Lucky Duct

The crew was great. They finished up a job early and called to see if they could come early. The cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. They did not try to sell me anything more than what I had purchased, but provided great education for me on my system and how best to operate it.

The service was okay. I wouldn't recommend using them. I remembered when he left here, he kind of hid air lines instead of taking it when he was done from his compressor, take them outside and drain the moisture out of them. I see it just running in my basement. I thought I had pipes leaking cause there's fairly large amount of water down there. He didn't protect my hardwood floors.

The owner of the company came out to help. He was very polite on the phone when I called for an appointment. After asking what the need was, he was able to come right out, even though he was very busy. He had another home in our area and was nice to link our visit with theirs. Very efficient and wonderful to deal with!

It was okay, they never really showed me the pictures of the duct work afterwards. So, there is no way really of my knowing. I just kept close to them, and they were always selling themselves really hard. Which, I guess might have been a little over. The job that was done, I am just assuming that it was done well. They also tell you over and over that, to do a good job takes time and costs money. Basically, they were not any fly by knight company. The people who came over to do the work were good and efficient.

These guys are unbelievably good! What sticks out the most is that they want to be a partner to the home owner. They will advise the home owner of how to fix simple issues on one's own without being asked to do so--Awesome. They are on-time, on-point and reasonable with their fees. Did I mention that they will show the owner how to fix a problem so that if one has the issue again one can avoid the expense of a professional repair?? Worth every penny to have them work on your HVAC system! BTW, this Is the second time they worked on our system. The first time, they fixed all the stuff Patriot Heating and A/C claimed could not be fixed and claimed needed to be replaced for $10,000!!!! Uh yeah, they fixed everything to our delight for $150.00! Call these guys. Whatever you do: DO NOT CALL PATRIOT!

The representative I spoke with was very knowledgeable about the heating and cooling system in my house. I was not home when they did the work but I feel like the work was done properly. I have been trying to contact them regarding paying and another job, but they have not returned my calls.

First i registered for the service on 30-Aug-2013. But, some how in last minute, owner called me and said he will not be able to make it because of resources are not available. He said he will be able to come on any day in long weekend -- and given me 25$ off from the price for the inconvenience. I liked the honesty and requested him to come on 1-Sep-2013. He was very good -- completed the installation well under 2 hours and explained me every thing on how to run the humidifier in winter time period. If given the chance and better price, i will use the services again.

When purchasing a newly remodeled home, the AC unit froze up and also spit water out the back off the unit, flooding the basement and new carpet! While inspecting the system, Andrew noted the system was "over sized" for the duct work in the house. The return air system was not large enough to accommodate the unit's cooling capacity, and additionally there were not enough air return vents in the rest of the house to support optimum air flow. Mike was able to install three new air return vents to increase airflow through the house. Additionally, the original installers placed a "fresh air vent" in the furnace room, but left it directly touching a copper water pipe. In the winter this would have likely resulting in a frozen pipe! (careless). They were able to relocate the air vent away from the pipe to mitigate the problem. Because the AC unit had frozen over in the past, Andrew offered the option (which I agreed to) to install a safety device called a "freeze stat". This unit detects when the unit is about to freeze over and shuts it off for 5-10 minutes while it warms back up. As he explained, although this does "hide the issue", it does keep my basement from being flooded by a block of ice melting off my AC unit. We discuss the pros and cons of the device and I decided I wanted it "just in case". Under normal operations it will never activate, but I like knowing it's there. Lastly, the original installer neglected to protect the low voltage wire to the AC unit, creating a situation where eventually it would crack and become brittle. There were able to enclose the wire in a UV protected sleeve to avoid an future problem.

I was preparing to buy a house that was a "flip". This new house had issues with the brand new AC and Furnace and I did not trust the seller/vendor to give me the full picture. I was on a very tight timeline and Andrew was able to squeeze me in for a last minute emergency inspection for a very reasonable fee. He was able to talk me through the system, show me a few things to be corrected and aware. I was able to take this information and go back to the original installer and have those issues resolved.

After buying my new house I needed the ducts cleaned. There was lots of construction on the property from the "flip" and the installer of the new AC/Furnace found a dead rabbit in my air returns! Andrew and Mike came out and thoroughly cleaned 2 floors plus a basement worth of vents. I have had the cleaning before and they find amazing nastiness and get rid of it. No more blowing dust and mildew and hair and whatever else throughout my house. They are detailed, careful and effective.

I have used Lucky Duct in the past for a furnace service/tune-up and duct cleaning. That went very well. I called them back up because I was preparing to sell my house and wanted to have the furnace "certified" to give the potential buyer comfort that the furnace was safe and in good working order. He did a thorough check and found there was a CO (Carbon Monoxide) build up in the unit and surrounding enclosure. Using a specialize instrument was able to find the source of the CO as back pressure on the exhaust vent. This was caused by a damaged roof vent, which I suspect was damaged by another vendor during unrelated work. Andrew was able to repair the roof vent, re-tested, and verified there was no more CO. He was able to certify the furnace for my buyer. I have since worked with Lucky Duct 3 more times, all with satisfaction. If you need furnace or AC work, call these guys!

Company scheduled the cleaning for approx. 2 weeks after I called. The 2 men were prompt, thoroughly professional, and I am pleased with the results. They were at my house for about 2 hours, and afterward they made a suggestion for improved furnace circulation by using a different filter.

He was polite, on-time, and did a good job.

Initial communication with the inside sales staff was excellent. They offered a very thorough explanation of the cleaning method used and how negative air compared to other vent cleaning processes. Took the time to answer all my questions professionally and courteously. Service tech (Andrew) was on time, professional and knew his job. He went to great pains to make sure that he cleaned up after himself and took the time to show me what he was able to dredge up out of the vents. Great company to deal with.

I've had a good experience with them. He was great. There were no additional charges. They basically gave me $40 worth of work.

Everything went fine. They were very good, I was pleased with the service and the price. I called on Thursday to schedule an appointment; at that time he gave me suggestions over the phone on how I could try to correct the problem. It is a 12 year old unit and he had to replace the capacitor, charge it with freon and clean it out.

The person came out the next morning at a discounted price (Angie's List coupon). He said that there was a coolant leak and that it would cost about $1200 to fix. When I told him I wanted to check with the company that installed the air conditioner to see if there was any warranty coverage, he told me that the capacitor was also not working and would cost $140 to replace. I refused that service because it would not have made the air conditioner usable anyway with a coolant leak. It turned out there was no warranty coverage. I had another company come out because I wanted a second opinion. They verified that there was a coolant leak. They also found the capacitor sitting outside of the air conditioner. They tested it and found it to be OK and reinstalled it. The repairs did cost just under $1200 from this other company, but it also included a one year maintenance plan for that air conditioner / heating unit. I checked with them on a capacitor replacement price and they said it would be $160 because they use a higher quality capacitor that will not go defective easily like less expensive capacitors do. Of course, cheap capacitors can be purchased online for about $30 or less. Even if they have to replaced 4 times as often, they are still cheaper that what repair people will charge. Lucky Duct was reasonable on pricing and came out quickly, but saying I needed a capacitor when I didn't and trying to sell me one when it would not be useful even if was truly broken is a deal breaker. I simply am not able to trust them to deal with me honestly. That's why I would not use them again.

Fantastic! Andrew called to let me know he was on his way and was prompt arriving. They checked everything-outside connections, fluid levels, inside intakes and vents and connections. Very efficient and personable. Took the time to explain and even gave me a heads-up on a possible future problem- what to watch for and what to do if it happens. Definitely my choice for future work.

Very responsive to concerns with my duct system, and easy to get a hold of, crew arrived on time and worked without damaging any of my belongings.

Wasn't at home when services were being done. My mother was at resident and said they showed up on time and reported no issues.

Lucky Duct was good. The guy was really nice and the service was good. I have nothing bad to say. He has been very busy and we had to wait a little bit. He was still efficient and good. He was fine. He was friendly but he was not like super happy. It didn't seem like he loved his job that much. But he did his job and he did a good job.

I have an old (1958) ranch home with about 17 vents. I purchased the whole house cleaning deal for $339. I was informed when I made the appointment that they could also check the furnace blower, but that would be an extra $95 if it was dirty and if I wanted them to clean that, too. They also asked about the vent covers -- I have the vertical painted kind, and they told me that some of the paint might chip off when they removed them. I expected that, as I've painted them myself after removing them. I really appreciated that they thought of these things to mention before they came, so there would be no surprises. The furnace is 8 years old, and the ducts had never been cleaned (55 years), so I figured everything would be gross -- and it was. They were punctual, professional, and efficient. They put everything back in place, and I didn't even notice any paint chips off the covers. I would definitely recommend Lucky Duct and would use them again. I appreciated what other people said about making sure the cats didn't go in the vents while they were open, so I put the cats in a safe place before the vent cleaning started!

I've used them 3 times. First time I called them was for a humidifier. He seemed like he was really honest about why I should go with one versus another. He was giving me logical reasons why this particular product should work better or it doesn't have as many side effects. I trusted him. He seemed honest and down to earth. He works really hard. Now it seemed like he's doing a good job. I hear some buzzing when I'm not using the air conditioner so I just called him to ask if it was normal and he said he'll come out to check it. I really appreciated that because he's really busy right now. He's on time to check it out and make sure I was happy and that's why I recommend him.

Very professional and easy to work with. And using Angie's List pre-paid was easiest experience I've ever had.
