These guys were courteous, prompt, efficient, and the cost was reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Main Street Movers.

I went with this company because they had decent Angie's List reviews but I was very disappointed. They kept changing the loading and moving dates at the last minute. Their workers spent a lot of time on their phones or smoke brakes, while charging by the hour. They damaged several items including 2 dining tables, a plasma television, a piano and several other items. I found one plastic bin labeled "Fragile" that had clearly been dropped on its corner and then buried behind a bunch of larger items so I wouldn't find it for a while. They also apparently got tired of going upstairs - the last couple dozen boxes were just left in the garage although they were labeled with the room they belonged in. The owner was accommodating to a point but got tired of my updates about newly discovered damaged items and refused to speak to me. Next time I will spend a little more and hire a professional company.

Well, They did get all my stuff on the truck, and moved it to the new place three blocks away in a timely fashion. However, they broke my dining room table, my desk, and an end table in the process. They took pride in not disassembling any of the large pieces, That's fine, I guess. Disassembling can take a whole 10-15 minutes extra, and and re-assembling at the other end is a tad tedious. But then I think it a bit bothersome to go around and patch up the dings in the door trim and walls from where they had to wrestle big items through tight turns and narrow doorways. It seems that rather than stand it up on end, and pack stuff around the legs, it made perfect sense to just set it on the floor of the truck, on its legs, and pack mattresses and a futon on top of it, even after they had pointed out that the legs looked a bit wobbly. Sure enough. the legs collapsed, and all that stuff on top came tumbling down, and broke other furniture. So, disassemble all your big stuff before these guys get to your place, and they will probably do fine at hauling it to your new place. The boss was supposed to call me back some time to discuss the broken stuff. Yet to hear from anyone.

I was contacted within an hour of the scheduled move time by the mover to make sure everything was on schedule. The two movers arrived on time. Their names were Jeff and Robert. I had loaded a majority of the boxed items into the truck and needed the movers to move the heavy itmes and the remaining items in the house into the truck. Jeff was the lead on the move but I found that Robert did most of the heavy moving. I was not happy with Jeff. He spent most of his time on or around the truck. He would have Robert bring out items from different rooms instead of clearing a room at a time. Even Robert wasn't sure why Jeff was doing that. I also helped get items out of the house and to the back of the truck. For such a small house (only the washer/dryer and a few suitcases were in the basement), I couldn't understand why it was taking so long to load the truck. I will give a lot of kudo's to Robert who worked very, very hard to clear out the house. I know that Jeff had some personal issues he was dealing with, so that may have affected his work. They completed the job in three hours (in which I thought it should've taken only two). When they left, I found several items left in all the rooms which I tried to load on the truck myself, but I ran out of time and had to leave them at the house. I spoke to Mike at the company about what had happened. He is the one I had contracted with for the move. He was very very sorry and did send me a refund check for $60.

We had a great experience with Main Street Movers. We hired them to do an in-house move of heavy furniture around our house. That included moving some very heavy furniture including a 500 ilbs desk secretary and a heavy sleeper sofa. They moved it without complaining even though I told them they had a light piano to move even though it was really heavy. I'd definitely use them again. Plus, they have a two hour minimum instead of a four hour minimum that a lot of local moving companies require.

Aaron and John showed up on time and ready to work hard. They were very careful with all our household goods-even items we do not consider important. We have a total of 4 floors, and the last crew we hired, from another company, showed up and left due to the difficulty. Aaron and John worked continuously and wouldn't even take breaks when offered. Of all the moving companies we have had, being a military family with multiple moves, this company was the best. Definitely hire them!

They started on time with much enthusiasm and responsiveness. They were great about asking for direction and at separating out the things I wanted to go elsewhere, and what I wanted in front in storage versus stuff they could bury in the back. The main issue was with the neighbors as I did not realize at first that they blocked one neighbor completely from exiting the driveway. I realize I should have spoken with the neighbors, but got caught up in talking with the movers as soon as they arrived. when one neighbor asked to get out they said they had notified everyone but in fact, they did not knock on doors of the affected parties. I would have appreciated them telling me they were blocking others exit so I could have checked in... anyway, it all worked out but I sure got an earful from neighbors on both sides of me. I've had experience with other movers and these guys were right up there with the best overall. I certainly appreciated their enthusiasm and energy!

Excellent service! Mike, the owner, was very responsive - promptly called and emailed me several times to provide an accurate estimate and confirm details. Randy and Jack, the movers, showed up on time, worked tirelessly, and were completely professional and courteous at all times. Move went flawlessly. I would use them again without hesitation.

Randy and crew called ahead, showed up on time and did a fabulous job of moving a lot of stuff in a short period of time. They were friendly and clearly expereienced in household moving. The operations went very smoothly with appropriate attention paid to delicate items and organization when unloading. I have moved many times, short and long distances and I rate this crew at the top as far as professionalism and good work.

Two movers showed up up early and ready to work. I was called prior to arrival. All the items were handled carefully and wrapped well. The movers were hard working and efficient. Some furniture was disassembled and reassembled. Very happy with the service.

We liked them. We thought their rates were reasonable. They were very efficient, careful and did a good job.

John and Justin (I think) arrived on time Saturday with a good sized truck, and they were ready to move. I gotta be honest... John is a skinny guy, so I was pessimistic about his ability to move some heavy objects... I was WRONG! They moved all of the heavy things which I had requested and they did so with care and attention to detail. They wrapped our desk with cellophane cling-wrap and used their blankets liberally. After they moved all of my requested items, I made an additional request. Since they still had room in their truck, I asked if they had time to move a few more items. They gladly accomodated this request, and carefully moved several more items. Once we arrived at my new house, I informed them that my hardwood floors had just been redone, and asked them to be CAREFUL. They were thoughtful and effective at protecting my floors. I don't mind admitting that I am picky, and I have a high standard for what I expect from my spending dollar... These guys from Main Street Movers exceeded my expectations. From what I hear, the $80.00/hour is a fair price, we did not suffer any furniture casualties, and they were on time. I will be recommending them to all, starting now... Stop reading reviews and hire these guys. :)

I had no complaints at all about the service. I had e-mailed for a quote originally, and Mike responded to me quickly with an accurate quote. On the day of the job the movers arrived on time, performed their work carefully and quickly, and the job was completed within the time they had estimated with no damages at all. They were very friendly and professional, I was very happy with their services and would definitely use them again in the future if I have a need.

We just had Main Street move all our stuff about two miles away. I worked out a rough estimate on the cost over the phone with Mike. On the night before, Steve (one of their movers) called to let me know what time they were coming over. They were supposed to start at 8:30 AM, but ended up starting at 10:30 due to a late job the night before. Not too big of a deal for us, but I would have liked to have had more time to unpack at the end of the day. They did a good job of shrink-wrapping everything and packing it securely into their truck. Between the two guys (and the other guy's son) they loaded and unloaded in about 5.5 hours. We had about 3 bedrooms' worth of stuff...probably an average amount. Total amount was $500 with a $40 fuel surcharge. Two-guys-and a truck were charging around $120 for their startup / fuel costs on top of their hourly rate. I estimate that I saved $250 by going with Main Street Movers. One thing that Mike didn't tell me on the phone when I booked is that it is cash or check only. Luckily I found my checkbook in all the stuff.
