Longs Peak Lawn Care

My HOA contracted with Longs Peak for the 2021 landscaping season. They were to mow weekly, clean up yard waste weekly, and do a major fall cleanup. Longs Peak sold their business to Green Earth Midwest LLC, who doesn't seem to have a business name besides Longs Peak. Green Earth mowed and did almost no clean up during the season, and did about half of the fall cleanup they were contracted to do that we paid them for. If you want a landscaping service that does no clean up that you have contracted for, these are the folks you want. If you want the ugliest most unkempt landscaping in town, hire these people.

Longs Peak Landscape did the landscaping for my home. The homebuilder had contracted with them for the front yard and I decided to use them for the back yard. Though I believe the company is capable of doing excellent work, their customer service sucks. My landscape plan included two Colorado Blue Spruce trees. When the Colorado Blue Spruce trees were planted, they didn't look blue but as a layperson - not expert in landscaping - I assumed they would turn blue when they matured. After a year or two of growth, the trees were still very green - not the beautiful blue that most people expect with that variety of tree. I called the owner of Longs Peak Landscape Mike DePriest for an explanation. He said 'Oh, if you wanted a blue Colorado Blue Spruce, you should have asked for them.'! My response was that I did not know BLUE spruce came in any color other than BLUE. Ultimately Mike told me it was my fault and tough luck - he would be happy to replace them at my cost. You have got to be kidding me - how many people would know that there is even such a thing as a blue spruce that isn't blue?! Give me a break. Point is, this is not a 'good faith' company'. I would have expected a full replacement and apology - especially in light of the approximate $20,000 project and the very nice profit margins the company enjoys.

From start to finish, Longspeak Landscape has been a great experience and transformed my front and backyard. Specifically, Craig, Manuel and their team were incredible. Professional, prompt, hard working, responded quickly, listened and created exactly what I wanted done and more! They explained everything to me start to finish, made plans and followed through. They knocked out my whole home in a week! The transformation was beautiful! Overall, I am extremely happy with what Longspeak Landscape did for us and I can't wait to work with them again in the future. Thank you Craig!!!

We had Longs Peak do our landscaping and could not be more disappointed. Well over $100k project and half our trees are dead, half our plants and bushes are dead, every rose bush is dead, weeds growing everywhere, grass is dying, huge ditch running down the middle of my yard because they have no concept of what level means and the sprinkler and drip systems have multiple leaks. After the 1 year period they will not return a phone call or answer any of the multiple emails that we sent. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone!

I love that this company was able to schedule me on somewhat short notice after another local contractor never showed up for the job. My experience was great from start to finish, starting with the 1st phone call. I believe that it was LuAnn (sp?) that I spoke with who was very friendly and professional. She set me up for a fairly specific time range, and followed up with confirmation emails. I can't say enough about the awesome Michael, who worked really hard while here, and made sure I was happy with the job. I will call only them in the future.

He was responsive and on time but seemed resentful that I was not there earlier than the appointment like he was and charged me for extra time. He did some really good things like turning on the system and adjusting the wires (but system still didn't work but not his fault). He did not fix the timer properly so the sprinkler that works goes on in the evening instead of am. And he turned off a pouring water issue that the internet left when they did an install (found the knob, and turned it).

After signing the contract, we have had three instances of snow in the Longmont area where the service was supposed to be performed based on the agreement I had signed. In neither case did Longs Peak come out and shovel. When I sent an e:mail to complain about the lack of service (and the lack of communication), the office manager apologized for the failure and indicated that the snow removal supervisor was going to contact me to see what the problem was and hopefully achieve resolution. I did not hear from the snow removal supervisor in spite of the office managers assurances to the contrary, and the service basically left my elderly mother stranded in her home with no safe way to get down her walk. Since I was out of town, there was nothing I could do to help!

If you are looking for a landscaping company that listens to its customers, is responsive and returns phone calls, and a company that follows through on their commitments - do not choose Longs Peak Landscape. If you are looking for a company with the skills to provide quality landscaping services, a company that honestly cares about the end result - do not choose Longs Peak Landscape. In April 2011 I hired Longs Peak Landscape to grade, install an irrigation system, lay sod & mulch. Total cost was a little more than $11K. We selected Longs Peak because the owner, Mike DePriest, presented himself and his company as honest, dedicated to performing quality work, responsive, and willing to resolve any concerns that may arise. Unfortunately our experience did not meet his commitment. During the construction phase, LPL severed the phone line to our house. They severed the cable line, which was buried 12? deep and marked. The water main cover was broken into pieces. Work was done in the basement to tap into the main water line; that work was never completed (mounting pipe hangers) or cleaned up. The company made no effort to address or resolve any of these issues. The company installed the wrong variety of sod in the front yard and was unaware of the mistake. They could not verify what type of sod it was; they were just ?installing what was loaded on the truck.? They didn?t care; it was left up to me to call the sod company and confirm it was the wrong type of grass. A neighbors? sprinkler head was destroyed by LPL; they replaced the sprinkler head with a different brand. The replacement head extended about three inches above ground and was destroyed the first time the neighbor mowed his lawn. My neighbor had to purchase and install a new sprinkler head himself. Looking back on the job, my primary concerns are: Communication difficulties during construction. Longs Peak Landscape didn?t care about my input or concerns. Every day there was a different person in charge. Frequently there were no English speaking employees on site and communication was impossible. Poor sprinkler coverage. I was assured that sprinkler design was one of the company?s strengths. Mike made a commitment that if there were any coverage issues post installation he would address them. Unfortunately there are multiple areas of dead grass in my yard due to insufficient coverage. We overwater many areas to get sufficient water to other areas, and have to water by hand frequently. This costs me time and money. LPL has been unable and unwilling to resolve. Lack of responsiveness. Good luck getting this company to respond to phone calls or e-mails. Grading: The side yard is not a consistent grade and does not drain properly. Grading not completed prior to laying sod. Raking was not completed. The grass is not a consistent grade and water pools up instead of draining properly. Once I paid LPL, they stopped communicating with me. Their primary concern is getting paid, not meeting their commitments or satisfied customers. Find a company that cares about your project, not just about getting paid. Be careful ? Longs Peak Landscape has a strong sales pitch, but they can not/will not meet their commitments.
