The day of the first appointment, I waited all day, but no one showed or called to say they would not be coming. Just as I was thinking of looking for someone else, I received a call 3 days later saying they hadn't come because the ground was too wet and would come on Thursday of that week instead. The reasoning is fine, but the lack of a phone call on the day of the appointment was disappointing as I had stayed home the entire day. The following Thursday, once again, no one showed up or called. I waited the entire day. On Saturday I called and spoke with their answering machine. I left a message explaining that I was disappointed they had not come or called for a second time and asking when or if they were planning on coming. While irritated over losing two days, I was not angry nor rude in my message, but did ask that someone call me back and let me know what was going on. In response, the owner called back and without any reason or preamble, told me that he had decided he would not be able to do the work-no apologies, no reason. I am now in a position of starting over looking for someone to come and do the work-but at least I now have an opportunity to find someone who will do a good job and not waste my time with promises they are unable to fulfill. As someone who has trained Customer Service for years, I will be curious to see what type of excuse the company, if any, would give for the manner in which they have chosen to run their company. I can only assume there is a lot of work to be had in the Spring and no worries about return business.
Description of Work: I arranged to have this company aerate my lawn and clean my gutters. A bid was given based upon my location and a google map view of my home, which I accepted and the owner agreed to come and do the work. I had hoped to use this as a preliminary run with the company before speaking to them about doing a number of landscaping jobs I have planned for this year. Another company did come to my home and give me a bid on the aeration and the additional work, but I had already committed to the aeration with Greenworks at that point and decided to wait.
