The estimate did not go well. He did not listen to my desires. Had a bad attitude the whole time. The bid was way over priced. He said he would send me information when he got home which I never received

The entire process was smooth and Steve did a great job communicating with us during all phases of the work. The project was a gut job and the transformation was outstanding. There were a few surprises during an inspection that were handled exceptionally well. I would recommend Steve highly and plan to use him again in the future.
Description of Work: Steve remodeled our very 1980s bathroom and brought it into this century. It looks amazing and he did a great job.

Steve approaches his work with attention to detail as though he is working on his own home. He wants everything done correctly. Steve is an excellent communicator. He provides ongoing project updates and double checks to make sure that you and he are on the same page. He ensures that subcontractors complete their tasks. Steve offers ideas that can enhance your project. For example, he asked if I would like an outlet in a drawer so that my hair dryer could remain plugged in and tucked away. I love that idea and it is works great. Additionally, Steve keeps all work areas tidy and clean. We will most definitely hire Steve for future home renovation projects, large and small. He is a pleasure to work with and his professionalism and expertise are exceptional.

He was great. He explained in detail all of my options. It is a much bigger project than my current budget. He kindly gave me a ballpark figure. I was very appreciative that he was willing to come out, take the time to explain and let me know up front what it might cost since I really didn't know. When I plan these changes in the future, he'd be my first call.

Steve was amazing...We called last min and Steve just happened to be available. Our current kitchen cabinets fit only a single oven and I had purchased a double oven that needed to fit. I have never been so pleased... when Steve was done, it looked like it had always belonged there. He was courteous and professional and I will use him for any other remodeling and carpentry projects I have. Steve ya saved us!!! Thanks!!

Steve is meticulous about details of his work. He is an excellent carpenter and likes things to be right. I really appreciated being able to point out if something was other than expected and he always addressed those issues. Our project started out a little slow with some cabinets (purchased independently) that got lost. We also had some initial communication problems surrounding the installation of a downdraft vent. Everything eventually was worked out to our satisfaction. We absolutely love our kitchen and highly recommend Steve and Wildwood Renovations.
Description of Work: Steve demoed our kitchen including some walls and completely remodeled the kitchen. He had to patch the hardwood floor since the footprint for the cabinets was a little different. We had hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, living room, and hall (all contiguous). Steve sub-contracted for all of these to be refinished once the patching was complete. Wiring and plumbing had to be upgraded and rerouted. New cabinets installed along with all appliances. Steve worked with the another provider for the installation of the granite countertop. Also did the drywall, texture, and paint. He installed tile backsplash and replaced the floor in 2 of our entryways and laundry closet and installed hardwood stairs.

The remodel turned out even better than we had hoped. Steve was very attentive to detail, and great at communicating what was going on - at all times we felt like we had a clear understanding of how things were proceeding. We went over budget, at our choosing, but only because the small suggestions that Steve made to improve the overall project were so well-thought out and resulted in a much better finished product, that we feel we will more than recoup our investment should we ever decide to sell our home. We would warn anyone who has never done a project like this, expect the project to take longer than you initially anticipate. Steve did everything he could do to keep everything on schedule, but you have to expect that unforeseen things will come up (sick subcontractors, supply issues, etc) that will push back the completion date. The proof of a great contractor is when these things happen, your contractor is on top of them, gives you options when the problems arise, and does everything in his power to keep work moving ahead. His design ideas were beyond what we had thought of, but we couldn't be happier with the finished project. And on top of that, he made every effort to keep our home clean and livable during the duration of the construction. He was very pleasant and professional, and we would not hesitate to call on him again or recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Moved laundry service from basement to main floor (adding a laundry closet to a 1/2 bath), and added a full bath with whirlpool tub in the former unfinished laundry space in the basement.

Steve displayed the highest level of professionalism throughout the entire project. He was prompt for the estimate, listened to what I wanted, and offered advice and suggestions. When the scheduled start date was delayed due to weather, he informed me of the new start date. Steve and his crew paid attention to detail when performing the work, brought up all issues to me for discussion on how best to perform the work, and did not leave anything questionable as is. Wildwood has a high level of conscious for performing the work correctly and leaving the job well done. Big thanks!!

We hired Steve to put a backsplash above the kitchen counter and work on two closets. He did an outstanding job on both projects. While he was here, we further contracted with him to regrout our kitchen floor and various small repairs around the home. Steve did a great job on everything. We would not hesitate to call him for future jobs.

Steve at Wildwood Renovations LLC did good, quality work. He initially quoted me a couple hundred dollars then wanted to charge me $600.00+ but we came an agreement of $400.00+. He was not good at communicating price even when I asked him. He didn't answer me and then at the end he gave me a high invoice. He kind of cheaped out at the end on the trim on the outside but he overall he did get the door installed and it looks nice.

Description of Work: Steve hung an entry front door on our 1960 home. He did excellent work and his skill in his trade shined in the final product. Quality was not sacrificed. His communication on the price as the job carried on was not the best. Also the initial bid on the job was very low relative to final price. In the end Steve was very accomodating and easy to work with. He made sure I was a happy customer and we left on good terms. I would work with him again and recommend to anyone who needs a highly skilled handyman.

It went great! I remodeled our basement a while ago. When it came to the bathroom, there were several things I had never done before and I got stalled in doing the "finished" work. I asked Steve to come and do the finish work - baseboards, some tilework, fix a door that I couldn't get right, and some paint. As he started the project, we discovered that there were several deficiencies in my initial work that required fixing. These things included things like connecting the hot and cold water backwards, breaking the shower pan, and installing the tub incorrectly. Some of these things required very creative solutions since fixing them sometimes involved essentially starting over. Now, when I look at the finished bathroom, I know that I could have NEVER completed the project. Steve's craftsman skills and general know-how made what was a mess, look professionally finished. I've worked with other contractors before but never with Steve's talent. I've used the word "craftsmanship" before - I could also describe it as artistic. Having tried to do some of this stuff myself, I understand how difficult it is to make projects look finished. As a result, I've promised my wife that I will stick to changing light bulbs and washing windows. I'll get Steve to do the real remodeling projects.
Description of Work: Steve remodelled our downstairs bathroom. It ended up being more complicated than it originally seemed because the initial contractor (MYSELF) was an idiot. Steve did a great job of not only figuring out creative and cost effective solutions, his attention to "making it look nice" was much appreciated. Steve was a pleasure with which to work - he did an excellent job of explaining what needed to be done and his work shows real CRAFTSMANSHIP. He is really good at what he does. I would not hesitate to recommend him and Wildwood Renovations to do other projects. Carpentry, plumbing, general remodeling, painting or whatever, Steve can do it.

This price included all of the contractors and materials that my kitchen remodel required, (electrician, plumber, etc.) Steve is an excellent craftsman, and I am tickled with my updated accomodations! In 2010 I bought a grandpa and grandma house, built in 1953, knowing that I wanted to modernize it by opening the kitchen to the dining room, and then opening up the back of the house by putting in a door and creating a back yard patio. Steve, from Wildwood renovations, did a beautiful job from the rough tear down to the the refined finish work. I had envisioned open walnut shelving on one of the walls. This was a custom request and I was pleased with the innovation that was brought to the challenge of creating this look. Oh, and the work site was always cleaned up at the end of every day, which I greatly appreciated. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for excellent craftsmanship and a flair for the creative all for a reasonable and fair price.
Description of Work: Tear down walls to the studs. insulate walls, create venting, drywall and texture new walls and ceiling. coordinate and work closely with plumber and electrician to keep the job moving according to schedule. Install cabinetry and hardware, appliances and door. Painting and attention to final finish touches.

There is no cost estimate above since he's done several jobs for us and I don't have a total, but he is very reasonably priced and more important, punctual and efficient! Everything was done when promised and looked beautiful. We've passed along his name to several friends, all of whom have been just as happy!
Description of Work: Steve performed a "face lift" on several areas of the house. He installed new hardwood flooring in our master bedroom and study, painted both rooms, put a cedar floor and new shelving into our walk-in closet and repainted there, painted the master bath, and installed new cooktop as well as a wine refrigerator in our kitchen. A new hanging light fixture with pot rack was installed there too. Steve is incredibly handy and also performed numerous small tasks around the house such as installing sliding shelves in the pantry, redoing sunbleached wood trim in several windows, fixing light fixtures, patching drywall dings and doing minor plumbing repairs.
