I called MZ Electric for a quote to run wiring to 2 upstairs bedrooms for ceiling fans and to install them. I was quoted $400 over the phone. Said they do average of 8-10 of these a week. Tech arrived late, but called ahead of time to say he was running behind. Then brought in a couple extra guys so the job got done on time, if not sooner. And they honored the price I was quoted. No surprises. I should have opted for the dimmer switches instead of the toggle switches, but happy with the work they did. Will use them again.

Prompt estimate, new service panel installed and wiring installed promptly. No issues.

The electrician did all the requested work in a rather short period of time. He made suggestions when I asked for his opinions. He was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely use MZ Electric again and recommend them to my friends.

I purchased two hours of time through AngiesList and the job was completed in 1.5 hours. I was particularly pleased when he asked to check out my attic access so he might save us money on wallboard (ceiling) repair. I didn't think he could reach the area from the access point in another bedroom but he persisted and got there. Thank you, Kevin, for your fine work, attention to detail, cleaning up after the job and caring about the quality of your work. The installation is perfect and the queen of the kingdom is pleased. I felt you went out of your way to crawl through tight spaces in 140 degree heat through fiberglass insulation in order to do a job you could be proud of. I am.

We found MZ electric on Angie's list and purchased the special they had going. We were not disappointed. Keith, the owner, was very responsive and professional. They were easy to work with to coordinate a time for the job, performed the requested tasks efficiently and effectively and provided good recommendations for the repairs. Their price was very reasonable and I would definitely contact them again for any electric work we need in the future. I highly recommend them.

Everything went really well from start to finish. When I first made the call, the young lady gave me an est. and set my appointment. She called back about an hour later and told me that it shouldn't have any problems. That was great service.. Thank you.. What I didn't expect was that two service guys came out. Kevin and Ron, I think that was his name.. Both gentlemen were very knowledgeable and friendly. I was charge $80.00 with 10% off for using Angie list. ( Kevin ). The second ( Ron ) man was $54.00 for 40% off. They both finished in about 10 minutes time, one outlet apiece.. I think one man could have finish both outlets in 30 minutes or sooner. I shouldn't had to pay for the second man, when Kevin could have done it one hour or less..

Sean arrived on time and fixed the problem within minutes. He did not have the correct dimmer switch in his truck so he came back at a later time and installed the switch. There was no labor charge for the second visit, only for the parts. He was very helpful and gave some great advice for other future projects.

I purchased 2 hours and needed another 3 hours to complete the work. Cost for some materials supplied was reasonable. Kevin was great and he did quality work. 5 hours seemed a little long, but we ran into some challenges with the track lighting.

The MZ team arrived on time - 7am for what had been quoted as a 2-3 hour job. Originally it was one electrician for 3-4 hours, but when the new light fixture was added to the scope and a tall ladder was needed, for "safety" reasons two electrician had to come out. I was requoted 2-3 hours for the work with 2 electricians (which equals 4-6 man hours). I was given the Angie's List discount rate of $80/hr/man (which would equal the job costing $320 - $480). All the details for the work were given over the phone and an estimate provided. - Hang entryway light fixture - Add 4 outlet to unfinished basement - Add 1 light to unfinished basement When the electricians arrived, I walked them through the work that needed to be done. One of them went to the truck to get the big ladder to do the entryway light. The other said he needed to go to Home Depot to get the parts for the outlets. He left while the other guy hung the light fixture all by himself. The second electrician at $80/hour that was required for safety was not even on the property when the fixture was hung. At 7 months pregnant, I was the one standing there holding the ladder in place while he did his work. They did notice some issues with our electrical box and the previous home owners had someone rework it incorrectly. They said it would be quick and easy to fix a few things while they were moving things around in there for the new outlets in the basement. I was surprised at how long the project was taking and checked in on them several times. One guy was in the basement, the other was outside by our electrical box and on the phone with his office. The work that was supposed to take 2-3 hours, beginning at 7am, was taking much longer - and without any regard to the estimate they gave me. I returned home after work to find a $1,000 invoice on my kitchen counter. We had (Kevin) scheduled to come out at 8am the following morning to give us an estimate on some under cabinet lighting, so I asked him about the invoice. His response was that the person in charge of estimating has incorrectly estimated the work and they had also forgotten to add a $100 charge for the ladder they brought out, so the invoice as actually $1100. Although they did good work and seemed knowledgeable and professional, we will not be using them for any other electrical work in the future. And we never got an estimate from the owner for the under cabinet lighting he specifically came out to look at and measure (on May 14th).

I used an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. There was an additional charge of about $89 because we had to have some of our outlets pigtailed. This was the first time I used this company. They were on time and the person who came seemed very competent and efficient. He also was polite and professional. We thought the estimate on the ceiling fan installation was a little high so we decided not to go with them.
