First visit, within hours of my call, MZ Electric resolved a wiring error created by a furnace contractor, and got the air conditioning running ($68 total for the visit). I asked for and obtained a great estimate for replacing the old service panel. This panel replacement was done promptly and expertly. Then the very knowledgeable, experienced, and enthusiastic electrician (Justin) traced and mapped all the circuits in this older townhouse (Villas Marbella, SE Denver), and helped us find and resolve several problems and confusing issues that have developed over years of amateur efforts. These problems were investigated and resolved quickly and at no charge above the amount we had agreed upon for the panel work. We found MZ to be everything you could hope for in a service company--knowledgeable, quick, fair, interested in solving our problems, and personable. We will definitely call on the again when we decide on more work.

Did a great job. There was a confusion about the price but the company honored the verbal price

I spoke to the contractor and explained that I had a problem with one recently-installed AFI breaker associated with a new addition to the home that was constantly tripping. He explained that it could be as simple as replacing the breaker myself, but I stated that I wished to have someone come out anyway because I was uncertain the previous contractor had done the work correctly. It was fortunate I did have them come, because there was actually a broken neutral in the box that was most likely causing the problem. The electrician repaired that, adjusted some other incorrectly-done work in the box, replaced one breaker, and added an additional breaker (I wanted to have the new addition on a separate breaker). He was very friendly, and explained what he was doing and why. When it came time to pay, I found they used PayPal, which was very convenient. When the electrician forgot to apply the Angie's List discount to the bill (I hadn't noticed), the owner proactively contacted me to make the adjustment. Overall a great experience, and this contractor is definitely on my favorites list for future work.

I want to first state that I am a very discriminating customer, make my choices wisely, and I'm fanatical about details, high standards and neatness. MZ Electric fit the bill great. The Lead Technician, Kevin showed up on time, was extremely polite, professional and best of all very knowledgeable. He looked over my work, immediately knew the resolution and explained everything in detailed technical terms I had no problem understanding. He ran a second new line from the upstairs switch to a new junction box near my terminated connections. He was done in less than 45 minutes and the results were nothing short of spectacular. The final cost came in noticeably less than the rough estimate I received over the phone. I have a few more electrical projects in mind and I now have a new tried and true Electrician I can count on to do the job up to my strict standards with the best possible results. As a Technical Professional myself (Telecommunications), I highly recommend MZ Electric for all your residential electrical needs.

Fantastic experience. Keith was always upbeat, positive, energetic about his craft, and open to talking about ideas and problem-solving. Very professional, focused on doing a great job in a very timely way. An example of this was that an assistant who'd worked with him on the job was just fine in some ways and certainly pleasant but made some mistakes and created some minor snags or didn't follow through with getting some of the tasks done. After a few of these situations, Keith wound up having to fire this guy. Never a fun thing to do, but we appreciated his devotion to making sure the job got done right. We did have to remind Keith about one or two minor items on the punchlist on a couple of occasions (not a big deal, certainly), and we wonder whether it was because he got spread too thin when getting his jobs covered after letting this guy go. In any case, the attitude was always 'how can I get it done right, fast, and in a way that suits you?' We had quite a bit of work done and we think the price was very fair for what he did. Another one of the contractors, who was doing plumbing on the job, never met Keith, and is very experienced in a lot of remodel jobs saw the product of all the rewiring of the circuits, junctions, etc., to the service panel and said, "Wow, these guys actually did it right." He said that most electrical he sees isn't done at that level and that it's nice to see when it's done with that kind of integrity. That was reassuring! We would certainly use MZ Electric again: the quality, price, attitude, and promptness are all spot on. Very pleasant to work with!

Excellent response time, fair pricing and quality work

This was a big and complex project. We expanded two concrete patios with new overlay, installed 9 brick piers, one light post, and ran a gas line for a fire pit. The system also had 3 paths. We hired a contractors to dig the gas line; install gas fire pit, demo, pour and overlay concrete, lay brick, and move the irrigation system. The electrical work had to be done between demo and before the concrete was laid, this required the company to 'work in' with other contractors for a major patio project. Between demo and pouring of concrete, it was necessary that all of the contractors work together and often at the same time. This was clearly explained at the beginning. Mr. Lynn expressed willingness to do so. Unfortunately his assistant bitterly resented having to work around and with others and complained using profanity when there was time pressure. Everyone knew going in that the timing of the concrete work would control and the assistant's level of anger and resentment was in sharp contrast with the attitude of all of the other job site contractors who worked well together. As with any project, there were minor changes as we went along. The assistant was especially incensed about any changes, even if a matter of inches. After the second day, I frankly did not want this assistant anywhere near my house. The work done was more than $1000 over the original bid, which excluded installation of light fixtures. The light fixtures were not installed as I had shipment delays. Mr. Lynn is very charming in person but again his assistant was just the opposite and we were stuck with the assistant. Overall we felt that he took advantage, especially when he arrived to finish the plugs and light switches after the concrete had been poured without scheduling an appointment. At that point, I was ready to fire him but did not have the chance as I was out of town and could not be interrupted the entire day. Also the gap between the bid and the work done was also clear in that he was able to take advantage of the other contractors? work in terms of not having to dig a trench from the wall of the house and under the sidewalk, as originally anticipated. Most of the conduit was laid under the new concrete which also reduced the trenching that would have otherwise been done. While I was happy to facilitate the project, it is not fair to say that we expanded the scope of work to warrant another $1000. We paid but I will never use this company again.

He did what he said he would do when he said he would do it and he charged a fair price. He did a good job doing it.

Completed the repair in a an hour and a half. Worked efficiently and was able to analyze and repair a very tough electrical problem using a step by step process. Keith Lynn knows his stuff and was very pleasant to work with.

Outstanding!!! I hired him to do work on my mother's house, so all communications were done by phone and e-mail. After looking at the fuse box, he noticed some additional problems and made suggestions for correcting the problems. He gave us all the information (including websites) to make an informed decision, without putting any pressure on us to do the extra work. He was very professional. He also helped my mother with some small projects with minimal charge. While visiting my mother to put up new shelves in the laundry room, I called him several times to get advice on how to avoid the electrical wires and plumbing pipes. He was very responsive to my phone calls and gave good advice. I would definitely use his services again, and I have already recommended him to friends

Keith gave me an estimate over the phone and made suggestions for rewiring a light switch. We scheduled an appointment. Joe arrived on time and I explained what I needed. Joe had another idea for rewiring the light switch and I agreed with his idea. He worked efficiently and cleaned up after himself. I'm pleased with the results and will use MZ Electric again.

Keith, the owner, came to the house a few days before and gave me the estimate for the work we wanted done; he included the Angie's List discount without being asked. He told me that Joe would come on the day to do the install and that Joe would be there at 8am. At 7:55 Joe arrived and went right to work; he did not need to be reminded of what we wanted done. He worked neatly and quickly. We were 100% satisfied with every aspect of this job and will use the company again.

Keith was pleasant, intelligent and professional. He assessed the work, gave good advice on what to do and what to skip, got all the parts I needed and completed the work quickly. He was awesome and I plan to refer him to everyone I know who needs an electrician.

I came home from work to find that the electricity was out in half the house, including the refrigerator. I called Keith at 6 PM and he arrived around 7:45 PM. He was able to isolate the refrigerator circuit and got the refrigerator going (saving all my frozen meats!), but it was too late at night to finish troubleshooting the rest of the circuit. He came back (on time) as scheduled first thing Wednesday morning. Keith traced back all the circuits until he found the problem. While troubleshooting the bad circuit, he showed me how two GFI plugs (that had been installed before I bought the house) were not installed properly. I had him reinstall those two GFI plugs. Keith also installed a new exterior electrical plug and a whole house surge protector at the circuit box. He found the problem was an ancient porch light that had shorted out. Keith installed the new front porch light. Keith was on time, very professional, very thorough in his troubleshooting, and cleaned up thoroughly after his work. Considering that he spent an hour on Monday night and 5 hours on Wednesday working (I was here and he was not slacking - He went through the whole house before we got to the unlikely cause, the porch light), I think the price is very reasonable. I will be using Keith and MZ Electric for all my electrical needs from now on and highly recommend him.

Appreciated confirming appointment several days prior to date. Arrived at the time scheduled. Work was completed efficiently. Cleaned work areas.

I had a dark master bedroom. Keith suggested a lighting design, and suggested alternatives for me to consider. He gave his opinion on what would look best, and the result was spectacular. He also installed a infrared light over my soaking tub. He chose appropriate timers, dimers, and fixtures. The bathroom and bedroom were left spotless after he finished. The price was very reasonable for the work performed. He is the only electrician I will use in the future.

I called Keith on a Friday afternoon and he agreed to come out later the same day in order to accomodate my busy schedule. He arrived right on time. He listened to my description of the problem and suggested a couple of options for repair. He worked quickly and I found his price to be reasonable. He treated me courteously and respectfully. I would recommend him and will use him again if I have a need in the future.

All work performed well and quickly. In addition, Keith offered free consultation about other electrical projects in the house and referred me to a plumber.

I needed an electrician to complete this job quickly and efficiently as we had some built-in furniture being installed on a strict deadline. The floor outlets were originally located under the footprint of the new furniture. Keith was prompt in answering and returning phone calls. He came out the day after I called to review the job and to provide a quote. He originally scheduled for the following day (only two days after I originally called him!), but then called and asked if the appointment could be moved by one additional day. That was fine with me and I appreciated the prompt notification. On the day of the work, he arrived on time and quickly completed the task. Because the outlets were being built into the front face of the new furniture, he came out a second time to finish the installation of the outlets. On the first work day, he also wired for a ceiling fan with a wall control unit. Previously, we had a fan but only a remote control unit. Lastly, Keith spent time talking with me about future projects and provided ideas and suggestions to save money or to get a better product. I will hire MZ Electric again for future electrical projects.

Keith is very nice and professional and walked me through various options for lighting and correcting my switch issue. He even found a faulty flickering jack and repaired it.
