Lyptus has wide color variation. The workers made no apparent effort to sort the boards to distribute the colors around, so that dark ones wound up concentrated in one spot, light ones in another. There were a number of boards which should not have been used due to splintering or gouges, but these were used and filled with wood filler that does not match well (because Lyptus is a new product, there is no Lyptus wood filler available). The workmanship on the stairs was so unsatisfactory that we wound up having a stairing company tear them out and start from scratch. Although his charges were almost identical, the workmanship is far superior. Due to errors by the general contractor (no fault of the flooring company) the main floor was damaged and had to be sanded and refinished a second time by this company. They found a way to squeeze this into their schedule during a busy period, something we were very grateful for. The price for that was substantially less than other bids.
Description of Work: This company was sub to the general contractor who remodeled our house. He installed Lyptus flooring throughout the first floor, on two stairways and one landing. He also created a customer curved piece around a slate entry by laminating together strips of wood. He finished the floor using environmentally friendly water-based product. We did not pay the flooring contractor directly, so the project cost is an estimate. We only know the price for refinishing the floor after it was damaged, and the price for the stairs since these numbers were given to us by the general contractor. The general contractor's painter dripped varnish on the floor so we had to have it repaired after the remodeling project was done. I called the owner of this company to find out what product he used and he told me, but when I called and left a message with another question, he never called me back.

WHEN WE CALLED THEM THEY CAME BACK OUT TO THE HOUSE TO LOOK AT IT AND THEN FIXED IT THE NEXT DAY. THE TWO MEN THAT CAME TO FIX IT DIDN'T SEEM TO HAPPY ABOUT FIXING IT, BUT THEY DID IT ANYWAY.
Description of Work: BOULDER HARDWOOD INSTALLED HARDWOOD FLOORS IN ONE ROOM AND RESANDED ANOTHER ROOM.
