Brian returned my initial call within the same day, and was able to schedule an appointment to fit my schedule. He gave me a rough estimate of $75-95 to hang the chandelier, and about $200 to run a separate 120 volt line into the kitchen. He and his assistant showed up on time, ready to get to work. Once Brian arrived, he found that I had an unused 220 volt line, and converted it to 120 volts. This lowered the cost of the electrical wiring project from $200 to $65. The total cost was $140, and Brian offered a 10% discount for an Angie's List coupon that hadn't even gone into effect yet. Total cost was only $126, which was tremendously lower than I ever expected before I contacted an Electrician. Brian and his assistant Beth were knowledgeable, quick workers, courteous, and very concious about not tracking dirt or snow into my house. I feel that I've now found the Electrician I'll call if I ever need work done again!
Description of Work: Hung a chandelier in a 2-story foyer, and altered a 220 volt electrical line to 120 volt in the kitchen.

Main power switch in my rental unit broke early in the afternoon - thankfully the renter did it, not me! I knew no electricians so used my handy Angie's listing to find someone. I contacted Brian mid-afternoon and he made the trip after his last job of the day because he sensed I seriously wanted to restore power to my renters who were spending their second night in their new home. We were unable to restore power that night (the switch was installed in 1967; think it was a little difficult to access./remove??) but Brian returned the next morning with all the necessary parts and had everything going again in no time. Labor was very reasonable as he made two trips and he could not have been nicer or more professional. I would recommend Brian to anyone!

Brian came out to give us a free estimate of the work (other companies would only give a guestimate over the phone). Because the work we needed completed was quick work, he gave a flat fee estimate (I don't believe it was an hourly rate). There were several speaker wires hanging out of our walls that she showed me how to remove myself if preferred. Brian's estimate was far more reasonable than other companies. He was able to schedule the work when it was convenient for me. He arrived on time and discussed other electrical questions that had come up between when he came out fror the estimate and when he came out for the work. He began working right away and his apprentice arrived shortly thereafter. They completed the work in about an hour and a half and did a nice job of keeping me informed of when they would be turning power off to certain parts of the home. Because the work was completed sooner than he had anticipated, he adjusted the price down accordingly from his originial estimate. We will definitely continue to use Sundog Electric.
Description of Work: We had Brian fix an electrical outlet that was reversed, put several open splices in our attic into junction boxes, put a phone jack that was hanging out of a wall put back into the wall, and had antioxidant put on our main electrical box.

Brian and Beth did an excellent job. They walked us through the work to be done and made us aware of any minor changes as they were doing the job. They were able to install the cable jacks with minimal/no damage to the existing dry-wall. Perfect job. Highly recommended; will definitely use again.
Description of Work: Installed 3 cable jacks into 100-year old home; 1 on each floor, all into interior home walls. Removed old, unsightly wires that were previously stapled to exterior of house.

It was great working with Sundog. They answered all of our questions when they came out for a quote of the work. They left us with all the info to decide what we could afford to do at the time. When they came out to work the first time they were attacked by some bees near the work area. They were nice about it and we were able to reschedule with them. When they finally were able to start the panel took longer than expected to install so they were only able to finish that task that day. So we scheduled another appointment for the other work. The panel looks great and they cleaned up all the mess around it. They took about half a day to do all the minor things around the house like the fans, outlets, etc. They did a great job with all of the work. It was exactly what we requested. They did a great job again of cleaning up afterword. Overall they did great work and everything came in at the price they quoted. I'm sure I will be calling again when I need more work done.
Description of Work: Replaced a federal pacific electrical panel, added (but did not hang) 4 ceiling fans, added new grounded outlets, added GFCI outlet and added a new light switch.

I called Sundog for the first time long after their work hours to schedule an appointment to get a circuit in our house repaired. Our freezer was on the circuit and it was off while we were gone and all of the food was ruined. I expected to get an answering machine and was going to leave a message to ask for someone to come look at it. The first shock I had was that the phone was answered by Brian who then proceeded to ask a few questions about the problem and told me how to fix it easily myself within just a few minutes. I was amazed, I've never had a service provider do that before. All for no charge! He has all of my future business and hopefully yours too!
Description of Work: An entire circuit was out in our house and Brian troubleshot a problem over the phone with me and enabled me to fix it in a few minutes.

Fantastic, as always. We've worked with Brian now for three years and could not be happier. He called en route and showed up right when we expected him. He bought all of the materials ahead of time so everything was ready to go. Brian set about replacing the dimmers and hanging one fixture while his apprentice Beth assembled the fixture that arrived with about a thousand pieces and odd wires (sorry, Beth :). So easy to work with, from start to finish.
Description of Work: Replaced two chandeliers, one of which involved a lot of assembly and wiring. Replaced three dimmer switches and fixed a loose outlet. Cost included materials.

We are very pleased with Brian's and Beth's work. After finishing their job they even voluntered to fix my basement that had reverse polarity in some outlets. Both of them were very professional in their job.
Description of Work: we wanted to have 3 ceiling fans installed in our 1960's house. we got quotes from a couple of big names but Sundog came up with the most competitive quote. Not only did they do a super job ( it involved pulling the lines, assembling and installing the fans ) but went beyond their scope of work to help me out: i had some doubts about our electric panel. he gave me an honest and a straight answer and put my doubts to rest ! (some other companies used scare tactics )

It went great! He was punctual and easy to work with. He even fixed a little problem inside the house without charging me. The outlet in my bathroom would not work unless the light switch was on-so I could not use a night light. He fixed it by pulling off the light fixture and re-attaching the wires-a simple fix compared to the much more complicated fixes other electricians had proposed-such as running a new wire through my attic. We talked through the process of what needed to be done with my new electrical service and he consulted me about where to place the box and how he would run the new pipe to the garage. The previous pipe was an eye-sore. Brian came up with a creative and professional looking solution. Even though the trenching for the hot-tub was much more labor intensive than expected (really hard clay) he got the job done on time and cleaned up everything afterwards.
Description of Work: Service change from 150 amp, installed new mast, weather head and wires from top of meter box, installed new meter box, hooked up hot tub, removed old pipe feeding electrical to garage, installed new pipe and wires from service to garage, trenched from garage to hot tub to run wires and installed ground rod.

He was awesome. The traffic was terrible today, and he called to let me know he was running late. He looked over all of our electrical. He tightened one plug that was giving us trouble, fixed a couple of things in the breaker box, and also fixed the plug to our dryer that had not been installed correctly upon our recent move. He wouldn't take any money for those things at all. We decided that due to the age of the house and the handful of issues we had to date, we would benefit from a whole house surge protector. He promptly went back to his office to get it. The best thing about this company is that the estimates are truly free. If I wanted to shop around the surge protector, he wouldn't have charged me anything. In addition, even if I didn't do the surge protector, he would have not charged me for all the little things he did while he was here. Great customer service, which will pay off, because I know I will call him again any time I have a need for a electrician.
Description of Work: Brian came out simply to look at our electrical system. We just bought a 20 year old house, and we were worried about how the electrical was set up in the basement.

He repaired the ceiling fan pull switch using a part we had purchased. He brought two smoke detectors he had purchased but used the ones we had purchased stating it would be no problem that he used them all the time. He then installed a new timer that he brought to repair the attic fan timer. He cleaned up after himself and left no trash/problems behind. Everything worked as well.

FABULOUS! FANTASTIC! I don't know about everyone else, but when I call on electricians, plumbers etc. I always feel like I am going to get fleeced somehow. Well, when you call Sundog, rest assure that you are going to get excellent, prompt service for a very fair price. Brian and his team are dedicated to high quality work, outrageous customer service and a more than positive experience. I have hired them twice now and will continue to. He is upfront, quick to inform/respond and friendly. I would feel confident hiring Sundog for a small outlet replacement or for whole-house wiring. This company is truly one of the best I have found. My husband and I have had four homes that we have hired all sorts of tradesmen for. If you are looking for an electrician look no further!!!

Excellent. Best Electrician we've ever worked with. A wire had come loose on the doorbell so he didn't charge us anything. He removed the the two connected fluorescent lights, took them with him for proper disposal and helped us problem solve when he learned that it would be impossible to add another light because there was a window casing in the way. We moved a larger light from another bathroom, installed it, installed one of the smaller ones in the other bathroom and for less than the cost of the left over light fixture we were good to go. No dry wall damage and everything completed under an hour.
Description of Work: I called, discussed how we wanted to remove some fluorescent lighting in our bathrooms and didn't know what to do with them. I also mentioned my doorbell wasn't working, he quoted me a price for that too. We set up an appointment and he showed up about 5 minutes early with his apprentice, a nice young lady.

I needed a couple of outlets installed in my unfinished basement. I found Sundog Electrical (Brian) on Angie?s List along with several other companies. I called a few to get estimates and to check availability. Sundog?s estimate was the most reasonable and they did not charge me for a service call. A couple of the companies wanted to charge me $35-45 just for coming out, before doing any work. Based on the estimates and the positive reviews that I read on Angie?s List about Sundog, I scheduled for Brain to come out and put in the outlets. I then had to cancel my first appointment and Brain was very accommodating and was able to fit me into another appointment very quickly. The outlets were installed nice and neat, exactly the way I had asked. Brain did a great job at a reasonable price. I then hired Brain to install lighting fixtures (3 bathroom lights and 3 chandeliers (including the entry way which is about 20 feet high). On the day of the appointment Brain was punctual and took extra care with our floors (just had new floors put in). Brian and his assistant Beth did a great job installing all of the lights. When I came to look at the work they had completed, it definitely exceeded my expectations. Everything looked and worked great with no mess. I have not had the pleasure of meeting Brain in person (only speaking with him over the phone) as I my wife has been the one over-seeing the work. My wife has told me that Brain and his assistant Beth are; very pleasant, professional, extremely knowledgeable and very efficient. We are extremely pleased with the high level of service provided by Sundog (Brain & Beth). I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of electrical work.

Brian gave a cut and dry estimate for repair work to raise a power line between the house and garage and to run a couple new circuits into the basement and install wall outlets etc. His estimate was significantly cheaper than other two bids I received for the work. This is not only because he charges less for his services, rather he was more creative in his approach to solving my problem. Other companies wanted to add a ton of equipment and drill through external walls. Brian said he could run the circuits from the current breaker box and route them through internal walls and from the 1st floor to the basement. His recognition of solving the problem without adding additional expensive equipment and pounding through brick walls saved me a lot of money. And he completed the work efficiently, on-time, and cleaned up after the project was complete. He also gave me and installed a GFCI outlet in the bathroom at no additional cost.

We bought a ceiling fan to replace a dining room light. The ceilings are approximately 16-18 feet high, so it was too high for us to do it ourselves. We also wanted him to give us an estimate for some other work. Brian and his assistant arrived promptly, they were very courteous, professional and friendly. They installed the fan without any "fanfare" and quickly did the job. He was very patient with our many questions and gave us suggestions for other things we wanted done. Without charging extra (we gave him a little more for his time), Brian figured out what was tripping our breakers (sump pump needs to be replaced). They weren't in a rush and took their time to make sure the job was done correctly. We would definitely use Sundog Electrical again!!!!

Brian was very punctual and responsive to our questions and concerns. He provided a very fair and timely bid. Once we agreed to go with Sun Dog, he scheduled a time to start working, which was in a very reasonable time frame. The job took him several days to complete (big job) but each day he left the job site clean and safe. The quality of his work was exceptional and he was very willing to adjust the finer details of the installation as our needs changed. Once the job was done we arranged for an inspection, which only had a few VERY minor changes that needed to be made. These were quickly corrected and the inspection was passed without difficulty. He would not accept any payment until the job passed inspection.
