I wanted to get the house painted before winter set in and they were accommodating! We lucked out with the weather! House needed some boards replaced, and they were one of the few companies that said up front that they couldn't get the same boards that were on the house. Out of about 8 estimates I got, only a few companies admitted this. Others said it could be done, but after several weeks of finally getting their carpenters out to look at it, those companies didn't respond back or gave other excuses. I appreciated Patriot's honesty. Crew was polite and professional. Checked with us every day on how they were doing. Upon final walk through, some touch up areas needed attention, they fixed immediately. Would have liked more attention to prep work, but house is 40 years old and has been painted numerous times, so not sure if some things are actually fixable. Some paint drips on things they said they would cover, but didn't. Nothing too bad though. Overall, good job and house looks great! Have received many compliments!

This was a generally terrific experience. We met with the estimator who provided us a quote within 24 hours, then met with a color consultant who gave us not only great ideas about colors, but also about where the different colors should go. She encouraged us to use the accent color in a more modern way than many of the homes in our neighborhood. Then we worked with a project manager to schedule the project and order paint. Of our entire experience this was the least satisfying, as the manager seemed to forget things he had told us (e.g., we had to send paint colors more than once, and the scheduled dates were initially incorrect). However, all went incredibly smoothly with the painting crew. We met with the crew leader several times and he would call any time he had a question about which paint should go where. During the walk-through the crew made sure everything was perfect before they left. We have already had a number of compliments on how great the house looks. We are about to book an interior paint job with Patriot based on this experience.

Overall, an excellent job. Patriot provided a color consultant at no extra charge. Original bid was $3300, I elected to upgrade the paint and pay for backrolling, which increased the cost. All additonal fees were clearly laid out up front. I had to re-schedule a couple of times, they were very accommodating. Miguel was the project coordinator, he was extremely professional in all of our communication. Manuel and Oscar were the painters, I highly recommend their work, very detailed and conscientious. Mess was minimal, clean up after the project was great. Manuel also handled the wood replacement, no issues. The only issue pertained to the start of the project, it was delayed due to some mechanical issues with the painters van. This was communicated to me the night before the project was to start by Manuel himself. I did not hear from the person who was supposed to be the project's onsite coordinator prior to the start of the job, or about any issues until I initiated contact after speaking with Manuel and Miguel, then did not hear from him again. The project also took a little longer than estmimated due to the fact that there were only two painters versus three that would have normally been assigned to a house the size of mine. As I said at the beginning, other than the two relatively minor glitches I mentioned, an excellent job.

Not too well. They promised to start on Monday 10/8 and didn't start until 10/12. Were supposet o be there on 10/12 at 8am and showed up at 10:30 after a phone call asking where they were. Their comment when I called was "Well is it a big inconvience if they aren't there on time". My answer was "yes, I have several dogs that have to be kept inside during the painting and this is another couple of hours couped up for no reason - and they knew we had dogs and had told us they HAD to be inside during the entire project'. They had estimated that their TEAM would come and do the house and prep the porch in 1 day and finish the porch by 1/2 day on day 2. Their TEAM consisted of 2 people that took 4 days to do the work. The 2 people worded hard, but there wasn't a TEAM, there was no concern on the companies part that my life and my dogs would be couped up for 4 days. The 2 people that did the painting were the best part of the entire experience, they worked hard - just didn't have any TEAM to help them When I was sent the invoices - I was sent 3 different invoices by email all with different prices and none match the original price I was quoted. I was then sent an email on10/16 (job was finished on 10/14) stating my payment was overdue by 1 day and that it was subject to late fees already. I wrote back and told them about the invoicing errors going on and they said that was 'impossible'. I emailed them the original quote and the wrong-priced invoices so they could see the confusion. One invoice was lower and 2 were higher...... They said they would look into it and then said there was no late fees going to be applied but that they have over $67,000 in outstanding bills that are unpaid and this is the stand they have had to take. I had asked the painters if I should give them a check and was told 'No, the company will bill you'. They certainly did - several ways. I printed the original quote and paid the bill immediately. - never hearing from them again as far as the bill went. Oh, the original warrany I was told during the quote was for 5 yrs if you went with the more expensive paint, and the one that came with the invoices was for 3 years. When I inquired about this , I was told that their warranty are never more than 3 years, even though I bought the most expensive paint to get the longer labor warranty. To make amends they did give me an extended warranty. The paint on the house/porch has several places where I am not satisfied, but will not contact them after such an experience. Also they weather has now turned too cold to paint and will be too cold until spring and my 3 month 'inspection' time will have expired.

Response from Patriot Painting Professionals Inc
This report is very much deserving of a response. There are several "inconsistencies" within it that we can contest very effectively. We keep track of all correspondence. In the end, we lament having a dissatisfied customer. Our system automatically sends a "late" notice after seven days of nonpayment. This is how it has been setup from the beginning. The "late" notices are not intended to offend, threaten, or cajole. They are written politely and professionally and are intended to serve only as a reminder. In this case, all was well and until this customer received the 1st late notice. Then a completely different personality emerged. What we can attest to as a fact is that the wrong warranty was indeed sent to this customer. When she made us aware of this error, we corrected it immediately and sent her the correct one.

Went very well. The crew was careful, prompt, courteous and friendly. I appreciated that when the paint match I approved looked less like a match on the house than in the can they stopped to double check with me. I was glad to have the chance to get the paint remixed before the project was too far along.

The job is finished but we don't know about how long it will last. we have to wait and hope.
Description of Work: It has been a long wait. The job is still not done yet. Will let you know whether rhe job is good after more than a month for job to be done. The job is suposed to start on 10/23/2012. Job is not completed yet. We were disappointed so far: 1. 10/23/12,The weather was forcasted that the day would rain and snow. When the person called for the schedule, he would not paint unless the weather was good. 2. 2 crew members came, my hsuband was told by the leader that they would only prep the house and they would not paint it till the weather was good. 3. Anyhow, they went on painting all the sidings of the house after my husband went to work. When I confronted the leader of the crew, he said that the paint would dry before the rain came in the morning. 4. Unfortunatedly, the rain came approx. less than 2 hours of the siding painted job. Needless to say, the house was wet with rain. 5. I called the office number. He told me to check the paint job in the rain to see weather if was OK. I told him he must be joking.....in the rain?????? 6. After I called, Shortly, the rain turned into snow. 7. Today, (10/27/12) the crew came again approx 8:15 am with the weather still freezing about 30 degrees and the roof was still covered with more than an inch of snow. I went out to talk to them and the crew leader told me that he wanted to finish he job. I told him flattly "NO" because the paint would not cure right plus the snow melts, the water will get in the trims while they paint. He got on the phone and left without informing me what was going on. 8. So far, this painting job has been a stress for me as we still don't know what the out come the paint job would be when is finished` and when. If they would have waited for the good weather, everything would be more smoothly. 9. Pleasse DO Not PAY them till you hear from us.

Response from Patriot Painting Professionals Inc
This was an Angie's List Big Deal and another disappointment experience. Our crew and our Project Manager complained of confusing instructions from this homeowner to both complete the job in a hurry and to not continue painting because of the cold. When the crew had to postpone work due to the weather she got angry, when they painted in cold (but still an acceptable temperature of 51 degrees) she complained it was too cold. The crew had to follow her instruction about when to work and when not to work extremely closely which delayed the completion of the project. In the end the project was completed properly, the customer signed the Final OK which stated that they had closely inspected the work and were happy, and the project is protected with an extended warranty that will cover anything the cold weather may cause.

Alberto looked at my ceiling and said he would send a painter the next day. This was a sorry situation. The painter he dropped off to paint could not speak English. I did not know until trouble came.. Although this man could paint very straight edges by hand (no tape) I could not communicate with him. I pointed out the water spots on the ceiling and asked him if he was going to cover them with Kilz or some similar product. He could not understand and simply painted over them. Of course the paint did not cover. He also painted right over cracks in the ceiling without fixing them first. And he somehow thought that I would get him fired. I felt so sorry for him, poor man. This was not fair for him or for me. When Alberto came at the end of the day to pick him up, I showed him the spots and cracks. He said not to worry he would fix it. When he returned he painted over the spots again (I could still see them) and said he didn't have time to do the cracks then. He said he would come with his friends and do the cracks on the weekend. He never showed up and I'm still waiting for him. If I want these cracks done before Christmas I'll have to call somebody else, I guess. Not good.
Description of Work: Living room ceiling was painted as per Alberto.

The crew of painters arrived in early afternoon to begin painting. They moved the outdoor furniture from the deck, spread tarps and commenced painting. They asked me several times how I liked the job as it was being done. They came the next day to finish the job/ The men were friendly and polite. When finished they took me around to inspect the job and changed anything I did not like. All in all, I did believe that the painting job was excellent. It took several days to have my furniture replaced because the deck took longer to dry. They did not pick up their tarps for several weeks.
Description of Work: This company kindly set back the day of painting several months for me because of the death of my sister which happened when I should have had my house painted in April. We appreciated that so very much. They painted the whole outside of my house in the colors I picked out. They painted my deck also.

Miguel contacted me and we went over the work. He paid a site visit and made notes. We set up the schedule, which had to be updated because of weather, but that was not a problem, and they arrived on site exactly when they said they would. The two-man crew arrived at 8am on Wednesday morning, did all the prep, which was considerable, very quickly and were done at the end of the third day. At the end I did a walk-through. We found a few weather-related bubbles which they guys fixed right then and with good grace. Miguel was in touch with me on Monday to see how things had gone and has followed up in email to make sure I am satisfied and to let me know if I have any problems, I am free to contact them. They did well.
Description of Work: Miguel, the owner, is extremely responsive and follows up well. He sent a great, hard-working crew who finished a bit of cement work, prepping my house and garage, and painting in three days. They did a very nice job and asked me about things they weren't sure of, which was nice because I didn't end up with any surprises. Miguel had also gone through my requests and briefed his team, but there are always little details. I liked my two-man crew. I'm not sure how they did it all so fast and well, but they did. Unobtrusive and very polite gentlemen. Thank you for a great experience and a beautiful paint job.

The project started with a estimate visit. The estimator was very professional and provide a very accurate description of the work that needed to be done. He also understood we were really looking to extend the life of our siding for a few more years. He was very responsive to our questions and followed up with use twice while we were making our decision on a paining company. Once we chose Patriot we were visited by a color consultant. This proved to be a great experience and completely changed the direction we were going for what colors we thought we wanted. She did a great job of helping us pick colors that would go well with the brick on the house, which covers 90% of the first floor on the front of the house. The color scheme she helped us get to looks great. This was one of the most beneficial parts of the service they offered. We scheduled our paint project for early October fully knowing that here in Colorado the weather might be great or might not be. As it turned our our project was delayed twice once for snow and once for wind. The crew leader and project manager did a decent job of keeping us informed on timing and delays. Finally it came time to paint... The crew was on site first thing in the morning and ready to go. We provided water and electric for the power washing. They also did a lot of work of making sure things that I had not thought to move were out of the way before they began. This included even cutting back some trees and shrubs that were in their way, and they fixed my chainsaw to do it! :) They completed the painting job in one day. Did an excellent job. There were a couple places, primarily on some wood around the second story windows that was more weathered, that didn't quite get covered by a single coat. I contacted the project manager and after a few delays because of weather and the like they came back out and did a second coat on the places that needed it. The house looks awesome and we have received a number of compliments on the colors and the look of the house. They did a fantastic job and I strongly recommend them for any painting you might need!

The bid Patriot Painting was in the ballpark with others. I appreciated the coordinaor they sent out to help us select the right colors. No other company offered that to my knowledge. Our home has taken on a like new appearance and we were very pleased.
Description of Work: Patriot Painting performed very well. They started when they said they would and worked around other contractors that were supposed to be finished with our project when the painting was to begin. They power washed our home, repaired many areas where we had hail damage, and their workman were very ambitious and pleasant to work with.

Patriot Painting was very professional from start to finish. They gave a good estimate working with me to make sure that what I needed was done, and they even followed up after the job was finished to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. The crew did a great job of power washing and painting making sure that everything was covered and looked the way I wanted it. I highly recommend Patriot Painting.
Description of Work: Patriot Painting power washed the exterior of my home and the detached garage and then painted them both. They also worked with me to make sure that the one side of my garage that sits on the property line could be painted when it was convenient for my neighbor to let them on the property.

Here's the summary: - Difficult to communicate with the painters since they didn't speak much english. - Scraping and prep work was NOT thoroughly done. I had to call the Patriot office to ask the painters to do a better job scraping the peeling paint, and even after that it was only a little better. - They caulked bare wood and then applied primer rather than the other way around. I questioned this and they said that's the industry standard. I don't believe them. - They did not set ANY nails on the siding. - They did a lousy job of protecting windows/bushes/deck from paint splatter. I emphasized that I wanted my new deck covered well. They SPILLED paint on the deck twice (not just splatter), and on several window screens. Most of this was cleaned up but I am still finding paint splatter on windows and the deck railing. - When they were getting ready to spray the paint, they could not get their sprayer to work and had to ask me to borrow some tools to fix it. Very unprepared. Then I had to remind them to give my tools back. - Their sprayer leaked oil on the walkway; they would not have cleaned it up if I didn't say something about it. - The job took twice as long as they told me it would. - The house did get painted with 2 coats (sprayed then rolled) and it looks ok. Here are the details: I received an estimate from Abraham after he came to look at the house. Throughout the estimating process, Abraham kept mentioning how important prep work is to completing a good paint job. He said there would be a crew of about 4-5 guys to do my house plus a foreman that drives around from job to job to make sure everything is going ok, and it should take a little less than a week. The price was higher than some of the other estimates that I received but I decided to go with Patriot due to the strong scores here on Angie's List. The painters showed up on schedule but there were only 2 painters, not the 4-5 crew that the estimator mentioned, and one of them spoke broken english, the other spoke no english at all. I walked around the house with them, pointing out the major problem areas, and emphasized that I want everything covered, especially the deck that was recently built. As they started "prepping" the trim, I noticed that they were not doing much scraping of the old peeling paint, and then they were applying caulk to bare wood, rather than putting a coat of primer on first. I asked the painters about this but it was difficult to communicate with them since only one spoke a little english. I called the Patriot office and the project manager said that applying caulk to bare wood and then applying primer is the way it should be done, and that he would have the painters scrape a little better and then check with me to make sure it looked ok. They did ask me how the trim looked prior to painting, but the areas that I pointed out that still had peeling paint seemed to be painted anyway without any additional scraping. Part of what sold me on Patriot was their emphasis on prep work; this part of the job was very disappointing. After inspecting my roof from the summer hail storms, I'm finding areas on the trim that have bubbles and I'm sure I'll need to call Patriot back to redo it next summer. Once the trim was completed, they got the sprayer out to begin the body. They spent a couple of hours trying to fix the compressor/sprayer and then asked me if they could borrow some tools. I gave them what they needed and finally they got the sprayer working, but it leaked oil on my walkway; two big spots in front of the front door. (They placed my tools in their truck, I had to ask for them back at the end of the job). None of the windows were covered and only minimal drop cloths were used underneath the area they were working. Again, I asked them to protect the area better and they said they would. They sprayed a coat on and then rolled another coat of paint on the body. They seemed to do a thorough job applying the paint and the old color did not show through. The windows never got covered and there were several screens that had paint drips and most have paint splatter. As they were rolling the paint, they twice spilled paint on my deck, despite my asking to protect that, especially. They immediately cleaned it the best that they could with only a small trace of paint remaining. The accent color was the last to apply. We wanted the accent applied on the small trim board directly under the roofline. They brushed this on, but only on the outfacing part of the board, not the bottom of the board. I asked them to paint the bottom of the board as well (the thin part parallel to the ground) and they refused saying it would take too long and they always only do the outfacing part. It took them about 9 days to finish the house; I was told less than a week, but then again they also said there were going to be 4-5 people working on it, not just 2. I never had a foreman come to my house to check on the work either. The paint on the body of the house is ok, I guess. The house looks better than before, although I'm not sure of the longevity of this paint job. They applied 2 coats of paint, as they said they would, and painted all areas as discussed during the initial meeting with Abraham. However, I'm pretty sure the trim will need to be redone within the 3 yr warranty period. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. From the painters not speaking english, to the poor preparation, to the sloppy and careless workmanship. I will definitely try another company next time around.

The estimator showed up exactly at 12pm, which was our scheduled time. He gave a thorough estimate and provided me a ball park on the spot along with a written estimate by the end of the day. The price was very good, and with the coupon offers and positive reviews on Angie's List I went ahead and hired them for the job. Miguel called me a couple days before the project was to begin just to confirm the details and make sure everyone was on the same page. He then sent a reminder email with a description of the work to be performed. Communication prior to the arrival of the crew was fantastic. On the first day of the job, the crew showed up on time and were quite friendly. We reviewed the project and then they immediately started their work. Throughout their time at my house they were very communicative. Overall the crew did a great job painting and with the cleanup at the end. I was definitely happy with their work. Miguel called me a day after the job was completed to ensure I was satisfied. That was a nice touch to wrap up the project. I will definitely use them again.

They did a great job! They were incredibly nice and they priced their coupon too low, so the company asked me if they’d be able to charge me extra for prep-work. Other estimates that I received were so much higher than their price.

We've had our home painted in the past, and Patriot by far exceeded any of the other painters we've had. The quality of the work is excellent and the painters were very courteous and professional. They went above and beyond, and were very concerned about doing an excellent job. Would highly recommend the company.

The bid process was very quick and efficient, communication was very good about the start date, painters did a great job, they cleaned up everything very well. Some minor confusion about payment (I thought I could pay the head crew guy and had a check ready), but he couldn't take the check. It wasn't a big deal, I just paid online that night since I was going out of town on a business trip, but having the process be clearer would have helped. In any case, they really did a good job, and I've gotten lots of compliments on the house. I would definitely hire them again.

The process from the first call was very smooth - from the original estimate and contract, through scheduling and painting of the house. My only complaint is that after the painting was done, they NEVER requested payment for their services until we got an overdue notice in our email. We paid immediately, and would have paid prior to the notice if ANYONE had requested payment. There is one place that they did not paint ? under a cable box. I may have them come back. I would use them again without reservation, but was just upset that no one had requested payment before they send a past due notice.
Description of Work: We contracted Patriot as part of a hail damage, insurance claim in Castle Rock. They painted the entire exterior of our house and changed the original colors.

Description of Work: they had do do a lot of soffit repair due to a roofer nailing through them. they fixed an end cap and painted in the colors we already had.

Project went "almost" flawlessly from Bid to Completion. The company and employees were professional and considerate through the whole process. The job was beautifully done at exactly the cost that was quoted. The only issue that I encountered was the color choice for the body of the house. Although I was explicitly clear that I wanted the body of the house to match the new garage door that I had just installed, there was a bit of confusion when the painting crew showed up to begin work. It took us a little bit to work through the details of what needed to be done which delayed things by a day. Even with this problem I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Patriot Painting. Life has a way of throwing us curve balls, and it's how you step up to the plate and respond. Miguel and his crew worked through this issue with Professionalism and consideration and got me exactly what I wanted and it looks great.. These guys knocked it out of the park. I couldn't be happier.

To start we had to get three different estimates before they covered everything we talked about. I guess that should have been our red flag but it was the best price we had for the job so we went with it. They started on time and said it would be two to three days. Because of the age of our house we had lead and decided to stay at a hotel with our animals for the first two nights while the sanding and scraping was going on to be safe. This was a waste the job took over a week and they did not even start on the front of the house till Friday (they started on Monday) and that was where the bulk of the work was needed. We were going to pay an extra $500 to have some woodwork restored but that was never done. The columns are worse now then when they started. They taped off the house on Wednesday and then did not show on Thursday (they had van trouble) showed fora half day on Friday and did not take the tape off till Tuesday, so after a week on the house we are still trying to get the residue off our drains. There is overspray on our blond brick we are still trying the get off and they broke a window in the attic and replaced it with new glass witch would be fine but all the other glass there is original and it sticks out like a sore thumb. They also did not tell us they broke it, a neighbor told us. They damaged the siding on a addition. So in the end I will have to replace the siding and the 12 small attic windows, clean off overspray and tape residue and get someone to restore the rafters and columns on the front porch. I send a email to Patriot Painting after the work was complete with photos and concerns and have not to date had a reply (sent on 9-6-12) almost a month ago.
