We had Denver Water out to evaluate a leak that was before our water meter. They determined it was between the main and the meter and that we needed to call a plumber to repair. I first called a plumber who we had worked with in the past, but they said they don't do work underground, only inside the house. They recommended Rocky Mountain Plumbing, that this type of work was almost all he does, and that he was excellent at it. That turned out to be very true. Dwain was incredibly responsive. He came out the same day to prepare an estimate for us. He was fairly certain that the leak was just outside the foundation, caused by settling shifting and bending the pipe, and could be repaired by excavating by hand right next to the foundation and repairing the damaged part of the water service line. We were considering other proposals as our leak was worsening. We decided to call Dwain, who was available to come out first thing on Saturday morning to do the work for us. He and one other guy arrived first thing on Saturday as promised, worked hard for several hours, and the leak was exactly as he predicted. He repaired it, they backfilled, restored our landscape as best he could, and they cleaned up our yard and the area in the basement where the water meter was. He was courteous and kept great communication through the whole process. He even took off his shoes each time he came back in the house so as to not track mud through each time he had to get to the basement. He was experienced, very professional, very courteous, and kept us informed the whole time. And at the end of the job, he charged us exactly what he quoted. I would not hesitate to call him again (though I hope we don't need any more water service or sewer line work any time soon!). Highly recommend.

I came home to a very minor flood in my basement, with the water coming in through window well. . I found a depression, filled with water around the copper pipe leading down from house into ground. This pipe is about 3 feet long, terminating, about a foot under fgoud, with a plastic 90 degree fitting connecting it to the plastic pipe which runs for about another foot to the valve box for my lawn irrigation (sprinkler) system. I first called another firm which is very highly rated on Angie's list. I have used them before and hoped to take advantage of their $200 coupon for $119 offer. They informed me that they do no work under ground and referred me to Rocky Mountain Plumbing. I was momentarily hesitatnt, as I could find no listing for this firm on Angie's list; but I quickly realized that as I was very happy with the first firm, it was likely that they would only refer me to another firm of similar quality. I was right. I called Thursday morning to make an appointment for an estimate, for which I was told that there would be no charge. Dwain arrived at 8 o'clock the next morning, precisely on time. He assessed the situation and quoted me a price of $150. As this was within the range that I had expected, I asked him to proceed. after a bit of digging, he found the broken coupling and told me that he would need to go to hardware store for a replacement. As he seems to specialize in work involving excavation, it was no surprise that he wouldn't carry such a small fitting in his truck. After a trip to hardware store he promptly finished work, told me to wait an hour for cement to cure before back filling the small hole around the pipe, and presented me with a bill for precisely the price he had estimated. That evening, after I got home from work, I turned on the water and noticed a very small leak at one of the joints that he had soldered. I called him about this and he said that he would address it the next day. Sure enough, he showed up the next morning. However, after working on it for a while, he told me that he had broken something and that as the specialized supplier from which he obtains irrigation parts was closed for the Labor Day holiday, he would need to wait until Tuesday to fix it. Tuesday evening, I again turned on the water and saw that there was a more substantial leak in the valve box. So, I again called him and he said that he would be back the next day. Wednesday morning, he called to let me know that he was finished and that I should close a new valve that he instaled ever autumn and re-open it in the spring. I am impressed with his promptness and professionalism. If ever I needed work involving significant excavation, like replacement of a sewer or main, I wouldn't hesitate to call him. However, it seems clear that sprinkler systems are not his forte'.
