Buckhorn Heating And Air Conditioning

I recently got estimates from a half-dozen HVAC companies for the installation of a full ducted heat-pump system into an home that did not have it - a retrofit. Buckhorn finished dead last. Craig, the owner(!), pulled up to the house (late), opens the door, and says in a flat tone, "What have we got?". No introducing himself, no effort to be friendly. Then he kind of walks around the house and takes a perfunctory glance in the attic. By now I'm starting to think that he's just going through the motions. I'm following him around, smelling the cigarette smoke on his breath. He proposes a mini-split system, which is easier to install but not as attractive in appearance as a ducted system. After becoming certain that a ducted system is what I want, I let him know, and his reply is "do you want a written estimate for a ducted system?", and I'm like yes of course if you want the business. He never replies. My time spent on these guys was completely wasted.

They best in town, they are wonderful! They are so trustworthy.

They are incredible, They are just amazing. One person came out to complete the work. The area was left perfect when they were finished. I can't think of anything they can improve on, they are amazing.

Had an issue with it, and had to call them back to come fix it again and was glad that they didn't charge me again. I was happy that they seemed very qualified and eager to explain any questions that i had.

Chris was prompt, courteous and professional. He checked and cleaned our furnace as planned and also took a look at our gas fireplace and got it working - even though they don't specialize in gas fireplaces. I would recommend Buckhorn and Chris to my friends.

Craig took the time to show me the cracked heat exchanger using an imaging system. They installed a new furnace pretty promptly considering they were backed up with service calls stemming from the major flood. The pricing is very reasonable. Paul offers friendly, excellent customer service over the phone. Thanks for the good work, guys!

They were extremely thorough. I found it refreshing to find a company that did more than I expected. Very professional. I was expecting to hear that we needed a new furnace, but did not. Said the 23 year old furnace passed with flying colors.

We were told by other companies that our house was too small and that we didn't have adequate electrical service for central air conditioning, so we decided to order two "mini-split" units that have an outside unit and two inside units mounted on the wall. We decided to go with Buckhorn because we had used them before for annual furnace tune-ups and were happy with their work. When Buckhorn delivered the new mini-split units and was preparing to install them, we decided that the inside wall units were too big and ugly. Buckhorn returned the units for a very small restocking fee, and we re-evaluated the central air possibility. Craig and Paul studied our house's air ducting and electrical service situation and told us that they could install central air by replacing the 5" ducting with 6" ducting and by adding one 4" x 12" return duct. They also determined that we DID have adequate electrical service. Our home is quite small (about 750 sq. ft.), and was built in the 1890's. It rests on a stone foundation and, except for a small utility basement, has about a 2 ft. crawlspace. Thus, the biggest part of the project was Paul spending about 3 days removing the old ducting and installing the new, working in that small crawlspace. Heroic job! The rest of the job was routine and was done promptly and skillfully. Just in time for the hottest summer on record here in Colorado, we have air conditioning! The system has worked flawlessly since installation and we are very pleased with all aspects of Buckhorn's work.

All the other heating and air companies that I talked to said I needed a new furnace. When Buckhorn Heating and Air Conditioning came, he told me that I did not need a new furnace, it just needed some work. Now, it works fine and I can't even hear it run. They are very good. They come immediately, they tell you the truth, they save you money and did not try and sell me anything. I hope they never go out of business as long as I live. I hope they get flooded with service so they never go out of business.
