+ 0 moreGrizzly responded quickly to my request for the repair. (the next day) The repair was completed and the new sprinkler heads were installed. Their work was professionally completed and the clean up was much better than I expected. With in two days you could not see where they had dug in the lawn to add the two sprinkler heads. Excellent workmanship and cleanup. I called two other lawn services but never even got a call back. I highly recommend Grizzly Sprinkler Repair.

+ 0 moreWe had an urgent repair required at our house and have used Grizzly for many years and called them again and they saved the day. So quick to come out and figure out the problems and finished everything within 24 hours. Our front and back yard was nearly dead and once he got everything back up and running we had green grass within a week. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

+ 0 moreI left the provider both an email and voice mail on Monday, 9/14/15. By Thursday evening, 9/17/15, had not had a response to either. I can understand the provider not being interested in the proposed job. What I can't understand is the lack of concern about being considered for any potential future job. A total lack of response to an inquiry results in an automatic deletion from any future consideration for me.

+ 0 moreEverything went perfect on this. I set things up about a week and a half prior to the appointment (I had to do it early because I knew that I'd be out of town for a week). Bobby Reese (the owner) arrived on time - actually a few minutes early. The system was blown out without a hitch. We also talked about a separate drainage problem I'm having. Bobby was very knowledgeable on both the sprinkler system and drainage.

+ -1 moreI was very please with their service. I called and their voice mail/message machine was full. However, I got a call about 1 hour after leaving a message. I missed that call because I was in a meeting and he called about 45 min. after the first call. He came out the same afternoon/evening and did a temporary fix to stop the leak and came back the next morning to make a more permanent fix.
Description of Work: Grizzly Bear fixed a leaking valve that had evidently been leaking for a long time and did some preventative maintenance.

+ -1 moreI had been having a heck of a problem finding a person to take care of our sprinklers. People would make appointments, then never show up. Or the work would be done, and need fixing again the next day. Out of desperation, I called Grizzly Bear and was pleasantly surprised, especially given some of the negative reviews. The person who handled the fun was polite and got me an appointment to repair our system the same day. They gave me a window of 2pm-4pm, but the technician showed up at exactly two. He was polite and fast. 20 minutes later our system was fixed and we were on our way. I plan on using them to take care of our sprinkler system in the future. Highly recommended.

+ 0 moreAt first, it was a great transaction. The owner (Bob? embarrassing to forget such a simple name, but I'm not sure anymore. I'll call him Bob for purposes of this review.) was very personable. We chatted about how hard it's been for me to find a reliable lawn care company; I'd been trying for two years, and as soon as summer hits, I'd call a half dozen companies; 10 wouldn't answer their phones, and the remaining two scheduled appointments they either didn't keep, or keeping the quote appointment, never followed through on getting me a quote, let alone scheduling the work. Bob chided the others, saying he could never understand why other people turn away honest work. He gave me a fair quote for the specific job, and inspected my existing sprinkler system, listened to my other concerns about my lawn, and came promptly as planned to install the rock. We discussed some other projects I had in mind and he had some great suggestions. I paid him the day the work was done, and he suggested I call him to turn on and adjust my sprinklers this spring. Fast forward to mid-April. It got so hot, I couldn't wait until Mother's Day, so I started calling Bob. I left several messages, and he never called back. I turned the sprinklers on myself; it turned out the the sprinkler heads he had moved were all pointed into the fence. I called Bob again, still without response. I managed to find another company to adjust the heads, but I'm sorry it came to that. I do feel that he should have stood behind his work once he learned that he had re-installed the heads backwards.
Description of Work: My home backs up to an unmaintained open space and I have a lot of pressure from weeds behind my fence. To combat the problem, I decided to remove the grass up against the fence and install rock. I had sprinkler heads up against the fence that needed to be moved to the new perimeter of the grass area. Grizzly Bear moved the sprinkler heads and installed the rock.

+ 0 moreI contacted them via their email as they weren't answering their phone and their messaging system was filled. They called very quickly after my initial inquiry and came out. They gave me a quote which was very reasonable. While with me, I mentioned their phone voicemail box being filled. They said the best way to reach them was via their email. Later, I had some additional questions and wanted to get a cost to add Sod to my quote so I sent them an email. A week went by and I sent another one. It's now been several weeks and their lack of a response to my emails (their preferred mode of contact) has lost them our business.
Description of Work: We needed a sprinkler and drip system installed. I later asked them to quote prepping the dirt and either putting in grass seed or sod.

His attention to detail saved me at least one more service call, and reduced the waste of water. I appreciated his thoroughness. The price was a good value for the work performed. Recommend highly.

Description of Work: We originally called Grizzly Bear because we were having trouble with our sprinkler system and we needed help in resolving it. We asked "Bobby" to give the system a thorough check up and make repairs as necessary. This review is based on our entire experience with Grizzly Bear, which included work at both our house and our daughter's. I'm including the experience with our daughter because we ultimately picked up the tab for the work and since it was our dollar, I think it's our satisfaction, or lack of it, that needs to be expressed. Our experience started with excuses from Bobby for why he couldn't be here at our house when we expected him. When he finally got around to the work at our home, though, it seemed as if he'd done an okay job, even though he seemed a bit pricey. With that in mind, we referred our daughter to him. She was having trouble with her sprinkler system as well, primarily in her front yard. At her house, his crew chipped up the pavement in front of her house while unloading equipment, tore up her front lawn, left mystery heads sticking up and then went home, leaving sod only barely flopped back in place in one area and a cut pipe underground that turned the yard into a bog in another. We made a trip to her house to see the results of Grizzly Bear's work ourselves and were extremely unhappy. Getting Grizzly Bear to return to make repairs was tougher than getting the company out to do the work in the first place. It took several phone calls from both our daughter and us, another blown-off appointment from him, and a firm reminder to him that he had already been paid a considerable amount of money and he needed to come back and clean up his mess. At that point he was finally sufficiently motivated to come back. And even his attempt to fix things took two trips and yet another phone call. When he finally did come to her house to make things right, there were more excuses, including trying to shift the blame for the disaster to her. I would NEVER recommend this company to anybody.

Description of Work: Had a sprinkler leaking and I couln't find the source. It wasn't easy for them either since none of the valves had been marked. They had to find the valves and then fix them. Took a few hours but they found it and fixed the problem.

+ 0 moreThere were several things that they did. Bobby does excellent work. In the categories of good, better, outstanding and maybe even beyond category, he might be beyond any category. He is outstanding. He does good work and takes care of things. He fixed some things and took care of the sprinkler system. He repaired a couple of things and he also came out to do some repair work early in the summer. His crew is good as well. So, I have been really pleased with that. They will be coming back to do some work. I spent about $1800 for the last service. Bobby and the guy who built the deck for us worked together to coordinate the activity in order to do whatever that needed to be done. Bobby was really good about working with my deck builder and put the sod. The sod looks great and there are new sprinklers out there. When it comes to the punctuality, he wasn't on time. However, he certainly explained what was going on and took care of everything. So, it wasn't a big deal and it wasn't like he didn't show up week after week. He was here when he said he would be here. He once had an emergency that he had to take care of and that was probably a bigger problem than I had. So, I was okay with that.
Description of Work: I used the services of Grizzly Bear Sprinkler Repair last week. Bobby is the guy we dealt with. He put in some sod and new sprinklers in an area. Where we had the deck built, he took care of moving some sprinklers so that they were where they needed to be instead. He did a small section where he removed the gravel and put down sod. Then he removed the gravel from underneath where the new deck was being built.

+ -1 moreI called Grizzly Bear Sprinkler Repair. The man who answered appeared to be knowledgeable, and they promised to send someone out on Monday (I called Friday). At the appointed time, a very young man showed up along with another guy who evidently spoke no English. They worked for a while and then declared themselves done. Later, when I tested the sprinklers, they were by-and-large fixed, but a few needed some more tweaks and one or two still leaned over. So not at all bad, but not great.I also asked the kid how I should set the timing for each zone. He said that each zone should be set for the same time. This seemed very unscientific to me, especially in view of the fact that in some of our zones the grass appears to be distressed from underwatering. I would have liked an assessment more based on our particular situation.A few years ago, I had some similar problems and called another company. They also sent out a kid and I had the impression then as well that he didn't know too much. My experience with Grizzly is similar.My suggestion to Grizzly: When a new customer calls, send out the owner. Instill a feeling that the customer is paying for professional expertise and advice, not just for manual labor. Once a good relationship has developed, and it's time for the actual agreed-upon work to be done, the kids can do that. I am willing to pay well for expertise, but it's sure hard to find it in this industry.
Description of Work: Some of my sprinkler heads were pointing in the wrong direction, a few were broken, and some leaned over and sprayed into the grass. I needed someone to fix these problems. I also wanted some advice on how to set the zone timings.
