Welzig Heating and Air

We called Welzig for a repair job. The technician told us many half-truths to convince us to buy a new furnace, which we did not need. The company did not plan where the new vents would go, and it was not until after the old furnace was out and the new one was in that they informed me the only place to vent was onto our back patio. They cut holes in the area under and next to the sliding door right off our dining room to vent. After calling to see if they could vent to the side of the house, they said, yes, but that it would cost us more money to do this. We had to pay for this, plus the repair bills to the back of the house. When I spoke with the owner, he said they were firing the tech that talked us into a new furnace, as they had many complaints on him; however, his picture was still on the Welzig ad recently.

Welzig was very professional, very clean and tidy and punctual. No surprises. Everything works well. The sales person (Casey Welzig) was very knowledgeable and not pushy. Very nice to work with, The installers worked hard and cleaned everything up.

Weston arrived on time as promised, explained what he was going to do and got to work. I was impressed with the amount of time he took and the attention to detail. He provided me with a report of all the mechanicals in the condo and recommended replacement of the water heater. I was so impressed, I scheduled the same service on another property.

It went well, not much of a story. The fellow was on time, efficient and informative. Good job.

They answered the phone when I called to make the appointment, handled the Angie's list coupon in real time, showed up on time to do the work, and completed it quickly. They are always respectful of our home. The only thing that you need to worry about with Welzig is that occasionally they'll send someone who is not too experienced and may not know how to handle a surprise. Of course, this is mostly the case for repairs as opposed to routine maintenance. Having said that, they've always managed to make things right eventually, even if this issue did occur. I would not let this concern disqualify them from consideration.

We've had Welzig service our furnace, do our duct cleaning, and complete fireplace maintenance for us. They have always been very professional, informative, prompt, courteous, and the work has always been top notch. They even came back out to recheck our fireplace after it stopped working the day after it was serviced (no fault of theirs; total user error) and didn't charge me for the call. We'll continue to use them for our heating and cooling needs!

Welzig was most courteous and prompt. Their technician was fairly knowledgeable and located and fixed the problem with my heating system, which was a non-functioning pressure flow valve, in a reasonable amount of time. I am satisfied with the quality of the work and did enjoy their courtesy. What am am not satisfied with is the final cost which was $532,reduced $35 with a Welzig coupon. The total job: valve, install, purge system, inspect furnace, took less than 3 hours, the part (Watts SB1156F) cost $32.50 online. That all works out to be over $150 per hour. I think that is not reasonable. Yes they did give me an estimate saying that the valve was $363. I balked at the price but gave it, not much you can do if the part is expensive even if it seems outrageous. I later found out that the part was actually less than $50 and was told that I misunderstood the estimate and the $363 quote included installation. I agree to the estimate without really figuring things out nor knowing how much time the job would take so I share some of the blame for the outcome.

Called day before to confirm appointment, were on time the next morning. Tim was courteous, worked conscientious & efficiently, did walk through and inventory of air ducts before, took pictures of before & after cleaning.

The person who came to do the inspection/cleaning was professional, friendly, and answered all my questions without getting annoyed. He was clean (put on booties in the house) and they called since they ran a little late. I appreciated the call so I didn't have to sit there and wonder if they'll show up or not, which happened to me many times before with other contractors.

I was getting frustrated by my inability to get quotes via email for installation of a whole house humidifier in Denver.When I wrote to Welzig, they responded immediately - telling me that this property was outside of their service territory, and suggesting to me what price i should expect from other companies bidding on the job. Their promptness and helpfulness are appreciated. I have used them before, on other properties (in Longmont & Frederick) and been please with their work.

They called to let us know when they could come. They came on time, found the problem and fixed it. It was pretty expensive, but that's not too surprising for Sunday emergency service.

technician was very professional and knowledgeable about furnaces and how they function; he gave me important informtion about the condition of my 14-year old furnaces

This experience did not leave me satisfied. They were originally supposed to be here at 9:00AM to do the work. I waited at least a half hour and when they still hadn't showed up by 9:30 I decided to give them a call. When I spoke with them, they told me that they typically like to give a one hour window. It got to about 5 minutes until 10:00 and they called and said they were going to be a few minutes late. When it reached about 10:35 I finally decided to just cancel the service.

Serviceman showed in a timely manner and performed most of the cleaning and tune-up services advertised. Overall, I was satisfied with his job and price, but really didn't get much of an idea on how well my furnace was operating.

Welzig always provides excellent service. The technician Chris K. was professional, clean, prompt and efficient. Not only did he do the required maintenance but was good about explaining changes in the industry regarding furnaces and other company services (after I asked).

Installation was prompt and professional, no mess.

Welzig's office staff were quick to answer and schedule an appointment for the next available technician. We received a reminder call the day before the appointment and then again the morning of the appointment. The morning call was to see if we would be available earlier than the scheduled time. The technician, Chris, arrived on time and was very polite and professional. He performed the maintenance, inspected the evaporator coil and gave us options as well as recommendations. This experience was consistent with the interactions we've had with other Welzig service technicians. I would we highly recommend Welzig to any needing heating and/or air conditioning work/service.

Good experience from start to finish.Called for service and it was scheduled for the following afternoon, not a specific time, but the tech was to call ahead.The office called about 1/2 hour before the tech arrived. He seem very knowledgable and quickly found the problem and fixed the A/C. He also checked out the A/C and left the info for us. The tech mentioned that the part was warranteed for 5 yrs but this was not listed on the invoice, so I called the office and they mailed me a copy of the warranty that was on the part's box.

They came out one time and showed me how to put condensation tubes in, and said that would take care of the problem, but it didn't at all. I had to have them come again to fix the water in the vent. He had to drill holes and atleast 15 gallons came out. Since they did not catch it the first time, I asked if they would refund the first service call since the first guy didn't catch it. I explained he should have caught it since there was water dripping from the vent, etc. Said he didn't even know what I was talking about, said I should have not been given a coupon in the first place, then said he didn't think he should come back and do any more work at all. I now have to find someone else to come finish the work.

They have been very good. We continue to use them for servicing.

It was great. I had a coupon making the price a little more affordable (I couldn't remember the exact price because it's been almost a year). I had a question about the temperature coming out of the vents not being as cold as it should and they were able to answer my question when 2 other ac companies weren't able to give me an answer that makes sense. Plus, they proudly display that they are Christians, which makes them completely trustworthy to me.

My whole experience was excellent. The company provided a good explanation of why services were needed, and were very good about giving an accurate and reasonable estimate. The service was prompt and professional.

Professional and nice tech. Did not take him more than 5 minutes to diagnose the problem with a ruptured hose. He was able to remediate the problem quickly without having to use any parts. Seemed knowledgeable and checked the rest of the unit since he was already there for a service call. Found another issue and gave some recommendations.
