This move was the most harrowing experience I have ever encountered! I was told by Nate at Milehigh Moving Company that I would be charged $59.00 per hour. I was told that they would be at my apartment between 12:00 and 3:00 pm on September 1. The two men showed up at 2:50 pm. They were so very slow and sloppy ~ I swear they were on some kind of drugs or something. They were both heavy smokers and stopped very often to smoke. I had all my things boxed and marked as to what room I wanted the boxes to be placed for unpacking. I had the boxes I needed to be delivered to my storage unit marked on all sides with bright, florescent tape that was impossible to miss. They totally ignored my instructions and the markings on the boxes. They did not shrink wrap my furniture with doors and drawers and so the doors and drawers were flung open during transport, which resulted in broken drawers, doors and the stuff inside them. Almost all my furniture was scratched, scraped or broken! They were so negligent in organizing their truck and then said they could not fit all my things inside their truck and so they were going to have to make 2 trips ~ which was totally unnecessary ~ I could clearly see that everything would have fit in the truck if only they had organized things more efficiently. Since they were so slow, I could see that they were not going to finish the job in one day, so I began hauling things myself, I am 70 yrs old and disabled and I was moving faster than the two of them put together. Well, they could not finish in one day, so then I was told that they had to store my things in their truck overnight and they would finish in the morning...then they charged me for overnight storage!! The next day, Sept. 2, they were STILL moving so slowly and just as carelessly and negligent ~ then when it came time to pay them, they charged me $978.00!! I moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 1 bedroom apartment a few years ago and those movers, (Team Hernandez), moved even more stuff in 3 hours and were so good and attentive and only charged $350.00. Milehigh Moving Company took 9 hours and 2 days! And they were sloppy, careless and not at all paying much attention to what they were supposed to be doing!! Unfortunately, Team Hernandez does not do moving anymore. I am STILL trying to sort out the huge mess Milehigh Moving Company created. Still moving things back and forth to and from the storage unit, because the movers just ignored all my instructions. I am not really supposed to be doing all this lifting and moving, but the movers did not do it. When I scheduled the move with Milehigh Moving Company, Nate told me that the cost would not exceed $450.00 ~ then he charged me over twice that amount! I am just furious! These people should not be allowed to scam their customers like that!! As soon as I can document all the damage they created for me, I am going to be pursuing legal action. I noticed that Angie's List has them at an F rating, I wish I had looked at that before I hired them. BBB has them at an A- rating ~ I have complained to the BBB and they are attempting to help me resolve this mess, but Milehigh Moving is not being truthful with them, (as they were NOT TRUTHFUL WITH ME!). I don't know if Angie's List makes any effort to reprimand contractors, but if you do, I hope you inform Milehigh Moving Company that I am the one who is complaining and why! Thank you for your time!
Description of Work: Move from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom. Also, I needed some items moved to a small storage unit.

Description of Work: 8 hours for a 2 hour job by men who worked slower than I, who am physically disabled, and took more smoke breaks than chain smokers. I was then forced to pay over 4 times the quoted amount and treated like dirt in the doing so. They did not appreciate my business not my person and damaged many of my larger furniture pieces. I still can't afford to get my couch fixed.
