I hired Carpet Exchange of Parker, CO, to replace the carpet and lay new tile in two bathrooms in preparation of sale of my house. Store manager Angela Winkler sub-contracted the installation work to Los Lobos Carpet of Aurora, CO. The carpet installation went fine, however, the Los Lobos crew did not replace the 20+ year old toilet ring when they replaced the toilet in one bathroom and this lead to serious and widespread leaking and water damage. The tile in the other bathroom had a large, quite visible cut in it. I tried to ask the Los Lobos crew if they were going to replace the rings before they did the work, but NONE of them spoke English. Carpet Exchange would not take responsibility for the damage done by Los Lobos' negligence, nor would they compensate me for my time lost dealing with repairs, reports and attorneys. It took me over six months and many hours of effort on my part to obtain reimbursement from Los Lobos insurance.

I needed a fairly quick turnaround installation of new carpet in a 1500 sq ft rental property and I wanted carpet above "builder's grade" at a reasonable price. I was not receiving good support from my property manager and decided to go out on my own to find new carpet. I explained my situation to Randall Stanfield, the assistant manager, and he spent significant time finding a quality carpet at a good price. He even personally came out and did the measurements and ensured I had one of his most experienced installers assigned to the job. Randall was able to provide a great price on good quality carpet by piecing together existing large size remnants at a sizeable discount and suggesting a different pattern for the stairs to help keep costs down. To me, this was a "win-win" in that he was able to sell remnants and I got a higher quality carpet at just above what I would have paid for builder's grade. Randall relished in the opportunity to provide a quality product and a good price married with exceptional service. The carpet was installed a week after the order since he found all pieces already in the local area. His installer (Sammy) did a great job, finishing about 1400 sq ft in under 6 hours and providing several remaining cut outs that could be used for future patches, if needed. Randall followed up on the day of the installation to ensure everything went well and reinforced that he was available to respond to any future problems.
