+ -1 moreDO: Keep in mind that no remodel will go off without a hitch (or 100).DO: Keep and open mind BUT hold your ground on the important things.DO: Be honest with your designer - I'm an information person and needed to know process and procedures so that I could anticipate the next and quot;thingand quot; on the list.DO: Know that a kitchen remodel is STRESSFUL! The kitchen is the heart of the home and having it out of commission for awhile sent the family to different corners of our home. DON'T: Be so tied to your own vision that you stand in the way of your designer's talent.DON'T: Remodel on a timeline.
Description of Work: Many friends and family asked why we hired a designer for our kitchen remodel. In truth, this was our first remodel project and we were novices as to process and did not have faith in our "taste level". I know what I don't like, but was having problems putting the design together in my head. Becky did a quite a bit of educating and hand-holding. Becky redesigned our kitchen taking it from cookie-cutter suburban to unique, functional, and breathtaking! Our kitchen was cramped, closed and uninviting and Becky was able to create a open plan which is expansive and welcoming. Becky helped us make design and material choices within our budget and encouraged us to embrace a few design "risks" that we never would have envisioned and now can't live without.

She came up with a number of designs for us and worked very closely with our contractor on implementing the work. She is flexible, creative, and insightful. She is a great designer.
Description of Work: Becky designed a complete remodel of a kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and mud room.
