I first met Dustin in 2006, when I was considering the possibility of relocating from MA to CO. I was immediately taken with his unusual combination of being laid back, attentive, humorous, and a sharp business man. Even knowing that I was nowhere near ready to move, he took the time to introduce me to the two towns that I had selected as being of interest. I moved to CO in late August 2009, and met with Dustin to introduce him to my rental property, to discuss what I was looking for, the scale of my furnishings, etc. We looked at some properties but, with my obligation to a one year lease and the then ongoing decline in property values, I told him that I did not expect to start seriously looking until late in the spring, or maybe even a year after that. He put zero pressure on me to act any sooner, but agreed to keep me informed of market conditions, as well as any "deals" that might come up. By spring, it appeared that the local market had bottomed out, and that it was time to act. We toured all of the appropriate properties several times. Dustin was generous with his time and efforts, writing up an offer for me graciously, when I was "low balling". That one didn't fly due to another buyer coming in at the same time. We wrote up an offer on another house, which I considered to be in the reasonable ballpark, though the seller did not. Again, there was no pressure from Dustin to go beyond what we deemed to be reasonable, so we walked away. Not long afterwards, we toured a house that had the "it" factor for me. I felt it was new to the market, well priced, and I did not want it to become the "one that got away", so I expressed willingness to pay close to the asking price. Dustin talked me down from there, advising a lower offering price, as well as asking for a number of items to be included in the sale, which had not been part of the offering. After some negotiation, we closed the deal. As a former Realtor myself, I can say that a Realtor of this caliber is the exception, rather than the norm. He knows how to play hardball, knows the art of the deal, is meticulous in protecting his clients, and is just a really nice guy.
Description of Work: Dustin educated this former New Englander about the area, towns, local property values and, acting as a Buyer's Broker, helped me to find and purchase a home at the right time and for the right price.
