From beginning to end, the Patriot painting company did a great job. Miguel showed up at my house and wasn't pushing unwanted services on me. He did not push unnecessary repair costs on me! The subcontractor painters that Miguel used were EXCELLENT! George and his team paid attention to detail and any slight imperfections that I noticed, were immediately addressed. We chose the paint we wanted, the colors we wanted. The awesome subcontractor George helped me to see what would look good and he was right! I love it! fyi: Per another design/ painting consultation, we used Benjamine Moore paint and LOVED it! It covered well.

Initial customer service and the color consultation was great. The reviews we read were all very positive as well. We upgraded to the Benjamin Moore paint and were excited to have it done. That was the end of the positive experience. The crew: They were consistently late. The job took weeks longer than they estimated. They asked me to sign a "completion contract" before the job was done--telling me they wouldn't be paid without it. The staining job: They did a horrible job staining the door--they had to redo it and still they rushed putting on the varnish, so the stain streaked. Still looks horrible, but I didn't want them to touch it again! The paint job: It has been just one year and the trim has completely peeled on all of the windows. They came back to remedy the job and at that time (and not at the time of the initial job), I found out that an oil based paint should have been used in my area on the trim and windows. Patriot took no responsibility for not telling us this, simply repainted the areas that had peeled. I had upgraded to the better paint that their color consultant has selected, but still it was my fault that the paint did not last one year. I was also told by the new crew that was fixing the trim that the main body of the house was not prepped properly--that there are numerous holes and cracks that should have been filled. They had also painted all of the weather stripping so the windows were all painted shut. I fully expect to have to repaint our home next year. The touch up on the windows and trim will not last another season and I am concerned about the main part of the home as well. I know this company has some good crews, I just got stuck with a really bad one. Next time I'll be hiring a smaller company that stands behind their work.

The painting process took about a week due to the size of my house, and the painters were extremely professional. Upon arrival the first day, the painting team introduced themselves to me and asked several questions to ensure they were putting the right paint in the right places. They even called me from the paint store with questions to ensure they were doing the job right. The team appeared to do a thorough job preparing the house (caulking, sanding, etc.) prior to painting. The painting crew cleaned up each day before they left (ensuring no ladders were left against the house for kids to climb on and all trash picked up and removed). They were punctual and came and went when they said they would. When the job was complete, the paint crew spent over an hour doing a walk-through of the house with me, adding another coat of paint in places where I felt it was needed and fixing minor details or missed areas. There were no complaints from the crew about fixing anything or touching things up. When the job was complete, they left the remaining paint with me for my own touch-ups or future painting needs. Overall, I was very impressed with the actual painting team themselves. The guy who did the estimate was friendly and helpful, and all others I dealt with at Patriot were also extremely professional. The price was great given the quality of the work. The payment process was extremely easy - my invoice was e-mailed to me, and I was able to pay online - that was very convenient! I would hire these guys again to paint my house!

WOW!! This company is beyond A+. Their workmanship was incredible. The communications were clear between the company staff and me. All paint service options were described in full detail and every answer I had was answered clearly and fully. The cost was the lowest (had about 4 other quotes) and the quality was excellent. The personnel were professional and courteous. I highly recommend Patriot Painting to anyone. I give them a 10 out of 10!!!!
Description of Work: I had the exterior of my home painted. First came the power wash. Then the preparation work. Then the painting. I was at work for most of the time the painters did their thing. Great price but you had to be on top of them all the time pointing things out some things were very sloppy. It was contracted out and they did not have anyone from the company there to make sure it was getting done right I had to take time off work to ensure they did most of what I wanted done. I had to keep telling them what they needed to do what was agreed upon. Make sure you have every little detail in writing step by step what they need to do. I had to constantly show them missing things needing to be done. They finished at night and it looked like everything was done until the next day you could see many areas were missed and not done all they way. I will have to touch up everything myself.

Example we had a mishap during the painting while I was at work the first day which prompted me to take off work early and stay home for the rest of the work. They put plastic over my air conditioner which burned up a componet which had to be replaced. The company made good on the repairs. So if you use this company you have to watch them every minute. The house does look good though.

Given this price the quality was acceptable and the job overall was good but not excellent. Given the other quotes I received this price was very reasonable. They completed the job in three days as promised. We found a few places off mess (i.e., paint on white door) and a not perfectly straight line on the wall/ceiling juncture. I would recommend them to someone that wants to say $1,500 for a good paint job in a timely manner.

Patriot Painting was very professional from the beginning estimate phase through completion of the project and warrantee offered. This company is a customer friendly, customer first firm that I wouldn't hesitate to to recommend to others for exterior painting. My project didn't include interior painting although, I would certainly give them business for interior work in the future. I found the company to be timely, wanting and able to complete the work to my complete satisfaction whenever requested during the project. I found the work to be a quality effort and when areas were found needing touch up or more attention; there was no hesitation in putting more paint on areas needing the attention.

They were good from the start. They didn't do as much prep work as I thought they would, but the ending result was excellent. They were good about coming back and were willing to fix a few tweaks. They also painted an additonal door at no price that needed paint repair which I was very happy with.

Very well - price was much lower than what I had been told to expect from others. Crew was very unobtrusive - they just showed up and did the work. Clean up was particularly impressive - you would never know a pain crew had been here. Lastly, the paint job itself looks really fantastic. The crew must have really know what they were doing - no sign of overspray whatsoever, transition between trim & siding color is razor straight, etc, etc.

I called & requested a quote (I find I get a more timely response if I call directly rather than use Request a Quote). They came out right away and gave me several options based on the number of colors I wanted to use, the type of paint I wanted to use, and additional services I requested (I wanted a portion of the back of the house back-rolled because it gets a lot of sun). I scheduled an appointment (three weeks out due to the volume of jobs they already had scheduled). They offer a free color consultation which I used and decided on one of the color combinations she suggested. I painted samples on several locations of the house in order to decide and I wasn't too sure I liked the best option but I believe that was because it was very different from what I've had for the last 16 years. They arrived on schedule, power washed the house, purchased the paint, and started work right away. When they had questions about what I wanted in a specific area they asked (which was great compared to other service people who have just decided for themselves what they think looks best). Unfortunately it started to rain so they stored everything in a very tidy fashion in my backyard, came back the next morning and were done in about an hour. They cleaned up really well, left me the remaining paint for future touch-ups (they said to call if I noticed any areas needing touch-ups in the next few days but I didn't find anything that required them coming back). I had several people from the neighborhood stop to get information from them because they liked what they saw (several neighbors stopped by when everything was finished to asked my impression of the work that was done and I gave a rave review to everyone who asked). I'm getting used to the color change and I really love it. I'm glad I took the color consultant's advice. I will definitely use them in the future when I start painting the inside of my house!
Description of Work: I requested that the exterior of the house be painted using three new colors (very different colors from what I already had on the house). I requested that a specific portion of the rear of the house receive multiple coats and they recommended that back-rolling between coats would give me a better result than applying more coats of paint. I wanted the house power washed really well before they started because there were a lot of bird droppings from the birds eating cherries off my tree. They gave me several options for paint and the corresponding prices but I requested they use Behr Plus and paid the difference in price which was minimal. They offer a free color consult which I used and chose colors I hadn't been considering but in the end I was glad I took her advice.

The crew did excellent work on each step of the job. Some of the south and west surfaces of the house were very worn with flaking paint and exposed wood. Caulking was applied in many areas and primer was done where needed. Two thick coats of paint were applied to all surfaces. We picked dark red paint with white trim. The workers were very careful to protect all surrounding surfaces, including sidewalks, driveway, porches, cemend patio, white gravel around base of house, windows, screens, etc. The white wood trim around all windows and doors looks great next to the dark red paint, with clean precise edges. The crew was very professional, hard working, and polite. We would definitely recommend Patriot Painting Professionals to our family and friends.
Description of Work: Prepare surfaces to be painted: pressure wash complete exterior, scrape and sand loose or flaking paint, recaulk all seams, gaps, and corners with quality forty year caulking, spot prime as necessary, re-set loose nails and/or soffit, trim, or fascia. Protect all unpainted surfaces (stone, cement, shrubbery, furniture, etc). Paint the body, trim, soffit, fascia, and all painted doors, gutters and down spouts on the house, large out building (400 sq ft), and detached garage with two coats in up to three colors. Excludes vinyl windows and screen doors. Bid did not include paint, per our request.

Patriot was wonderful to deal with from start to finish. They were responsive to our questions and concerns up front, and even found us a discount on our paint upgrade from Sherwin Williams. Our paint crew showed up when scheduled, did great prep work, and applied the paint efficiently and expertly. Our crew chief Gilberto even pointed out and fixed an error where a previous company had sloppily applied paint to the bottom edge of our roof shingles. At the conclusion of the job (about four days) we did a walk around together and the crew quickly fixed a couple of spots we wanted changed. I have had no hesitation about referring neighbors and family to Patriot.
Description of Work: We used an Angie's list coupon and had the exterior of our house painted. We also utilized the services of Patriot's wonderful color consultant, Carissa. They painted our two story home in SE Denver and we upgraded to a very quality Sherwin Williams paint product after consulting with Miguel, Patriot's very knowledgable project coordinator.

Got their name off Angie's along with some others. Their estimator came out and we discussed the work to be done, specific issues I wanted addressed, and he gave me a price based on that scope. The items I have an issue with that we discussed are: 1. I wanted all nail pops reset. The estimator said they would do that. IN FACT the painters on the ground did not do that, just hit the nails with a hammer and caulked around the nail heads and now you have a bump that is visible eveywhere there is a nail. 2. I wanted rotten wood replaced. They gave me an estimate to replace the wood on a per foot basis. I said fine. IN FACT when the painters showed up, they would not replace the wood (maybe too strong of a statement but they did not replace the wood I asked be replaced and was willing to pay extra for) they just caulked the rotted ends, 3. The estimator said he was pricing 2 coats with the painters spraying a coat, back rolling and spraying a second coat. They DID NOT back roll and the painters concept of a second coat was to "sometims" spray the opposite direction. They did do 2 coats on the trim in most places. 4. The estimator said they would do certain things and factored that into their price. They didn't , see above. Makes me wonder the ethics of Patriot. I was home taking vacation the entire week they worked and witnessed approximatley 40 to 50 % of every hour they worked. So my concerns are based on my visual observations and from my 40 years in the construction business.
Description of Work: Patriot painted the outside of our house. The painting itself was done well, though not as the estimator said it would be done. The on ground supervisor told me - "that is not how we do it" I also had nail pops that needed to be reset, again the estimator said they do that, but they did not. I asked for a quote to replace some wood, they provided a price/foot to replace the wood. When the on ground supervisor showed up to see what the project entailed, I showed him specifically 5 pieces of wood that had rotten ends and needed replacement. He said he had another way - which was to just caulk the rotted ends. Looks like crap. I e-mailed his supervisor while they were prepping about the 2 issues. He e-mailed me back 2 days later after they had painted.

This review is only based on my experience obtaining an estimate from Patriot Painting Professionals ("Patriot"). In the event the company responds to this review, I am providing all of the objective details below. The short version is that this company claims on its website to be certified by the EPA to work with lead paint, but based on direct contact to the EPA, it appears that they are not. Moreover, the company was late and delayed in providing me a quote and any responses relating to that quote, such that I never received a final quote. If you want to read the details about this, they are below. I first contacted Patriot to get a quote to paint the exterior of our house based on all of the positive reviews on Angie's List, and set up an estimate for June 19, a Tuesday. They came out for the estimate, and I was very impressed. The estimator seemed very knowledgable and spent a lot of time discussing the various aspects of the prep work and the painting. As our house was built in the early 1900s, the importance of complying with the EPAs recent lead remediation rules was discussed. See http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/toolkits.htm. Basically, the EPA requires certain lead containment measures to be used on any project for houses built before 1978. The estimator said he would have the bid to me on Thursday. Thursday came and went. I finally got the bid on June 25, the following Monday, and it did not include anything about lead compliance. So I responded and requested information in the bid about lead compliance. The estimator responded at 1:17 am on June 27 and stated "I will go ahed and add the lead base compiance in the bid, regarding the expecifications for the prep work. I uiwll work on that and send ot by wednesday the 27th." So I waited for a response. I never got a response. On July 2, I emailed the estimator and told him we would be going with another company. On July 3, the estimator wrote me back and said he had responded to me, and that I must have lost the response in my junk mail, and he pasted his previous 1:17 am response into the email, but it was the original 1:17 am response in which he stated he would get the lead compliance information to me by June 27. In other words, it appears as though he had forgotten (and/or neglected to read his original email) that he had told me he would get me more information by June 27. While this was all taking place, I was doing more research on the EPA's lead compliance rules. The EPA's website has a database where you can look up the companies that are EPA certified (http://cfpub.epa.gov/flpp/searchrrp_firm.htm) and a toll-free number that you can call to speak to someone about it (1-800-424-LEAD (5323)). Patriot states the following on their website: "If you have lead-based paint on or in your home, not hiring a lead certified painter can cost thousands. Patriot Painting is licensed to work with lead-based coatings and is certified through the Environmental Protection Agency. Our Lead Renovator Certificate number is TR073RRPI-219." (http://www.patriotpaintinginc.com/Credentials.html, last accessed July 4, 2012). I looked up Patriot on the EPA database by full name, short name, and location, and was unable to locate them. In light of the representation on their website, this concerned me, so I called the toll-free number. They could not locate Patriot either, and indicated that they were unfamiliar with the "TR" preface certificate number that Patriot has on their website. I have also spoken with a representative from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, who told me that EPA certification is required to do lead renovation work (such as painting), and that he was unfamiliar with the "TR" certification as well. I encourage anyone looking to do any work, especially if it involves a house built before 1978, to do their research.
Description of Work: I received a preliminary estimate from Patriot Painting Professionals, but was never able to get a final estimate for the work.

They did a great job painting the exterior of my house. They started right when they said they would and didn't charge for anything above the initial estimate. The only thing I found a little annoying is the painters didn't have cars so they had to hang out around the house for a couple of hours after the job was done waiting for the supervisor to pick them up. Aside from this, I really enjoyed working with Patriot.

I contacted Patriot and an estimate was promptly scheduled in April. Abraham was on time and professional. I had other estimates and liked Patriot's references on Angie's LIst so I accepted the proposal at the time of the estimate. I was contacted shortly afterward by MIguel and an appointment was made for 9:00am Saturday in June. It was my understanding that it was about a half day job to pressure wash, prep the deck and rails and apply Kwal solid stain in the same tone. The morning of the scheduled work I called Miguel several time because his crew had not shown up. A 2 man crew did finally arrive at about 1:30 pm. They seemed unsure about what they were supposed to do and asked me to explain what was needed. I asked to see his work order but it was in Spanish and I couldn't read it. He then told me that I didn't need pressure washing and asked me if I had purchased the stain. I couldn't reach Miguel by phone so I retrieved my contract and made the worker a copy. Then both workers left in search of a Kwal store. This took about a half hour. A few minutes later the Kwal store called and said the stain needed couldn't be ready until Monday. The work crew had left some masking tape and a few small tools. I put them in a box on the front porch and when they returned from the Kwal store I told them I did not want them to stay and work. By now it was 3:00pm. I called Miguel and told him I had sent the crew away and that given my experience today, I was no longer comfortable working with his company. I am not out any money but bitterly disappointed. This appointment was scheduled well in advance. I declined a really fun weekend trip because I had this work scheduled. I also moved quite a bit of patio furniture, a rug, wind chimes, flowerpots and a gas grill from the deck for the work and waited hours. All for nothing. Abraham and Miguel conducted themselves very professionally. The work crew was unsupervised, unprepared and very unprofessional.
Description of Work: I was expecting a pressure washed deck and railings, prepped, scraped and sanded deck and railings, and a new coat of gray Kwal sold stain. No work was performed.

Response from Patriot Painting Professionals Inc
There are a handful of inconsistencies in the member's report to which we feel compelled to respond. First, it should be noted that NO WORK was performed. This member cancelled the agreement (even though we had a legal and binding contract - we agreed to her request) mainly because the workers were late arriving. I spoke to her six times that morning (even though she claims she couldn't get a hold of me). I explained that the workers were delayed in leaving their last project because of touch-ups and they would arrive at her house by a specific time. And although we offered to remedy the lateness in whatever way she wished she was already very upset by that time and refused any offers. We try very hard to avoid tardiness but sometimes things occur that are beyond our control. We communicated with this homeowner thoroughly and apologized for tardiness are disappointed that she didn't give us an opportunity to show why we have earned the best reputation in the industry.

Abe from Patriot arrived to do an estimate for staining my cedar fence and redwood deck and for painting my house. He promised me the bid within a few days. After not having received a bid after a couple weeks, I called for an update. Miguel apologized profusely and promised me that Abe would get me a bid by that evening. He also told me to call him back after I got the estimate so that he could give me an additional discount. I still never got the bid from Patriot. There is nothing worse than wasting more than an hour on a weekday meeting a contractor who never even bothers to give you his bid. Contractors who don't bother even giving you a bid should tell you they don't need or want the work before scheduling a meeting.

Response from Patriot Painting Professionals Inc
Reader please note that no work was performed here. We hope that readers will place more emphasis in their judgment of Patriot Painting based on actual work. At the beginning of the season we conducted an Angie's List Big Deal wherein we received an overwhelming number of responses. This oversight occurred in the middle of that period. We have apologized to this customer and are improving our systems to prevent this type of error.

It turned out very well. We found them to be the most reasonably priced of the three that came and gave us an estimate. There were some challenges with the weather but they were able to work around that. We were pleased with the timing and they did a good job.
Description of Work: They painted the exterior of our home.

Wonderful experience! We purchased a Deal on Angies List to perform the work at an amazing price. Patriot was quick to come out and provide a free estimate to ensure that there would be no extra charges for the deal. Once purchased, they were quick to schedule and easy to get a hold of by phone and very responsive by email. Painting started and was completed as scheduled and really was beyond the quality we expected. They power washed the entire 2-story house with attached garage, primed and sanded all areas that needed it, painted the body a new color, painted doors (including french doors) a new color and painted the trim. The entire project was done in less than 3.5 days. The crew (and Santiago, in particular) was great to work with- they arrived early each day and were wonderful in letting us know the plans and schedule. I had to get to work early the first day they started and Santiago was nice enough to show up early to go over the work with me. I have to admit that I was a little worried that the deal I was purchasing was too good to be true but am pleased to report that it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I would recommend Patriot to everyone in need of quality painting at a wonderful price (notably, they were the most reasonable bid even without the Angies List deal).

I called for an estimate for painting the exterior of my house. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and quickly set up an appointment for a free consultation. I received an email confirmation that day, and another confirmation the day before the appointment. However, no one showed up for the appointment and no one called to say they would be late or had to reschedule. After waiting half an hour, I called and cancelled the appointment since I had to go to work.
