Rob is a cool cat! He came out promptly (he gives priority to Angie's List customers, so make sure you mention AL when you make the appt) and took his time understanding our system components inside and outside the house. He diagnosed our problem as having too much freon?WAY too much freon?in our unit, which was added just the day before by another A/C Company (who is getting a negative review on this site). Rob drained some of the freon, and using a digital device, established normal functions. Our compressor is old and testy and the numbers were bouncing around a bit, so Rob said to call him back if that didn't do the trick and he'll come out again. He said that this is his company, and that taking care of his customers is his priority. Well, after a few hours, the house wasn't cooling and the line froze again. I called Rob at about 6:00pm hoping for a morning appt the next day. His wife, who schedules appts., called us 30 minutes later and said that Rob was booked the next day, but he would be happy to come out that night after he finished dinner! I was blown away! Sure enough, Rob came out and he evaluated our system again, and diagnosed that there was still too much freon in the system. He drained MORE freon, and it's been working terrifically ever since! We're finally cool! Rob not only fixed our problem stemming from poor service from another cruddy company, but my husband really enjoyed shooting the breeze with him while they tinkered with the A/C! He is a good guy, who really does care about his customers. He didn't even charge us for the second visit!

I am perhaps the most picky person in the world (ask anyone who knows me!) and I have nothing but good to say about Quality West Heating & Cooling. Rob (owner) came over to provide my estimate. He called when enroute and was right on time. The estimate he provided was very reasonable and was provided on the spot, unlike other providers who took several days to get me an estimate. The BEST part about this process and the thing that won Rob my business was he really listened to me when I was explaining my issue. He didn't try to sell me a product/service that was all encompassing or what he wanted to sell, he heard me and what my true concern was and provided a service that fixed my issue directly. When Rob, Garrin and Wayne arrived to perform the work they again called to let me know they were enroute and were again right on time. They took great care with my home during the install; laying down drop cloths to avoid tracking in dirt, moving furniture inside and out and always washing their hands between doing outside work and touching anything in my home. They made sure I understood how to use the new unit and even configured it specially to allow both me and my husband (who have very different ideas on what temperature a room should be) to be comfortable. Most importantly the unit they installed is fabulous! Last night I got my first comfy-cool, good night's sleep since April. The unit is super quiet and works great - absolutely solved my issue. I would use Quality West Heating & Cooling again without hesitation!

Our home is eighteen years old and we decided to install a new air conditioning system and furnace to improve the performance of our AC and heating. Quality West provided the most affordable estimate as well as what we considered the most appropriate recommendations for upgrading our system. They were prompt, polite and did an efficient job of installing the new equipment, without creating a mess. The new system is a major improvement over our prior air conditioning and thus far we are extremely happy with the outcome.

Rob and his team just left my house, and I am extremely please with the work that they performed. I brought in Quality West (based on their many positive rating here on Angie's List) when another local HVAC contractor failed to resolve my cooling issues after several visits over the course of two summers. Rob diagnosed the problem as poor airflow right away, which I had suspected from the beginning. The furnace was only pushing about 400 cfms (It was an Haier brand furnace, about 10 years old.) Rob told me that the only way to resolve the problem would be to replace the furnace, and since my wife gets grumpy when she is hot, I figured it was worth the investment to finally be able to cool the house properly without the coil freezing up. When Rob called me this morning to tell me that his supplier was out of the furnace we had agreed upon, I was a bit nervous about how this situation would turn out, but Rob went to bat for me with his supplier and knocked it out of the park. Not only did Rob get me a more expensive furnace to replace the one on back-order, but because the new furnace was larger, he also installed a new/larger A/C coil - All at no extra cost to me! Needless to say, I was extremely impressed with Rob's dedication to customer service. Rob & Team were very courteous and answered all my questions (there were a lot). They were quick but thorough, and did a great job. Time will tell how the Reem will performed and if my A/C problems are 100% resolved, but I am confident that this was the correct solution and Rob told me he would make it right, and I believe he will.

We are very pleased with Rob's work from start to finish. Installing a/c in our house was complicated because we have hot water heat in baseboards. Rob and his crew installed the a/c in our attic and created a duct system to each room. The unit is energy efficient and very quiet. His price was considerably lower than our other estimate, and included better equipment and an air cleaner. Rob is very customer oriented and professional. He clearly loves what he does and works very hard. We will now use him for all of our heating and a/c needs.

It was good I like it. They just came to the house and did their work and it seems like their straightforward and then they left. There are no hiccups or anything. I think they have fair price and fair service. Their price was consistent with similar with what you have for your special. It wasn’t any higher or it’s any lower.

I needed technical help understanding nature of A/C condenser/coil cleaning required as a result of home inspection feedback. Quality West was extremely helpful, patient and responsive during the estimating AND educating process! They scheduled my service on short notice, and all staff were courteous, prompt, professional and thorough. I will use their help again.

In my opinion, Quality West Heating is unsupassed for their knowledge of furnaces, replacement, price, customer service and professionalism. I was over the top impressed with Doug and his partner who came out to our townhouse (they were even able to arrive earlier than expected, which was great because we were without heat). The furnace problem was explained in terms I could understand, all the options were explained to me regarding getting a new furnace and different pricing options, and they told me they could get us on their schedule right away. They went above and beyond what I expected though, since we were without heat, Doug lit our fireplace for me before they left (which I was unable to start) and told me he would be able to provide heaters for us until the work could be done (which was early the next morning). As promised, Doug came back with the heaters and plugged them in and showed me how to use them -- these were very good quality heaters too and able to heat our 2200+ townhouse main floor and upstairs comfortably. If we didn't get the heaters we most likely would have had to stay in a hotel due to how cold it was getting in our residence. Today Doug and his partner showed up as promised (in great moods), laided out tarp for our stairs and carpeted areas so they wouldn't get dirty and got right to work and got our new furnace put in, in less time than anticipated. Doug explained to me how our new furnace operated, showed me where the filters go for replacing, assisted me in getting the Honeywell app on my iphone and on my computer so we can have remote temperature control when we are not at home. He was very patient with me while I asked him a ton of questions about using our new thermostat and the online Honeywell features - he actually made it fun learning how to use the online remote features. Now, if he can explain to me how to use this, he can explain it to anyone out there - lol. I had 3 other heating contractors give us bids prior to me calling Quality West; and all of them were trying to sell me something "more" than I needed and talking above my knowledge about furnaces and what we needed - gotta say it was rather stressful for me. One contractor in particular was giving me inaccurate information which I asked Doug about and Doug knew exactly what the federal rules for new furances was or wasn't and he saved me a lot of money. I hope this review helps other folks that are in need of furnance replacement or repair.... I give Quality West 5 out of 5 stars. Also, the customer service I received when I initially called for service was professional, friendly and she understood I needed heating service that day. The gal was able to squeeze us into the guys schedule and said if a eariler time opened up they would let me know. To my amazement they called and were able to come out hours before their scheduled time! PS, Not only am I, and my family appreciative of Doug and Quality West but my 3 pooches are very happy to be warm and cozy again too.

Quality West was prompt and professional. The tech came in and cleaned and serviced our furnace. He also recommended I purchase a service agreement with them which gives me discounts on future service calls. I am glad I did because we have had them out again to fix a problem and once again I received great service at a discount. I will continue to work with Quality West.

I got a Big Deal on Angie's List for furnace inspection and tune up for $54. The service was scheduled quickly and the serviceman was there promptly on time. He performed the service and changed humidifier and air filters. No problems or additional charges were incurred. Overall very satisfied.

I searched Angie's List to find a company that could install a tankless water heater. After calling 3 different companies and obtaining 3 different quotes, ranging from $2000 to $6,000, I decided to go with Quality West Heating and Cooling. Although they quoted $2900 over the phone based on the description of my home, I fully expected the number to increase after they were actually on site to provide a final estimate. To my dismay, the final estimate came in at the original quote. They estimated it could take 4-8 hours to install, final installation was around 5 hours. The price included the water heater, installation and removal of my old water heater. The technician was very professional, punctual and extremely informative. I could not have asked for better service for a better price, two thumbs up.

They did a good job and their price was reasonable. They were nice people.

I signed up through Angie's List for the furnace tune-up on Dec. 17, 2012. Within a couple of days after signing up, I received a telephone call from Quality West Heating & Cooling to setup an appointment. The technician arrived on time the day of the appointment. He was very personable. While performing the tune-up, the technician explained to me how a high efficiency furnace operates. Very interesting and informative.

Once I made the decision to buy a new furnace, they went right to work. Within a couple of hours, two contractors and my new furnace arrived. They worked all day (my old furnace was concreted into the floor) to get the old one out, and the new one installed. By the time they were finished, it was about 7 PM. They cleaned up and promised to get the old furnace the next day, and they did. They were very respectful (took off their boots as we had just had that big snowstorm) and explained everything. They also didn't try and sell me some kind of service contract which I really appreciated.

Excellent! I had actually reached out and gotten quotes last fall but didn't have the money at that point. Was planning on getting this in the spring, but my furnace died in the meantime. Quality West was able to help me right away and got my heat installed very fast! Rob explained exactly what he did and showed me how to work everything. Great service!

Found bad gas valve on inspection, replaced it. Tech was agitated, had to give him batteries for his flashlight. Filter he put in looked like it had been stepped on and torn. He said he thought replacing the valve would fix the continually running problem. It did not. Called and they sent 2 techs back out. They spent 45 min-1hour in the basement checking things. Finally said the furnace probablyl always runs all the time and I just wake up more at night so I notice it. I said my Xcel bill doubled and it wasn't that much colder. One of the techs said it was much warmer the previous month (I checked, 10 degree difference in the two months). They left. I called another company. He checked the thermostat, in less than a minute said it was bad because of how it clicked off and on at sporadic times. Spent maybe 15 minutes in the basement with a meter. Said the igniter was pulling too many ohms and it eventually would burn out. I had him replace it and he showed me the bad one. I asked why they didn't find that after their long time in the basement and he said he had no idea what they could have been checking for that long. He also replaced the thermostat and my furnace is now running like it did previously......not on and off continually.

The service was fine; he was a very nice tech. They were very prompt we found out we needed a new furnace. Which we also used them for and the price was very competitive.

Angela explained they have received this type of problem and could be fixed by changing the fitler. Of course i had pulled the filter out, only partially. Once i got home i pulled it out all the way and much to my surprise, the small portion i pulled out the day before was spottless but the rest was filthy. Now the furnace works great and only cost me a new filter. Thank you!

I did a lot of research on humidifiers on the internet and had considered buying one and installing it myself or having a HVAC company install it. I found out that most companies will not install something they did not sell to the customer. I understand and respect their business decision not to do this. That is when I decided to call Quality West Heating & Cooling after finding good reviews on Angie's List. I talked to Rob (owner) about which brand and type of whole house humidifier to install on my my existing furnace. After deciding to go along with Rob's recommendations, Rob came out two days later and installed the Aprilaire Whole House 700 Humidifier. The humidifier was on sale and was $150 less than a comparable brand sold and installed by Cooper Heating & Cooling. Rob and his employee installed the humidifier in two hours which would have taken me at least one day to do. The humidifier has worked correctly since it was installed. Rob then explained how to use the humidifier and what settings to use for best results. Quality West left my basement as clean as it was before they arrived. Rob also leveled my furnace as per installation instructions, which had not been done correctly by the original installers in 2010 for our builder. Rob did this service for FREE.

Great. I told him things others had told me I needed to have worked on. He made sure to look at these items and determined that the items did not need attention. For example, I had been told my A/C needed coolant, but it did not. He also made suggestions for air handling in certain rooms. I ended up signing a service agreement with them, which included periodic inspections. They have been prompt to come for the inspections, were very thorough even though they had been paid.

Our furnace was not working, then it was. We called them and received answering machine. They call back in 5 minutes and they were able to come out in about 1.5 hours which was great. They ran a few tests and found an intermittent problem on the gas valve electronic switch. The technician wanted to make sure of the problem, so he kept testing and it did fail the same way again. They quoted a price, and they had the part needed on their truck. They completed the work quickly and explained what he was doing all the way through. Very pleased with the work. Not sure if the price was a good one or not, so hard to rate that.
