+ -1 moreThe tune-up itself was fantastic. I was interested in the details, so the tech went over everything with me, step by step, to show me what he was doing, what he was looking for, and why. I was very impressed with his ability and thoroughness. However, when the appointment is set, the company provides a 2-hour window when the technician will arrive. My window was 4-6 pm, and at 6 pm when nobody had showed up or even called me, I called the office (the only phone number available), which was closed, and left voicemail. Eventually the tech called me and showed up at 6:30, but this is a long time to wait alone in an entirely empty rental unit. I was not at all happy with that aspect, but the actual tune-up was well done and worth the money, particularly with the Angie's List deal savings. Now that it's a week later, another matter for their customer service department is that nobody from the company ever called me back, having received my voicemail from that evening that the tech was late. Apparently punctuality isn't a company standard, either.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List deal, $54 for 28-Point Furnace Tune-Up. Their service technician came to the condo and performed the tune-up as stated.

+ 0 moreLast winter I was having issues with my boiler. I called Quality West and Rob came to meet me at my house. He advised me of all my options including repair. I was so comfortable with Rob and Quality West that I made the immediate decision to upgrade my boiler to a new crown high efficiency boiler. On the day of the install Rob was here with another employee. The two of them were a great team!! The two were not only knowledgeable but incredibly respectful to me and my property. In July of 2011 I made another phone call to Quality West to see what my options would be for cooling my house. Due to my house lacking a duct system, I was very nervous that I would never be able to have a cooling system installed. This is when I learned of the wonders of a Fujitsu mini split wall mounted a/c system. It looks clean and is exceptionally quiet! It is also the most efficient way to cool my home. Now I am not only comfortable in my home but also with my affordable bills each month! THANK YOU ROB AND EVERYBODY AT QUALITY WEST

+ -1 moreExcellent. Again, compared to the experience I had with Builders and Southwest, this team stood head and shoulders above the rest. Rob has already scheduled a follow up in two weeks to review the system performance, double check settings, etc... and make sure the system is performing well.
Description of Work: After dealing with a couple of other Angie's List Providers that (unfortunately) didn't pan out, I can not say enough about Quality West Heating and Cooling. Our AC died (8/3/2011) an unnatural and early death because of a series of "well intended" but incompetent "fixes" for a challenging (but do able) heating/cooling problem. And of course, it died during the hottest period of the year when we needed it most. For the money; Rob returned the call faster than SouthWest Heating and Cooling and was professional, engaged, courteous and responsive where as SouthWest was lackadaisical, apathetic, distant and relatively unresponsive. When he showed up, he performed diagnostics (and didn't mind me hanging over his shoulder while he did it; asking him what he was doing and why...) identified the problem, listened to my concerns, recommended a good system at a decent price (with install) and got the job done quickly. They installed a Rheem 14AJM42A01 and a RGPE-12EARMR; his crew was professional (removed shoes in the house and put down drop cloths to make sure the floors weren't damaged), got to work before they grabbed lunch and did everything I asked and; Fixed a dual zone heating/cooling system that Builders Heating and Air-conditioning installed but couldn't make work properly. Put a "hard start" unit on the new outdoor A/C unit. Sealed all the duct work with mastic and left the mastic (and a brush) for me to go after any other air leaks that may crop up... (I'm a little "detail oriented"). Made sure the new outdoor AC unit was stable and perfectly level. Worked around roses and that were planted fairly close to the outdoor unit without damaging... Cleaned up all tools, scraps, mastic drips etc... and left the work site spotless. Removed and recycled the old, environmentally unfriendly coolant. Took the old unit away for scrap and recycle. Tested the system to ensure that it functioned properly. Allowed me to walk around the system, pinpoint any air leaks and then sealed them (nice to be allowed to inspect the work without attitude...) with mastic (not tape...) for a solid seal. Filled out all the proper paperwork for the Excel\Tax rebates. Provided a 100% money back guarantee. Processed credit card payment on a simple android app (nice touch which I appreciated since I work in IT). Did it all with a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Other providers (I have the feeling) would have used our circumstances in an attempt to hold us hostage and charge a ridiculous premium for the time and materials, but I think the price was fair and the service was impeccable. After Excel\Tax rebates the cost will be ~4500.00 and after poking around, I don't think anyone could do much better than that, particularly on an emergency basis. I got the feeling that Rob and his team understood the technology, conveyed the details to me in technical terms that I could understand and did the work in time to get us back up and running in less than 24 hours; start to finish.
