Description of Work: Guy came out to do a preventive maintenance check on our boiler and gas heaters. We are new to the house and the area. The guy that came out was friendly, didn't try to upsell me and answered my questions straightforwardly. I liked him and his manner. However, later I was called with the news that our boiler water which they tested was acidic, 5.5 ph. The guy who talked to me, different from the one who came to our house said we should start saving our nickels for a new boiler. 6-8,000 dollars. He implied that the acidic water was symptomatic of something wrong with the boiler. Hmmm. I decided to have our well water checked. Sure enough, the water coming out of the well is acidic. A fix for around $1,500. Seems to me a local guy should have had that knowledge and suggested the possibility. Since he didn't, I can only assume he was using the finding to try to sell us a new boiler. Not my idea of great business practice.

Description of Work: Over the five years I've been calling Conifer Plumbing to help me with my house projects I've had a lot of work done. I've had the plumbing in two bathrooms reworked; moved and extending piping, mixers brought up to code, tub drain lines replaced, and toilets replaced. I've also relocated the all the plumbing in my kitchen, including the sink, dishwasher, pot filler, and gas stove. Most recently, my laundry room was replumbed. I had a washer box installed, the drain line for the washer moved, a new vent line for the dryer installed, and a utility sink stubbed out. The price listed applies to this most recent project. Additionally, I've had Conifer Plumbing out for various service issues over the years. The price above is for the most recent work in the laundry room.

Description of Work: Technicians inspected a Rinnai stand-alone room furnace for propane leaks.

Description of Work: I contacted conifer plumbing as my carbon monoxide detector had been going off repeatedly for a few days so i had decided to unplug it from the wall so it would stop. I then called the fire department and they referred me to whom they thought was the most experienced and would give me the best opinion on what was going on with my furnace as i believed the venting was bad and needed to be repaired or replaced. About two hours after i called conifer plumbing the technicians called to tell me they would be arriving shortly. In no time at all they arrived and promptly started diagnosing the problem. Upon diagnosis they found with an inspection mirror that the heat exchanger was cracked and had been dumping carbon monoxide into the house for quite some time. They assured me that they could come out even on a Saturday to install the furnace as it was going to be cold. They where very personable and didn't want someone of my age to not have heat living in the mountains. I told the technicians that i would think about the price they had given me and would return with my decision asap. I called later the day after which was a Saturday and the technician promptly answered my call and told me they could come out tuesday to install my new 95% efficient furnace as i was going to save on my gas bill and it would pay it self off in about 2 years if used mainly during the heating season. I called again Monday to schedule with the office; the secretary was very polite and knowledgeable as well. I then thought a little more on how dry the air is in my home and asked about a humidifier. They directed me to an April Aire 600 bypass humidifier that wouldn't make it too humid but more comfortable than anything, i then added this to my bill and was surprised at how inexpensive it would be to apply this type of luxury. Upon the decision to get the humidifier i also asked about what it would take to condition my water and make the humidifier last longer and be the most cost effective which led me a to a water softener which was also quite inexpensive for the value of the product. I chose to get the softener to help keep the cost of the humidifier down and treat my water and make it more drinkable as it is very hard and there are lots of minerals that can clog and destroy vital parts of the water system in the home. As i am hypertensive i was slightly worried about the salt content from the softener and they informed me of a reverse osmosis water filtration system to make my water very clean and drinkable for someone like me. After about an hour of being helped on the phone i decided i was going to do this all at one time. Surprisingly enough they had everything i needed and and or wanted in stock and i didn't have to wait any longer' they would be coming out the next day to do the work and finish the job. They showed up the next morning around 9:00am and began to work away. I Checked up on them frequently as any home owner would and they where busy busy busy the whole time. Every time i returned i saw astonishing progress and capability and understood exactly why this is their job not mine. In one days time they had installed a furnace, humidifier, water softener, and reverse osmosis at my leisure. I was very happy with the work they had done and it is very nice having it indeed. At the end of the day i asked them how they do it and they said " its our job to make people happy". Service with a smile i suppose.
