About us

Uncle Brian has 39 years of experience in the Home Improvement Industry and has completed thousands of jobs -leaving many customers not only satisfied, but feeling they received more than they were promised. Treating Clients as I would want to be treated is my philosophy in business and life in general. I have undertaken projects in various aspects of the Home Improvement business and specialize in Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling, as well as the Installation of Interior and Exterior Doors. My strengths include (1) Finding Real Value and completing jobs with quality materials at a price I would be willing to pay! (2) Our slogan is "Getting it Done Right -the First Time" and this is the principle I use to bring Real Value to Each new Client. (3) I rarely ask for money upfront -unless I'm ordering Special Order Materials. (3) Simply stated, I enjoy making peoples' dreams a reality and making the process more of a pleasure than a hassle. (4) I come prepared to get your project complete with the experience and equipment necessary to get your project done right - the first time! I'm equipped to handle small to midsize projects that require Quality Results. Our specialties are Kitchen & Bathroom Remodels and Window & Door Installations. Each year we receive hundreds of requests for quotes that don't fall within our specialties. We provide free estimates for well over 100 projects per year, but we do not give free estimates to everyone that calls - for the following 4 reasons: 1. When our calendar is closed, we do not estimate new jobs. 2. We only supply free estimates to folks in our service area. 3. We decide which jobs to quote based on our prior commitments, manpower, and experience, among other things. 4. Our minimum labor for free estimates is $5,000. We Don't Work On RENTAL Properties, but if you're a landlord, we'd be happy to work on your primary residence. Due to federal regulations (EPA), we don't work on houses older than 1970. Thanks, Uncle Brian

The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. She asked what I wanted, and I started to explain that we had just purchased a new home and had lots of renovation and upgrades planned, but to start with we needed some basic contacting work. She continually interrupted me, and when I mentioned that we needed to dealing with heating issues she said that they don't do any of that. I started to explain we had our own contractor for that, but needed to frame out a room, and she kept interrupting again. After 2 minutes of not being able to complete a single sentence, I realized I was arguing with someone for no reason. She eventually said "we only do kitchen and doors". So, good luck getting even a bid from these people unless you only want a door.
Description of Work: Called to set up a bid for general contracting, including remodeling in basement and bathroom, installing crown molding and chair rails, flooring, painting, etc. We also needed work on heating and putting in a sump pump (for which we had our own contractors already) but needed to coordinate this with redoing the laundry/bathroom.

Where should I start? Uncle Brian?s Home Improvements has got to be the Rolls- Royce of Contractors. We hired them to remodel our kitchen, which was a very small area with limited cabinet space. After meeting with Brian, the owner, I had a very good feeling we had made the right choice. The suggestions he made were exactly what I wanted but I wasn?t sure if they were feasible. He also made a number of suggestions that turned that little area into a model kitchen. Uncle Brian?s Home Improvements is a family business that implements outstanding work ethics. His crew is professional, diligent, respectful, timely, and a delight to have in our home. They pay close attention to the smallest details. This is the first time we have ever experienced a contractor who actually looks out for the client. Their work is extraordinary and the moldings he designed are outstanding. My husband and I are still in awe with our new kitchen. Last but not least, the price was right! One other thing that I think is very important: every so often as the numbers changed whether up or down they sent us the adjusted figures, reasons and descriptions of the changes. There were no surprises at the end of the project, as we have experienced in the past with other companies. We absolutely love these people. We have already hired them to remodel our deck next spring. We were scammed twice in 2007. It took until now, for us, to be financially able to try again. We are grateful that Angie had ?Uncle Brian?s Home Improvements? on her list. We praise God for giving us His BEST! Photos Attached. The Stewarts Aurora, Colorado

Wow! The pictures don't do this lovely families Kitchen justice. I was proud when we completed this project and sooo happy that [Member Name Removed] was also sooo pleased with her new Space. She invited the neighbors in for a peak and I was happy to overhear them congratulate her on her terrific choices. It's been almost 2 years since we completed this project and I've been back several times to visit. [Member Name Removed] had terrible experiences with 2 prior "con"tractors and I was glad we restored her faith in businessmen. These sad stories always make my stomach ache. I told her we'd take the "con" out of contracting - and she laughed. Really happy to have met these Wonderful folks! Uncle Brian and Crew

Everything turned out ok and did a good job. However, the thing I didn’t like was I had to leave the house to go buy supplies that he needed on a couple different occasions and did not feel comfortable with that. I feel like he should have had the supplies with him already.
Description of Work: I hired him to perform a variety of maintenance things around my home.

I appreciate the Review but can't comment on the specifics of this job because it's been 18 months and frankly, I don't recall what we did for this fellow. I'd like to take this opportunity to speak in general terms about the home improvement business and what customers should and should not expect. The customer should expect to be treated with respect and listened to attentively without a cigarette dangling from a contractors lips. The customer should expect to see action within a reasonable period of time, say 15 minutes, time spent getting tools from the truck to the jobsite. The customer should expect that their property will be treated with care and thorough clean ups be part of the renovation procedure. The customer should expect the job to progress with a minimum of setbacks, though a few are inevitable on every project. The customer should expect to be involved in the process: to answer questions, make selections of materials and customize their project as necessary. This final step is critical in regards to keeping the work on schedule. Some folks are visually oriented and don't "see " things until they're built. This type of person needs to pay particularly close attention to each step along the way to avoid too many changes. Some folks are very detailed and prefer to have lots of say concerning the specifics of the project i.e. the placement of the border tile in the shower/ the height of the showerhead/ the swing of the medicine cabinet mirror. This involvement is good, as long as decisions are made at the appropriate times and not after the fact. After 30 years of home improvementing, we have a large cargo van filled to capacity with tools and supplies of the trade, as well as two storages facilities jam packed with tubs / faucets / fixtures / toilets / tile etc... We cannot however, stock everything necessary for the hundreds of home improvement projects we perform. There are approx. one hundred different colors of caulk on the market. We generally stock 18 colors on our truck and try to keep at least 6 tubes of the popular colors, screws and nails are available in various lengths and finishes and I'd guess there are several thousand different types. Sooooo, expecting a contractor to have everything that your project requires in his truck at all times is probably not a good idea. I see a lot of makeshift building and incorrect fasteners being used on things we pull apart. This tendency is hard to resist when folks want a quick fix and their contractor to be part craftsmen and part magician. We offer what's known on angieslist as a "Big Deal", to spell it out briefly, our "Big Deal" offers the services of 2 men for 4 hours at a discounted rate. This offer is intended to allow the customer to sample the service provided by our company before tackling a larger project. Our experience, after performing many of these services is that most folks have a to do list that far exceeds their 4 hour window and that they prefer not to continue after their time is up. I request that these folks either have the materials "on hand", so that we waste no time, or are available to run to the hardware store after we arrive. Picking up materials as part of the 4 hour window doesn't work - since most people don't know exactly what they need beforehand. I can understand this fellow’s gripe about having to leave while we were working, I think the "Big Deal" was not the best "fit" for him and does have its limitations. Working with a stopwatch, as these offers require, do serve a niche market but I found it harder than usual to leave with a completely satisfied customer. We'll go back to the drawing board and see what we can do to make our customer’s reasonable expectations - a reality. Happy Improvementing! Uncle Brian

I cannot say enough good things about Uncle Brian's Home Improvement. We had considered them for our Master Bath remodel the previous year, but because of scheduling (the impending birth of our baby) we went with someone else. After an 8 week tiny reno, we regretted this decision. When it came time to do our kitchen, we went with Uncle Brian. Scheduling an initial appointment was difficult, but this was because when he is working on a project, Brian is fully dedicated to it. When they began our project, they worked quickly and efficiently. Within about a week we had a makeshift kitchen. The entire thing was done in less than 4 weeks, and it only lasted that long because we had to wait for the counter tops. We came in below budget too. Brian had many great suggestions during planning, and he was very accommodating when we asked for something specific. Communication was easy and quick. Also, as a stay-at-home mom with small children, Brian and his crew were great to work with. They never made us feel like we were in the way and made sure to make my toddler feel comfortable and included (to my son's great delight, m&ms were involved). Brian and his crew were also very diligent when it came to cleaning up and making sure things were as safe as possible at the end of each day. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our new kitchen and appreciated their assistance with our powder room. As an additional note, in Sept (during the floods) some guys from Uncle Brian's came to help us out when our hot water heater suddenly conked out. They were great again, and we plan to continue to use them for any future projects.
Description of Work: Remodeled our kitchen from the floor up and assisted with a powder room remodel.

Thank you for your Review! I am frequently curious to hear the end of the story when I bid a project and lose it. I bid their master bathroom remodel and was surprised to lose it, but I understood the rush - with the new baby on the way. When I rec'd their 2nd call a year later- we bent our rule a bit and decided to do a second free estimate. I find we usually don't get the 2nd job either, so we limit most folks to 1 "free" estimate. I was sad to hear their bathroom experience wasn't a pleasant one - but not surprised. Most folks who want to get their projects done quickly, don't ask the right questions and hope that all will go well. Many times they don't. I was glad that their next home improvement experience was better / glad that we were apart of it and glad to have brought the M&M's too. Our little company has lost a few of our good men recently - it'll be difficult to replace them. Uncle Brian

I tried to contacted this company through the Better Business Bureau. Never received a call back or reply from them. I described my job (a small 1960s bathroom) in the email. Maybe my job was too small for them? I ended up using Peterson Remodel and they did a fantastic job!

I can't respond to this review properly because we have no record of a inquiry of any type from this person. I'm not questioning her honesty and I'm happy to hear she was pleased with her contractor. I'd like to recommend to all the folks that they avoid jumping to conclusions concerning the reason businesses don't respond quickly to every call. Some companies are "set up" to jump into a project with very little notice. Plumbing repair and drain cleaning companies are two such businesses that come to mind, these types of businesses are usually out of luck if they can't get to a jobsite within two hours of a call. A customer will keep calling these firms until they find someone to deal with their problem - right away. Our business is in many ways quite different. When a potential customer first calls us, we do our best to get them on our schedule to quote their project, if it falls within our skillset and geographical territory. Many times customers will take a week or two to make their decision after we've given them their quote, because they're getting other bids. The process can be expedited at times, but usually takes about 4-6 weeks from first call to getting a job on our calendar. What I do personally, when I need to hire a company is call / text / and email several times for two days or more. That way I can rule out the possibility that my single call falls between the "Cracks". If I don't get some satisfaction at this point - I move on - I don't assume my job is too small, since I haven't even explained the scope of the project. I do assume the people on the other end are busy or away or possibly dealing with life. My wife and I communicate with many folks everyday and have learned to utilize different technologies to facilitate and expedite this process. Some of our customers prefer one form over others and some can only be reached via their cell phone. We "reach out" to our customers using their preferred mode when possible. This nice lady never mentions how she contacted us but I can only guess that her "email" or "call" never reached our office. Enough said Merry Christmas! Uncle Brian

The crew really worked hard the entire time they were here. I appreciate that they cleaned up at the end of each day - some days were pretty long for them, but they took the time to be sure things were put away for the day and vacuumed up around the construction area. Most importantly they 'did the right thing' whenever any unexpected items came up. Brian always discussed the options available before proceeding. Everything is straight, level and plumb. Which is nice, since not much else is that way in this old house ! Thee guys were really good! Very pleasant and courteous at all times. We had to wait several weeks on the last delivery in the master bath, so Brian and the crew moved on to other jobs but was here the day after the arrival of the final product. Everything was finished in just a couple more days. Very pleased with both bathrooms.
Description of Work: Uncle Brian's completely gutted and redid two bathrooms in my 1959 house - a lower level bathroom and a very small master bath. They had to redo some plumbing and electrical along the way. They thoroughly checked out all changes along the way to be sure there were no leaks and that everything was copacetic. They also added a drain on the lower level that the furnace now drains into - no more emptying buckets or re-routing the old plastic hose! Also repaired cracks in the outside wall where water was occasionally seeping in.

Thank you for the Review!! We really enjoyed working for [Member name removed] for several reasons, one of which was her amazing baking skills. The chocolate chip cookies were a favorite of all and will be sourly missed until the memory of them fades. [Member name removed] home had a number of issues that needed attention, from an improperly sloped landscape to a furnace/central air unit that required constant monitoring. We re-sloped the area outside a ground level bathroom and repaired a cracked foundation wall after we discovered from [Member name removed] that water seepage was an occasional problem that she thought she had to live with. The furnace/ central air unit was another story - the central air unit that was installed required a drain to handle the condensation that the unit generated. A pump was installed to keep this task maintenance free, trouble was - the drainline would freeze up in the winter and become clogged in the summer due to mildew. She also found that she needed to replace the pump every 3 to 5 years - at a cost of $400 -a pop. They had finally settled on an "empty the bucket" solution to this annoying problem. During the remodel, we discussed this issue and decided to install a floor drain under the 24" vanity to allow the central air unit to drain without the pump and without a visible drain in this bathroom. The concrete floor was thicker than we imagined (about 8") but before long the drain was installed and the task of emptying the bucket was soon forgotten. The "hidden" drain worked out perfectly. We installed a heated floor in the master bathroom and doubled the size of the shower. This allowed [Member name removed] to purchase a retractable teak seat that looked great and was out of the way until it was called into service. We've installed many handicapped benches in showers and some of them are retractable (foldable), but this particular seat added a bit of functionality to the shower without the handicap "look". An exhaust fan vented to the exterior and lots of added insulation in both bathrooms made things feel more private. I look forward to working for [Member name removed] on her next project and am pleased she's enjoying her new bathrooms, especially her heated floor! Happy Thanksgiving Uncle Brian

Uncle Brian and his crew were wonderful. They started the job and finished the job like they said they would. Everything was scheduled and if there was a delay, I was called and notified before hand so there were no surprises. The crew cleaned up every day when they were finished. There was no smoking, no drinking, no cussing, and they were unfailingly polite. They are a hard working crew. Any changes in the plans were always discussed with me before acting on these changes. My home looks gorgeous. There have been so many wonderful comments about the changes that have been made. I would recommend Uncle Brian's Home Improvement to my very best friends and I would recommend them to you as well. Uncle Brian's Home Improvement is a versatile and talented group of people. These guys are awesome!

All went very well. An easy and polite crew to work with. They were able to work another job a couple times when we ran into component delivery issues. Worked with me on components I purchased and design changes along the way. They cleaned thoroughly at the end of every day. Invoicing was clear and detailed. We had some mis-communication on the original quote so make sure you get the details up front.

Thanks for your Review!! [member name removed] and his wife were nice folks to work with and I enjoyed his stories about working on the Hubble telescope! [member name removed] originally laid out his Master Bathroom project and was amendable to many of the cost saving recommendations we suggested. When it cane time to purchase his materials, he had changed his mind on a few items and almost doubled the scope of his project - time wise. He ended up scaling things back a little to get his budget back on track, but I believe he ended up with the bathroom he was envisioning, and a price tag he could live with. After decades of building peoples dream places in their homes, I know a thing or two about getting my clients to the end of their project without breaking the bank in the process. Sometimes, a little change here or there can make a big difference when it comes to tallying the final total, but when someone wants to splurge - in a certain area of the remodel - that usually works, but I always let them know of other ways to accomplish close to what they want for Less, sometimes a lot Less. In the end, the Customer tells us what they want - in detail - and We try to make it affordable without cutting corners on Quality /Style and Functionality. I'm pleased to hear [member name removed] and his bride were happy with the almost finished project and I hope they enjoy it for many years! Thanks Uncle Brian

Thank you for noticing the Difference and Thanks for your Review! We've worked for many hundreds of homeowners - I like calling them "folks". I've heard lots of horror stories over the years about poor quality remodeling and never enjoy seeing the problems it causes my clients. Details are the Name of the Game - when it comes to Homes Improvementing! Let's think about it for a moment, a low quality Bathroom Remodel isn't easy to complete, it isn't cheap and it usually isn't done quickly. Many of the same steps are taken to get to the finish line in either scenario. I like to say - the difference between a high Quality and low Quality Remodel isn't much along the way. There are hundreds of little decisions to consider, before standing at that coveted finish line. All those little decisions add up in the end to make the Difference between a Remodel that stands the test of time and has folks standing a few moments longer to enjoy the fruits of their labor - or pulling out some of their hair in frustration. That's why we take the extra time to do a Quality Job and select Quality materials. Everyone wants a Quality / Hassle Free Remodel. Delivering it day in and day out isn't always easy but it is always our Focus. Our customers tell us what they want, we do our best to deliver it in an affordable way, they are Happy - we are Happy, Life is Good! Happy Home Improvementing!! Uncle Brian

Brian and his crew did a fabulous job installing a new 8 foot front door and entrance way along with repairing poor workmanship done by another contractor on an 8 foot back door that leads to our deck. Brian told my wife and me what to expect and did exacly what he said that he would do. The quality of Brian's work exceeded our expectations. Our front door finally works!! We plan to hire Brian to work on a kitchen remodel. He is a craftsman.

Thanks for your kind Review!! When my customer relayed to me the fact that the previous contractor had installed his 10 foot tall Front Entry Unit in under 3 hours I was amazed. If there was a race to the finish line, this fellow would have one easily, since we spent almost 13 hours dealing with the dozens of details I felt were needed to bring this project to its conclusion. In the end, my customer wanted someone to get the job not only done, but done well. It is amazing just how many steps can be skipped by someone who decides to rush through a project, rather than methodically working it to its completion. We just completed a Kitchen Remodel in Aurora, when we removed the Ceramic Tile floor to prepare the way for the Premium Vinyl Flooring my customer had selected, we found that the previous installer had buried the floor heat register, rather than cutting the tile around it!?? This is fairly commonplace in our experience, sometimes the mistakes are unintentional over sights, sometimes they are almost certainly intentional short cuts that can be comical - when they aren't dangerous. Water damage is a huge problem, even in our dry climate in Colorado. We eliminate many of the usual problem areas by taking a few extra steps in our remodels to avoid future issues. We install Vinyl Tile in our Sink Base Cabinets and Vanities to waterproof these common problem spots. We also suggest to our customers that they place water sensors under the drains in there areas to further reduce the likelihood of a mold/ rotting problem. These units are available at the home centers for about $11 a piece and have saved many folks from dealing with a major mess and clean up. Thank you to these nice folks for taking the time to tell their story Uncle Brian

Thanks for your Review!! People are really busy these days - so when someone takes the time to share an experience to benefit others - I think that's swell. My nephew did this project - he worked with me for almost 10 years - he's actually the reason why Uncle Brian's was named Uncle Brian's Home Improvements. Some of our customers started calling me Uncle Brian because they heard that phrase so many times each day. It stuck ... end of story. Well, not really, now my nephew has his own contracting business in sunny California and this uncle couldn't be prouder, though we miss his face around these parts. That's the end of the story - so far Uncle Brian

Thanks for your review! This review was categorized under cabinet making, since we don't actually build cabinets, it tends to cause issues with future inquiries. When we tell a caller that we don't build cabinets, some will review us on angieslist and claim we passed on their project because it was too small. Truth be told, we don't build cabinets, though we do assemble ready to install cabinets and we do sell these cabinets to our clients. FYI We are always on the lookout for quality materials that are priced right, let's face it, everything costs too much these day. We save our customers money by steering them clear of overpriced cabinets and countertops. We purchase them online to save the sales tax. Did you know? Though they really only sell materials, The Big Box stores are also in the kitchen and bathroom business. They subcontract all the labor to others and add their own markup, so their prices are always easy to beat, especially when it comes to kitchen cabinets. We’ve had customers who’ve purchased their cabinets at a Big Box store prior to contacting us, they always pay too much and are usually over budget early in the game. Having overspent on cabinets, most find it difficult to complete their project properly. I recommend doing a complete budget before embarking on an ambitious project and let’s face it, a complete kitchen remodel is an ambitious project. There are 7 sections that I allocate to every kitchen budget: 1.Kitchen Cabinets ( not to exceed 24%) and that's still too much 2.Appliances (including Sink and Faucet) You may be able to reuse some of the ones you already own! (no more than 17%) 3 Countertops (these days usually granite) not to exceed 15%- not a problem IF you don't go crazy 4.Labor to Demo / Construct and Reconnect (that’s where we come in) right around 33% 5.Lighting including Under Cabinet (better stttarttt stttrretttttcchinng thooose ddooollllaarrrrszzzz) 6. Flooring Materials (if needed) Carpeting strictly forbidden! (almost finished, hang in there!) 7. Miscellaneous Materials (you will need lots of things, so be generous on this section) MM covers a lot of territory but as a rule of thumb MM in a kitchen usually comes in between $1200 - $1500. When someone breaks the bank from the start, there are lots of other areas that usually suffer. I think it’s better to do an overall Budget early on that reflects current prices and then spread out the available money evenly, sort of the way you make a pbj sandwich. That way, if one area is taking too big a slice of the pie (or too much of the jelly), it’ll be apparent before it’s too late to change course. Makes sense, no? Well, back to my response -- very nice folks, we’d be honored to work for this family or any one like them! Brian Enyart a.k.a. My husband and I were new to having someone do this type of extensive project in our home. Therefore we were slightly taken back by some of the things that occurred during our remodel. Now that we are more aware of how these projects go we can be much more prepared in the future. When we initially contacted UBHI we gave them our time frame and budget. Brian himself didn't fit into our range but his contractor Kevin did. We discussed a plan with Kevin and were able to start the project a few weeks later. I would also like to say that not only were we knew to this type of project but I also have a tendency to be extremely picky! When it comes to attention to detail I have a "type A" personality and I tend to micromanage any task at hand. The project started off great, Kevin had everything ripped out in just a few short days. Then things started to slide a bit. Kevin had other commitments outside of UBHI, just as we all do. We were told in advance that he would work shorter hours some days. However, this seemed to show more than we had expected. Kevin would tell us he would be at our home on Saturday at 1030, and he would show up at noon. This became very typical. I expressed my concerns to UBHI and he was very sincere in listening to my frustration about this punctuality issue. As the project went on we continued to have these types of "issues" along the way. Another example, we were unaware that our garage would be used as the main construction area for cutting tile, wood, dry wall etc. Therefore my husband and I were unable to use our garage for both of our vehicles during the duration of the project. It ended up taking about 5 weeks. Again this caused some frustration when your used to a garage every night and are unaware that you won't have it for an extended period of time. Clean up was probably my biggest complaint. Yes Kevin and his assistant would "clean" every night but not to any standard that I would hold as efficient. There were always smears over my hard wood floors and drips and smudges around my granite counters and saw dust in our garage. This is where being new to this type of project got the best of us. After talking with friends/family/UBHI it appears this is the way that the majority of these projects go. Now for the end result, it was FABULOUS!! Even though my husband and I feel we hit some "bumps in the road" and maybe some could have been avoided we were EXTREMELY PLEASED with how our project finished out. Brian was able to send us to some great places in Denver to help maximize our budget for the vanity with granite and the shower door. Kevin did an amazing job on the intricate tile work we requested in the shower and also the diagonal laid tile on the floor. These types cuts are difficult to make and they came out perfect. Kevin also built us custom shelving to maximize hanging space in our new master closet. He really is a craftsman when it comes to what was actually important about our job. Once our project was complete I sent Brian an email expressing some of my concerns, the same ones that are listed above. We didn't want to "rock the boat" while our project was in progress so I held in my irritations until it was done. Brian was extremely professional and wanted to set up a meeting right away to see our project and properly address my concerns in person. Him and his wife were extremely genuine and really seemed to take my opinions seriously. Now from the day our project was completed I would probably have given Kevin a C and been hesitant to work with this company again. Nevertheless it was a joy to meet Brian and talk with him directly. Not to mention the ample amount of times I spoke with him throughout our project. Even though Kevin was our contractor, Brian is very involved with his company and cares about his customers and their opinions. After our meeting with Brian, he had Kevin come back to our home for a few more days to do some touch up and address a few things that we again felt were not to our standards. Since Brian and Kevin were able to make the end result exactly what we wanted minus the matters along with way we will give them an A and would definitely hire them for a future project. It helps now having completed this major project for us to know what to anticipate in the future. Had we been more aware in the beginning maybe our issues really wouldn't have seemed so "big" in the end. Thanks to Brian and his team for making our master bath as beautiful as it could be!
Description of Work: We contacted Uncle Brian's Home Improvement (UBHI) along with several other contractors to have them completely remodel our master bath and closet area. This included removal of an exterior window, large soaking tub, small shower, existing walls of small closet and vanity. They then re-framed the window area so no window is present which included siding on outside of the house, extended the master closet, installed new vanity with granite, built custom pan for extended tile shower, laid new tile and built a half wall to separate master bath from master bedroom area.

Thanks so much for your thorough and well written review!! I appreciate it when folks take the time to explain their experience and give others a chance to peer behind the curtains and get a feel for what the process actually involves .[member name removed]job was more complicated than most bathrooms and required a lot of intricate workmanship. I apologized to [member name removed]about Kevin's short days ( Kevin is a Mr. Mom) and reminded her that we discussed it with her prior to starting her project. We definitely take our customers complaints seriously, and [member name removed] had a few legitimate issues that we dealt with immediately, once she shared them with us. Uncle Brian's has several teams these days, all of them put out a quality product and are friendly and courteous, though our first team handles difficult jobs more regularly and usually with less hassle. [member name removed] wanted a custom bathroom without the accompanying custom price tag. We expressed our concerns with her early on, but our first team was booked out too far and a little too pricey for her needs. In the end, [member name removed] got exactly what she wanted and Kevin was forced to step it up and give it his best. I'm glad it ended well and [member name removed] was pleased with her new master bathroom. We are constantly adjusting our methods in an attempt to put the right team with the right customer everyday, it isn't always easy, but I believe we can improve our batting average with each new challenge we face. Our goal is to not only put out a quality product at a fair price, but make the process - well fun, we usually succeed, I think we fell short this time, so back to the drawing board. Our thanks to angieslist for allowing us to work with a lot of very nice folks! Uncle Brian and Family

We chose not to upgrade our master bath at this time because we are moving and we are already at the top end of our neighborhood. We didn't think we would get a return on the investment, HOWEVER, if we were staying in this home we would have used Uncle Brian's again in a heartbeat! They are well worth the wait time for projects, be patient with their timing and stick with people who KNOW what they are doing and will treat you with nothing but the highest respect at an honest price.
Description of Work: We have used Uncle Brian's previously and were EXTREMELY happy with their company! We have called on them since for bids and they have always been accommodating, responsive and a true pleasure to work with.

That was quite a review! Thanks for your kind words!! It was a pleasure working for this nice family, they appreciated everything we did for them and told their friends about our service. Working for folks that are appreciative allows us to relax and be at our best. During the good times, tips were a common expression of appreciation for a job well done, these days a heart felt "thank you" is much more likely and something we never tire of hearing. The summer is here and brings with it a new set of challenges, may I suggest bringing a cold drink to the fellows working out " in the heat"? We're getting ready to take a vacation in July, so if we're not responsive , it's because we're on holiday with family - three granddaughters to be specific. Happy Improvementing! Uncle Brian

Uncle Brian gave us many options for the french doors.. from low cost fiberglass to high cost wood he was easy to understand and explained the features and benefits of everything. Uncle Brian is not just a contractor he is a craftsman, he takes pride in what he does and when the job is finished you will see what I mean. I would hire him again for anything I did in my home...

Thank you for your Review! Kind words are always appreciated in this business. Alex and his wife were a pleasure to deal with and expressed their appreciation repeatedly as their project progressed. Most people associate home remodeling time with stress and frustratingly long delays. These situations can be avoided with planning and an eye on the goal. Rushing a project to get to the finish line is almost always a bad idea, quality work takes time and a few things will invariably go awry. I’d like to review a routine conversation and allow us all to examine one of the problems that plague this industry. After 30 plus years, I've heard more than my share of reasons why a particular project "must" be completed by a certain date. The reason often involves a holiday or party, placing a goal for a completion date is actually a good thing, but pressuring the whole process to fit inside a timeline due to an upcoming party usually ends in a lot of unnecessary frustration on the part of the contractor and homeowner. I've learned it's better to pass on these jobs than forge ahead and deal with a stomach ache for the duration of the project. Years ago, I learned a valuable lesson from an unlikely source. I was purchasing a new automobile and went to a number of dealerships to check out their wares. I narrowed my selection to two vehicles, one because of the financing available and one because of the solid reputation the vehicle had earned. I was definitely leaning toward the former because I liked the 0% financing. The salesperson of the other vehicle asked me if I was buying a car or purchasing a payment plan. I thought about that and realized that focusing on the financing rather than the vehicle was probably a bit silly. I was in the market for an automobile for a long list of solid reasons, but was forgetting that and being enticed by an offer that had nothing to do with the car itself. Looking back, I made the right decision and never regretted it; the car delivered day in and day out for a number of years and then was a breeze to sell when my needs changed. The car that offered the 0% financing was involved in a number of recalls and also had a solid reputation - as a lemon!! Focusing on a party or holiday, rather than the project at hand, is similar to selecting a car because of its color or financing options. Those things may impact the final decision, but the decision should be based on more than just these incidentals. Placing a deadline on a project to coincide with a party may have the benefit of keeping people motivated to keep working, but usually ends (in my view) in disappointment, either due to a poor quality end product or the project deadline being missed. These days, when someone mentions a party as the reason to complete their project by a particular date, I smile and ask them if that date is set in stone or more of a guideline, if it's the former, I'll usually walk away from their project. I recently passed on a project that fell within this framework, not because the job was tied to a party, but because the start and end dates were too close together and allowed no room for problems that would invariably pop up. I like to compare a remodel project to a river, it’s constantly changing, there are rapids that need to be carefully navigated and the one constant is change. The parties involved in the process will conclude the project best if all recognize that the project will take on a life of its own and they need to adjust accordingly. On a recent job, after months of planning and preparation, the special order kitchen cabinets finally arrived. Two of the boxes were damaged and the contents were damaged as well. Since these were special order cabinets, it took approximately 3 weeks to get the two new cabinets. If there was a looming deadline and an upcoming party, people would tend to focus on that and this relatively small issue could be blown way out of proportion. There are many things that are beyond the control of both the homeowner and the contractor. Dealing with these issues calmly as they arise will produce a better end product and reduce the stress of the parties involved. I'm sharing this to allow folks to peer behind the curtains of our small company and understand a little more about how the home improvement business operates, at least our small piece of it. Happy Home Improvementing! Uncle Brian .

I received a phone call - over 24 hours after leaving a message (during dinner time). When the person who called heard it was regarding my rental property that I am trying to sell (it's not a rental type property, it's a $400,000 house that is currently being rented.) she said they do not handle those, that they usually come in too high for a quote. Also, she stated that she is currently booking 3 months out. We are interested in remodeling our bathroom in our primary residence, but we won't call this previously A rated vendor based on this experience. Such a shame.

Thanks for your Review! It allows me an opportunity to deal with this topic frankly. We receive many calls on a weekly basis and help as many of these callers as is practical for our little company. Some of these callers are pointed in a better direction, some of them are placed on our schedule for an estimate and some are told we can't help them with their present need. After 30 plus years, I've been around the block a few times and know some of the story before the book is even opened. Case in point: I've learned that landlords will not invest in their rentals to do quality work, they want cheap and fast and that's ok with us, but I prefer not to do this dance with each and every one of them. We do our best not to insult these folks but some get a little miffed anyhow. We take pride in our work and shy away from poor quality materials, we are constantly on the look out for better ways to do what we do. Short cuts are not part of our vocabulary, though finding quicker and better ways to do things certainly is. Let's face it: there is no end of ways to skip steps and do poor quality work. Window and Door manufacturers supply step by step instructions for the proper installation of their products. I've seen more than half of these steps skipped in most installations. These short cuts always have an impact on the end result and will cost the customer over the long haul. The product will either fail prematurely or deliver sub par service over its lifetime. It's not uncommon that a poorly installed product could affect other areas of a home and cause damage that goes beyond the scope of the original installation. Since we don't specialize in this type work and avoid it even when folks request a quick fix, we leave these types of jobs to others. People who want to do repairs on their homes in order to sell them fall into this category as well. Our schedule usually will not allow us to assist these people in a timely manner and they are not in the mindset to do a quality job. They always want a rush job due to the fact that this remodel is being done to attract a buyer. They are not concerned with the remodel lasting for decades and using quality materials, just in selling their property. Since we avoid doing this type of work, we inform folks that we need to pass on these estimates, some of them get annoyed and I guess that's understandable. I like to compare our service to a steakhouse that serves quality steaks for a reasonable price. If a customer drives up to their door and wants to place an order for a burger to go, they may become frustrated by the lack of service. A steakhouse doesn't have drive up windows and specializes in a slower paced dining experience. There's nothing wrong with the fast food burger joints, they're just different. We explain to the folks we don't have drive up windows, some understand, some get annoyed, it's part of our business, and that's the way it is. Uncle Brian

When Uncle Brian told me that it was possible, I decided to go that route. Since I was on a rather tight budget, we shopped for materials and found several items on clearance. Uncle Brian came up with a tile design for the shower walls with 5 different tiles. I couldn?t be more pleased with how it turned out. Originally, there was a laminate floor in my bathroom. Although I?m a very clean person, I always dreaded the thought of the toilet overflowing and soaking in, and ultimately destroying, the floor, as I'd had a very recent and similar experience in the kitchen. The new vinyl tile floor is not only beautiful, but it?s also waterproof. I purchased a mirror that complimented my new vanity and they built a custom medicine cabinet that went into the wall. Before we started, I explained I was on a tight budget so Uncle Brian came up with a plan that would stretch my labor dollars. They used my project as what they explained as a ?filler project? which meant they fit me between other jobs. He told me rather than the 2-3 week normal bathroom completion, it could take 8-12 weeks doing it as a ?filler project?. One small hiccup we encountered was that my toilet didn?t operate properly when the job was done. When I called, they came out the next day and everything has been working perfectly ever since. The project did take about 9 weeks from start to finish. I?m very happy with my new custom bathroom!
Description of Work: I hired UNCLE BRIAN’S to remodel my main bathroom. This job started out as a full remodel; replacing tub, tub faucet, vanity, flooring, light fixture, mirror, and bathroom hardware. However, I asked about the possibility of converting the tub into a large shower, which I very much wanted, but would not have done had it been too cost prohibitive.

your Review!! This project was a little unusual in the fact that we wanted to do a complete bathroom makeover without the complete makeover price tag. My customer knew exactly what she wanted, but was flexible with her schedule and some higher ticket items. I gave her some "homework", which was to source out affordable bathroom materials without sacrificing quality. I pointed her in the right direction and she was off and running. She was able to locate a number of the items on our list "on sale", which made us both happy! We started her project when we had enough materials on hand and continued one bite at a time. Dee saved herself a substantial sum by cleaning up the jobsite each time we worked on her bathroom and by doing her own finish work. It took longer than our normal 3-4 week schedule, but in the end she had the bathroom she wanted for a price that she could handle. We will work with our customers, when they have the necessary time and skills available. On another topic, I find that some of our customers struggle unnecessarily through their improvement due to a lack of creating a project budget. Example : We recently did a Kitchen makeover. The total price tag ended in the $18000 area, with cabinets, appliances and Labor. My customer spent $3300 on her fridge because she "fell in love" with it. This fridge was too pricey for this particular project and caused us to sacrifice in other equally important areas. I think if my customer had worked up a budget, it would have highlighted her need to reduce the cost of several items, in order to get to the finish line easier. It's not that I'm against an expensive fridge, I enjoy watching our customers pull together their dream kitchen. My point is : there are many purchases that are required to bring it all together. When someone has a limited budget (pretty much everyone) it helps to look at all the costs - to determine where the money will be spent. That kind of planning will allow someone to "see", that their expensive countertop is eating into their flooring budget, or vice versa. Uncle Brian

My initial conversation went well. Brian Jr. was knowledgeable and responsive. He referred me to a contract carpenter they used for this type of job. We set up a time for the estimate. Scott came over, explained why it would be a custom job (undersized door) and gave me a range for repair cost. Then, things went downhill. He never followed up with an actual estimate. Please don't waste my time coming over to the house, if you don't want to do the work.

Thanks for your review and feedback. We started recommending a few contractors recently because we received lots of requests for them (referrals) when we tell folks we are too busy to take on new work. We recommend companies that do quality work and have a track record of honesty. Let me explain exactly what I mean by honesty - contractors have a sixth sense when it comes to folks who know little or nothing about a given project. Some will take advantage of the situation and work on the customers' wallet rather than their bathroom project. This is the type of '"con"tractor we avoid at all costs. As a contractor myself, I know a little about the ins and outs of this business. One of the pitfalls that is difficult to steer clear of is expressed well by this frustrated member. Here's how it goes - I'm on a job that's moving along well, tonight I have an estimate and there are currently 19 jobs on the books, some of them almost complete, most of them future projects. Everything is going as planned and suddenly, there are several problems that arise – like a storm – seemingly out of nowhere. When these “storms” happen, we go into hyper drive, we deal with the most pressing issue first and then attempt to knock down our “to do“ list to a manageable size. It is my experience that this is the time when a few items can fall thru the cracks. Sometimes an “item” turns out to be a customer - sitting and waiting - to no avail. It’s easy to over promise in this business, as contractors we become accustomed to saying “yes” to folks and sometimes that can get us into a bit of trouble! I do my best to avoid over promising and focus on over delivering – this scenario has worked out well over the years. We’ll have a conversation “in house” as to whether it’s worth recommending other companies to folks. We may discontinue this practice entirely because it’s not one we can manage effectively and has a tendency to bite us from time to time. Of course, we will be talking to this fellow to determine exactly what transpired and this nice lady has our apologies for her hassle. Lastly, Uncle Brian’s has 6 “F” grades on the books currently, 5 of these grades were from people we never worked for. It seems to me like “the folks” either love us or hate us. I guess we have more work ahead of us in terms of improving our little company. Uncle Brian

Thanks for your Review!! This project came in at $5500 which was high for a double French door project, my clients decided on custom made Poplar French Doors to replace their poor quality slider. We reviewed the options with them before they chose their doors. It's always pricey to go with custom made doors, but when the budget allows, most folks are happy with their choice and feel they got their moneys worth. That's really where the rubber meets the road, I always want our customers to feel they got their moneys worth and more. I don't like to quote a low price and then tack on extras at every turn. I'd rather quote a price that will cover the projects costs and end up under budget, that is not that unusual at UBHI. We will usually do the "extras" our customers want at little or no extra charge when the budget allows. No one seems to mind this, and everyone likes the "freebies" we provide when there's money left over to pay for them. We just finished a Kitchen remodel for a nice couple in Longmont, they were going to do their powder room remodel themselves, not because they wanted to, but in order to save money. When we were almost done with the kitchen remodel, we looked at our numbers and realized we had enough left over to do their powder room too! They were surprised that we offered to get it done at no extra charge, and we were happy to make this family believers. We're not in business to break the bank, we're here to assist our customers, to get them the home they want at a reasonable price, and when things work out, to go beyond our promises. We walk a fine line between keeping our company strong enough to assist the next customer and doing what we can to dazzle our present ones. We know what it feels like to be ripped off, and we will never do this to our clients, not as long as I have something to say about it. Thanks to angieslist for another great year! Uncle Brian

My experience was FANTASTIC!!!! Uncle Brian met with me to discuss what we wanted to do our kitchen. He spent over an hour discussing all our options. Then he came back to do final measurements. He made suggestions that saved a lot of money for example on our floor. I would never of picked the flooring option he recommended on my own. Now I think it is better than any tile or other hard surface. Uncle Brian took a half a day on a Saturday to spend with me looking at counter tops at various stores. He also help me sell my old kitchen cabinets and appliances by posting them on Craig's list, coming up with fair prices and fielding phone calls. He was in constant communication through out the process letting me know status on every phase. Over the years I have had many contractor experiences that ranged from horrible to mediocre. Uncle Brian is the best there ever was. We have already begun plans to have him back next year to start another project. I would never use anyone else.

Wow! Rarely, does a review leave me speechless and a little teary. Well- maybe not speechless. When I first met with (deleted member name), she already had a nice kitchen and I was a bit surprised she wanted to start from scratch. Most kitchens we redo are past their usefulness and ready for the dumpster. As we approach the finish line on (deleted member name) project, I can see that although her last kitchen was functional, it certainly fell far short of her new custom one. It thrills me to take someone's vision or dream and turn it into reality, especially when they are as fun to work for as (deleted member name)! After 30 years of transforming peoples houses into homes, I've dealt with every possible personality. When we have the pleasure of working with someone as nice as (deleted member name), I can relax and perform at my best. Demanding folks are usually a little unreasonable, they make it difficult to shine, because of the unnecessary tension that's always just under the surface. Think about it, if you had the choice to work for a easy going person or a demanding one, which one would you want to please more. I usually can't wait to finish and move on to the next project when dealing with the latter. Why am I sharing this with you all? I believe that some folks think they need to be demanding to get their money's worth and the best possible result. In my experience, if you need to resort to this type of behavior with your contractor, you've chosen the wrong one. That's not to say that there's never a time to insist on better performance or request that something be redone. Unreasonable expectations, I believe, are a force that get a lot of folks all worked up during the renovation process. What is a reasonable period of time to go from start to finish on a given project? What should the homeowner do to facilitate the process? Let's face it, Remodeling can be stressful, good communication with your team is a critical component in keeping things on track, on time and on budget. Expecting nothing to go awry is an unreasonable position to hold. Something will go wrong, the cabinets will be delivered with minor flaws and the faucet might need to be swapped due to a small leak. This is a part of every project, setbacks that need to be dealt with in order to get to the finish line successfully. We're almost to that treasured finish line on (deleted member name) project. It's been nearly four weeks since we showed up at her door ready to get to work. In that time, we demoed her kitchen, relocated lights - outlets and switches, added a gas line (for her new dual fuel range), installed her new cabinets with crown moldings and under cabinet lighting, installed temporary countertops and sink, installed new premium vinyl flooring in the kitchen, laundry room and foyer, installed all new appliances, installed granite countertops, installed her new under mount sink and faucet, installed tile back splash and placed her old cabinets on craigslist for sale. We still need to install 4 more pull out trays that have been on back order and install under cabinet moldings. I hope to have her kitchen completed, soup to nuts- in the next few days, bringing this job to a conclusion in just under five weeks. We could have done it a little faster, but- people get colds and snow happens! Uncle Brian

They did very poorly. No real story at all. They responded to me very professionally 3 or 4 times (enough to determine the scope and value of the work). Then.. nothing. I can only conclude that the job was too small to interest them. And honestly, that is fine but they should have let me know so that I wouldn't be waiting for them to get back to me. I take Angie's List very seriously and have had good results in the past. This experience surprises me a lot.
Description of Work: We never got that far. After answering their questions about the scope of the work via several emails. They stopped communicating after learning that I only wanted them to install an exterior door.

I am looking for ideas on flooring but I was thinking of tiles. Thanks, [member's name removed] There are times when potential customers give us too much information ( as many as 15 pages in their first email) and then there are times when potential customers give us virtually no information. We try our best to answer every customer in a timely manner. Sometimes it takes us a couple of days to get back to people. We’ve done many exterior door jobs, so it’s not that this job was too small. We didn’t know until his last email on April 30th at 9:38 a.m. that he was burglarized. We actually didn’t read the email until the following morning (there are times when we can’t get to all emails on the same day). Communication with our current customers always takes precedence over any new inquiries, since we’ve made commitments to them and we take that very seriously. The best thing about angieslist (in my opinion), is that the two parties (customer and contractor) have a venue to air their experience- and you the reader gets to decide (judge) for yourself. Is the customer being reasonable – were they treated poorly or unprofessionally – resulting in a well- deserved “f” grade? Are they jumping the gun or possibly misusing the powerful tool bestowed to them by angieslist? Whatever the case, it’s up to you, and you alone to decide. Whether you request a quote for your upcoming project, for all practical purposes, is what’s at stake. Certainly, you’d like to avoid unscrupulous “ con” tractors, who find ever more creative ways to cheat people out of their money instead of working for it. As I said, you’re the reason folks spend their time explaining their experiences. If you’d allow me to put a spotlight on this one, I’d like to offer a few pointers to see if we can avoid this type of situation in the future. The member reached out to us for the first time on Monday of this past week. He mentioned he had work he wanted done on his home (very vague). He included his phone number, which was very good on his part. Our office called me several times to discuss his emails, unfortunately, they failed to relay the fact that he included his number. I would have probably called him and discovered he was a victim of a burglary – possibly on Day 1. Score 1 for the potential customer. I would have explained to him that we are not equipped to offer emergency service to folks who’ve been burglarized and offered some recommendations on other contractors who might be able to assist him quickly. Folks that contact us with very limited information thru email, set themselves up for a longer conversation. We normally go three or four rounds – over a period of 2 to 3 days asking questions, in order to get them the information they’re seeking. If you’re ever a victim of a burglary and need assistance – Quickly – CALL 5 or more companies and briefly explain your circumstance. They don’t need a lot of detail concerning the break in, just your present condition and immediate needs. Be calm – some of these companies will over charge if they sense you’ll pay any amount for prompt service. Ask them if their schedule would allow them to offer immediate assistance, and if not, could they recommend a company who could help out for a reasonable fee. Using multiple forms of communication is always preferable to one. So, two days passed before this member informed of his situation. I understand his frustration, but would recommend an entirely different approach - next time. We are actually able to accommodate folks with small jobs more quickly than those with bigger projects, these smaller jobs "fit" better between our larger projects. We were never told of the size of the flooring project, so we couldn't determine the size of this members project, by the information provided. We apologize for not calling this member promptly, but we cannot guess which folks have a serious or more pressing situation - requiring a quick response. Uncle Brian

When we moved into our house, the front door had all sorts of problems and we did not even have keys to the back two doors. Brian walked us through the process of picking out a new door and locks and finding us quotes on doors (we needed an oversized door which had to be specially ordered). When the door came in, he removed the old door and reinstalled the new door, replaced the trim around the door, painted the door, and re-keyed all the locks to match. The door looks fantastic and works great. He was very professional and definitely very experienced and knowledgeable with his area. We definitely want to have Brian help us with future projects. I would highly recommend him (sorry it took us so long to write the review!).

Thanks for the nice review! Always a pleasure helping nice folks make their home special. The builders do a nice job, these days, on the structure of the home (most of the time), but fall short when it comes to the details. We add the finishing touches and allow our customers to personalize their home and make it their own. We get a lot of satisfaction throughout this process, it always neat to watch folks customize "their space". Keying locks alike is a small detail, but one that makes life a little bit easier, and one that makes most people happy. I'm always on the lookout for those "little things" that make a difference in peoples' lives. Shopping with folks and helping them "pick out" their materials is another area I've found that makes people feel good, so we shop and shop and try to make it into a fun experience! Enjoy The Spring! THANKS for your review and your patience! [member name removed] requested we install transom windows above her existing windows last winter. Her project was complicated because of the exterior - stone veneer and masonry stucco. I explained that we'd need to create the openings and then order her new windows. She agreed to our plan of action and now has her beautiful new windows. This project started back in late January and was just completed two weeks ago. We knew going in that we were up against a difficult job and some difficult weather. We couldn't have had a successful conclusion if [member name removed] would have rushed the process. She didn't and I think she's glad she didn't! Uncle Brian

The finished job exceeded my expectations, even though there were a few knicks in the drywall, but what could I expect with installing a sheet over glass approx. 16 feet long? Uncle Brian was very responsive and showed up on time and finished the job at the estimate he gave me. I was very pleased with the job and for his willingness to "think outside the box," and give me what I really wanted, even though all the other contractors I contacted for estimates said it couldn't be done.
Description of Work: I have vaulted ceilings in my master bedroom/bathroom and the wall doesn't go all the way to the ceiling between the rooms. Even though it looks nice, it does nothing for privacy or heat and I wanted to finish the wall. I didn't want to have it drywalled, because I like the asthetics of it, but I needed a sound/heat barrier. Uncle Brian was able to give me an estimate and suggestions all through cell phone pictures, which was very convenient, especially for my busy schedule. Uncle Brian came up with a solution of framing off the area and installing safety glass. Getting the huge sheet of glass into the room proved to be quite a task, but there were 7 men on site to get the job done without any incidences.

Thanks for your Review!! I like to try new things and do things a little different when the situation calls for something a bit out of the ordinary. As long as it doesn't involve cutting corners or going outside of safety codes. Every once in a while, a customer will ask me to do something kooky that violates building code or common sense safety concerns. I recently had such a conversation with a customer who wanted me to install old fashioned saloon style doors in his basement doorway. I explained to him that a swinging door cannot swing over a staircase due to safety issues and was definitely against building code. He explained he wasn't concerned about the codes and wanted that type of door in that location. I attempted to reason with him, suggesting it could also be dangerous for his small children. When I realized I wasn't making any headway, I told him I couldn't install a saloon door at the top of his stairs and hoped he'd reconsider. The point of the story is ... I have a responsibility to my clients to be the professional, at times, that means saying " no" I can't do that. Sure, I want to please our customers, but sometimes it's more important to do what's right and risk the consequences. On a similar front We make a lot of commitments to our customers, they deserve our best efforts and respect. At times, we get more requests for estimates and services than we can handle. We do our best to get back to folks in a timely manner, but we always maintain our focus on the job at hand. Sometimes, that upsets some people. The point of the story... If we dropped everything and ran over to assist this person in distress, what would stop another caller from grabbing our attention with a better story or bigger wallet? My point is this - We've made commitments to folks, they've waited for their turn "at bat", sometimes for as much as 3 months! I won't let a demanding consumer jump in front of them, it's that simple. If you visit the amusement parks these days, they have special passes to allow folks to jump in front of others waiting in line. I hope we (Uncle Brian's) never resort to this type of tactic. I for one thinks it's a bit rude. Now don't misunderstand, I'm not suggesting that folks should wait patiently while their basement is filling with water due to a ruptured pipe. Other businesses deal with these kinds of emergencies. We don't usually deal with this type of call and we're not set up to handle it quickly. When something happens that requires our immediate attention, we handle it - but we can't allow this on a routine basis. I believe our customers deserve better. Thanks for allowing me to vent! I'm so pleased (member name removed) and his wife were happy with their "new" bedroom and elated we could get it done on budget and time. Uncle Brian and Family
