Unfortunately, Sears fixed the symptom, not the problem. It never really cooled well after then, then after two months, the fan went out again . . . and that's where our real difficulties with Sears began. I called, they said they could have the repairman right out in 17 days. Not satisfactory, I countered. Not willing to re-do the same scenario. Apparently if you are an and quot;oldand quot; customer, you go down on the list, if you're new, they are there in a heartbeat.I told them either to have someone out fast or to give me a refund. Lady said she was putting in for a refund, but that they would call me the next day. No call. I called in a week and the man I talked to said it looked like a check was on its way. No check ever came. So, that's Sears for you: no call, no service, no refund.I would rather have a drunk penguin fix an appliance before I would call Sears again.
Description of Work: Our Frigidaire refrigerator quit cooling - showed a code in front. We called Sears and they were there the next day. The code said it was a fan. Unfortunately, the fan took a week to get here, then another week passed before our appointment to install. It was difficult living without a refrigerator for two week, but we managed through it.

No call, no show. When we called to enquire about the whereabouts of the technician, the call center agent indicated he would have the technician call us. Again, no call, no show, so we cancelled the appointment. this is not the first time Sears Appliance Repair has performed I the "F" category with us. In June 2010, our dryer required repair. We made an appointment, they showed up late, and then began a comedy of errors regarding the parts required, the appointments made (and cancelled - by them), until finally we gave up and cancelled the repair and used a local appliance repair shop. After 2 utterly unsatisfactory experiences with this outfit, we've learned our lesson. No more repair engagements, and no more purchases from Sears.
Description of Work: Made an appointment on line for a technician to come out and replace the glass in the oven.

Design flaw in dishwasher combined with a seriously deranged scheduling system have resulted in a terrible experience. I have a service contract on my dishwasher for which I paid extra money when I bought it a few months ago. The latch has broken twice since then (even though I close it very gently) which causes the dishwasher to refuse to run. Although the service contract provides the repair without additional cost, I have had to wait a week and a half each time for the appointment. The appointment window is always 4 hours long, the first time the repair service called to ask if they could come even later than the window and I objected; after considerable negotiation, they finally came near the end of the window. I am now on my second repair *FOR THE SAME ISSUE* and the repairman is again going to come at the very end of the window and my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired. This is a huge waste of my time, I have now lost well over a work day with this issue. To say nothing of having to hand wash dishes for a combined three weeks or more when I have a brand new dishwasher. I will NEVER purchase a service contract from Sears again and I will also never purchase Kenmore appliances either.

Scheduled the appointment through Sears website, about a week in advance. Sears called the afternoon before the appointment to tell me they had to reschedule and I needed to call them (automated message.) I returned the call and requested (speaking to the agent) the next available date, which was ANOTHER WEEK OUT! I said there must be some mistake, this was their problem, not mine. Asked for an appointment the next day -- was told I would have to call back and see if any cancellations came up. They made no effort to correct their problem. Totally unresponsive, and this is one totally unhappy customer who will not be returning to Sears for service. (Previously had problems on a prior call, when the repairman told me that Sears had gone to a third party system and all the scheduling was messed up... well, a year later, it hasn't improved.)
