not supply because we have no legal recourse with the supplier if the part fails or are wrong damaged etc. A packing slip without a paper trail to one of our known suppliers in not proof enough...This is a strict policy and your behavior by posting bad reviews and spouting off lies is proof that I cannot and will not make an exception. After your conversation with Vicki I checked with our insurance and there are no exceptions. If we install a part the we did not supply then we have no proof it is even legitimate part... Manufacturer Warranty call parts have to come from a known approved supplier and come directly to us with an invoice for the part indicating what is was for and we must have a work order from them approving us to put that part on relieving us for liability of that part if it fails depending on the manufacturer typically credits our parts account or pays us directly for that part. We did everything we were supposed to do for $89 we came to your home determined the problem and quoted you a price to complete the repair... You declined the repair... Then chose to order the part from a friend of yours in the business in another state... I am not sure what you were expecting our insurance does not allow us to install parts we do not supply... This is should be simple enough to understand... Do you take you own food to a restaurant to have them cook it? We are a professional repair service... Installing parts from unknown sources is not something I will ever consider ever... When a manufacturer warranties a part they send it directly to us not to the customer... They also issue work orders to do so... I am truly sorry my office staff was uniformed and agreed to do something without getting complete details... However upset it makes you we can't and won't make exceptions to this rule...

Our refrigerator was not cooling properly and it was full of food with the Super Bowl coming up! I called Mr. Appliance this morning and Ken was at our house by 10:30. He found nothing wrong with the compressor which was good news. The coils were very dirty and could not be reached with a vacuum for cleaning. So he said he would have to blow out the dust with his vacuum on the blow setting, and warned me to move everything out of the area because it would get dusty. I appreciated the warning, and moved everything. This resulted in very little cleanup. After cleaning the coils, he checked everything out, and it now seems to be working fine. It was great to get the problem resolved so quickly!

He was very nice and professional. I would use him again. He was honest and said that he could fix it but it had too many problems with it so he suggested I get a new appliance. He spent about an hour here and charged a reasonable price. He was respectful. He seemed to have integrity.

I made an appointment for Ken to come out on Monday because my refrigerator was not cooling. I had turned it off which was a mistake. When he arrived, he thought it was the because the coils were dirty but really couldn't tell because it should have running for a day or two. I paid the service fee but he said if this was not the issue, he would come back without the service fee. It still was not cooling properly and I sent an email early in the am on Thursday. He was here at 8:30 AM, thank goodness he had an opening. The timer on the defrost was not working. Because I had a more heavy duty timer than he had in his truck. he drove to the parts warehouse to get the proper part, replaced it and it is now working. He could have replaced it with a lesser quality and I would have never known the difference but he doesn't do business that way. He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and honest. And he stood by his word and didn't charge me another service call.

Thank you! It is our policy to never charge for a second trip/diagnostic on on the same appliance for any reason within 30 days of the first visit... So even if we cant duplicate your appliance problem of the first trip there is no charge to come back for 30 days and the original trip/diagnostic fee will be credited towards any repair that needs to be completed on that appliance in that 30 day time frame...
