I thought the process went very well. Matt McConnell came to our house to give an estimate on just replacing the wooden sidewalk and the estimate was reasonable so we expanded what we wanted done to make all the pavers the same for the entire yard. Matt suggested several different pavers and styles and made other suggestions he thought we might like. He also suggested we check out the actual pavers at Borgerts in Denver. Dave at Borgerts was really helpful. Leonel and his crew started work on Saturday removing all the old stuff and clearing the ground for the new material. His crew worked very hard the the job was finished the following Wednesday. The crew was back on Thursday to make sure everything was clean and cleared to our expectations. We are very pleased with the end result. I would definitely hire them for more work I have planned for the future.

Matt showed up on time and the day that was expected. He gave the area a good looking over and we discussed what I wanted. He gave me a written bid/proposal right then, which was reasonable and in line with others that I had gotten. The only downside was at that time they were scheduling 8-10 weeks out. I would have liked to use them, but that was just a bit too long. I would not hesitate to call them again in the future and recommend them to others. I know they would have done a wonderful job.

It went very well. The workers were all very professional. They were hard working, courteous and friendly. What else could you ask for?

Work was done promptly and the yard cleaned up before they left. they couldn't find the exact pavers (old pavers were 16 yrs old) but did find a fairly close match. Only issue I had was they didn't tell us ahead of time that the pavers wouldn't match. Not really their fault but would have liked to have that info prior to starting the job. Would definitely use this company again.

From the beginning everyone was extremely professional and helpful. All emails and phone calls were returned promptly. When they showed up to do the work there was a large crew that worked very efficiently to prep the area and to pour the concrete. Every person that come to my house to work was professional and very nice. They all smiled, said hello, and were very polite. Upon leaving, they took time to explain the care I needed to complete for the patio and also answered any questions I had. In addition, they did and excellent job cleaning up the area. I would highly recommend Affordable Concrete.

I emailed Robert and explained what I wanted done. Robert called be back the same day. I told Robert I would email pictures of the walkway and asked if this is something they could do as previous contractors told me the job was too small. Robert was very responsive and we scheduled for time for him to come out and look at the walkway. Once onsite, Robert asked questions to better understand what I wanted done. I also wanted the downspout that was under the walkway rerouted. I voiced my concern that the downspout froze every winter because the house faces North. Robert suggested that we modify the walkway so the step up is at the entry to the driveway rather than at the front stoop. That way the downspout would be more insulated and could be rerouted per my request. Robert gave me the estimate in writing and said we were looking at June 11th for the start date. This was eight weeks out. We had an extremely wet Spring. Robert called about two weeks for the start date and said that because of all the rain, he needed to push out the work and that he would let me know as soon as he had a firm date. Certainly understandable with the wet weather. Robert stayed in touch and called the first of June to say they would start the work on the 17th or 18th. He called the morning of the 17th and said they would be there that afternoon. Robert communicated frequently throughout the process. I was never left wondering. Robert, Rob, and Bob along with their crew arrived on time and got right to work ripping out the old concrete and framing the walkway for the new concrete. Robert told me Eric would be handling the rest of the job the next day. The crew was very efficient and had finished the first phase of the job in a few hours. They cleaned up everything and left the site neat. Eric and his crew arrived right on time the next day. They checked the framing and asked a few questions to finalize some details and make a few adjustments to the framing. Eric and his crew were meticulous in finishing the concrete. I can't say enough good things about them. They made sure I understood everything they did and Eric walked through a couple of things I needed to do in a few days. These guys were amazing. They were friendly, obviously knew what they were doing, and enjoyed their work. I highly recommend this family owned company. I will certainly use them again.

Prompt and professional. Unlike many contractors Robert communicates and goes out of his way to manage expectations. I had a tight schedule and ACW beat it by a week. Eric ran the job exceptionally well. It seemed the crew had considerable experience working together as a team. It was also refreshing to see Grandpa out and helping with the finishing. Three generations, indeed. Work started mid day on Tuesday and they returned Wednesday mid day to pour and finish. Price was reasonable. Concrete is still curing but I would say the quality of the forming and finish seem very good.

They were professional through and through. The estimation process was handled well, and we understood our choices. I believe the price was reasonable. This is not a discount operation, and they stated clearly that they don't take shortcuts to save a few dollars. They brought an experienced crew that did all aspects of the work with precision. The started and finished on time. The workmanship was excellent and we're very pleased with the result. We would recommend Affordable Concrete Work to anyone needing these services.

Robert was very responsive to a request for an estimate, arrived on time, and was extremely friendly, professional, and courteous. He was receptive to all the ideas I had, but also provided suggestions based on his experience and recommendations. We wound up following his ideas, since they were based on longevity and home foundation protection. He explained every step of the proposal, why and how ACW preps and executes the job, including honestly answering questions we had about other contractors without being condescending towards them. His bid was the lowest by several hundred dollars, and Affordable Concrete Works has by far the best reputation in the Denver area for their field, so we went with them. Robert warned ahead of time that he would not hesitate to push the project start date back based on weather forecasts. Our project was moved back two days due to weather, but we were very thankful that ACW insisted on this to ensure a better end product. The crews were very prompt, polite, and professional. our sidewalk looks fantastic, and we would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to all friends and family. Great work!!!

The job went excellently. The work was completed as scheduled.They were able to meet my request to take the path around some existing trees without damaging them. The communication during the project was very good. The finished product was just what I requested.

If I had a sense of humor about it all, I'd call it a comedy of errors. Our old patio was higher than we liked, due to the previous owners having built one or two patios on top of the old ones, rather than ripping the old ones out first. We contracted to have the thick old one removed and replaced by a lower patio. We also agreed to pay extra to have the new patio stamped and colored. The document we signed and initialed denoted all of this. Affordable was the first contractor we talked to and we were so impressed by their demeanor that we didn't even get quotes from other companies. This was a BIG mistake. The tear-out of the old patio went smoothly, although they ended up charging more for it. The original quote they gave us had said that if they found more layers underneath, we would be charged an extra $750 or so. However, they ended up adding on an additional $500 on top of that. What were we supposed to do at that point but agree? We did notice, as they were putting in the framework for the new patio, that it looked too high. Both my wife and I separately questioned them on this, but were assure that "they knew what they were doing". The next day, as they started to pour the new concrete, it was instantly apparent that they WERE building the new patio to the same height as the old patio. Even though we quickly informed them that this was wrong, they finished pouring all the old concrete. After arguing with Robert for a while on the phone, he called us back to tell us that they would fix it; he had originally tried to make it sound as though we were somehow equally responsible for the error. They would need to take it all out again, but not until the new concrete had set for one or two weeks. When they came back later to redo everything, it looked fine. They then stamped the concrete and added the dyes. There were two different dyes, a lighter one and a darker relief color. We noticed though that the relief color was not as dark as they had shown us it should be. When we questioned them on this, we were assured that it would become the proper darkness once the patio was powered washed. When they finally did the power washing though, the relief color was still not as dark as it should have been. It was only then that we were told that the true color would not come out until the patio was sealed. The problem was though, they had never mentioned that sealing the patio would cost more....a LOT more. I had assumed that sealing was all part of the process! The option of sealing the patio was never even mentioned when we were given their quote. Of course, they would be happy to do the sealing, for an additional $1100 to $1200. I subsequently found another company that would do the same work (2 coats, highest quality sealant) for only about $700. That company was also puzzled that the new patio had not been sealed as part of the whole package. They also found several areas that needed to be ground down due to sharp edges and such. Oh, one other screw-up. In the process of breaking down and removing the old patio and some walkway, they damaged some of the siding on the house. I was the one who noticed the damage. They never bothered to say anything about it until I brought it to their attention. Initially, they tried to get away with telling me that the siding was already damaged before they start, which was a total lie. (I was having some other siding work done due to hail damage elsewhere, and only the day before the siding contractor and I had looked over that area...no damage) They finally admitted that they had done the damage and agreed to reimburse me for the repairs. You would have thought that, as soon as their worker had caused the damage, they would have immediately informed me of it. But no, they didn't. The patio looks okay, but only time will tell if the actual quality of the concrete and workmanship is good. That is why I said "N/A" for quality. If that turns out to not be great, I may return to this review and update it to "F".

A complete re-grading of a large patio was required to re-direct drainage towards the street. Contacted Robert earlier in the year for an estimate. He was prompt to return messages throughout the process and provided an estimate immediately. Due to unexpected work being done to the exterior of the town-home by the HOA, the patio project had to be delayed until October. Robert and his crew showed up on schedule and performed the work as requested. His crew was friendly and the work area was left clean. There was a late change to the project due to a restriction imposed by the HOA and Robert was very accommodating in working with the new information. Overall they performed the work as requested and Robert and his crew were easy to deal with and were informative throughout the process.

After calling Affordable Concrete Work for an estimate to replace my driveway, front sidewalk and front porch, Robert Hoffschneider came out immediately. He was very thorough in his inspection, his explanation of what needed to be done, and his written estimate. I was very impressed with Robert's knowledge and professionalism. After agreeing to his estimate, he gave me a date a couple of weeks out, and told me he would call about a week ahead of the job date to reconfirm. His call was right on time. When he showed up to start the job, his grandfather and father were with him, along with his crew. Robert explained exactly what has going to happen and everything went according to schedule. This group of men are very knowledgeable, punctual, professional and worked very hard for three days to meet the schedule Robert had laid out. I never had to wonder what was going on. Robert had given me his cell phone number and let me know I could text him as another way of contacting him. Whenever I did call or text him, he was very responsive, very thorough in his communication and went out of his way to meet my requests. After the job was complete, another gentleman, Eric, explained what I needed to do like when I could walk, drive on the concrete, how important it was to compact dirt around the edges to the cement to avoid future problems with water. And the final job cost was exactly what Robert had quoted originally. There were no surprise additional costs. The job was done well and on time. I have more cement work in my backyard and have already asked Robert to look at the job for this upcoming Spring. If you are looking for a great company to do concrete work, do yourself a favor and call Affordable Concrete Work for an estimate. You will not be sorry. They made sure I was happy and the job they did for me turned out beautifully.

Overall, great company. Very professional and worked with me very closely. I had many questions since our slab/road base was a large area and Robert returned all of my calls promptly. The estimate was a fair price. There was an area behind the place where the 2nd driveway was to be completed that ran along the side of the house that had road base put in. I am very pleased with the drainage slope away from the house. The slab is great quality and the finishing part of the job was taken care of with great detail and care. Every step of the way Robert let me know the details. I am a very picky person, and generally my husband and I do all the work on our house ourselves, but I am glad I chose this company and reading other reviews off Angie's List. I would use Affordable Concrete again and have already referred them to all my friends.

Affordable concrete rebuilt my steps on 11/22/2013. The Steps are different heights, although the estimate shows three steps of equal height, we have three steps of equal hight and one shorter step. It was emphasized that the step reconfiguration was to aid my 90 year old mother. The walls where the steps were reconfigured are very rough and have gouge marks in them, we cannot affix stair railings to them. The concrete pad is asymmetrical. The sealing was never applied although we paid for it. Cash payment was required to start the work. The work was completed on 11/22/2013. I spoke to The estimator on 12/9/2013,1/6/2014 and 6/9/2014.The work has not been fixed. Tom came out twice but no repairs have been made. We will have to pay another contractor before we can install the metal railings for my Mother. Can you afford Affordable Concrete?

They showed up right on time both days (day one was demolition of the old one and prepping of the new; day two was pouring of the concrete, sealing and finishing up). The staff is nice, polite, and straightforward. We are pleased with the process and so far with the results (it is dry but we can't use it for seven days).

It went great. They're professional, timely and they have good quality service. I would use them again in the future.

Tom and ACW were unbelievably responsive and easy to work with. They refused to leave until we were 100% happy with every aspect of the work they did. Every project will have a challenge or two...whenever we ran into something unexpected they took the bull by the horns and simply said and quot;we've got you covered and we'll get it taken care of.and quot; Most importantly... they delivered every single time and without nickel and diming us with charges for every unexpected thing they ran into. There is absolutely no way you can do better than these guys! Work was great, price was fair and Tom (our project mgr) was available to us via text anytime night or day. I don't think I ever had to wait more than 10 minutes for a response...including while he was on a family vacation. Don't spend anymore time searching for the guys to do your project. Just pick up the phone and call these guys. I promise you won't regret it.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! Met with Tom for estimate, and he emailed me back that very day. Pricing was not the cheapest, but extremely competititve. Tom answered every email I had in a timely professional fashion, and that is why we decided to use ACW.The end result was better than expected. great craftsmanship, excellent cleanup, and Rob came by to the final walk through and was very thorough. i would use ACW again for four next project, and will not hesitate to recommend them to ANYONE who is looking. A+ thanks guys!!

Affordable Concrete showed up at our house bright and early the first day and completed the work in a timely and professional manner. They made sure I was happy with the job before they left on the second day and came back after the cement was dry to remove the boards. I was very happy with their professionalism and hard work! There was a crew of several employees and they all worked hard getting the job done. I would highly recommend them.

They were expensive compared to the other companies we called up. When they came over, we had a misunderstanding on how much the project would possibly cost. The job was good except when they were done, somebody walked in the driveway and there were footsteps on it. It was just odd because they knew the driveway was wet but then we saw a few footprints which we ended up fixing ourselves. That was the only thing I could say negative about them.

I would call this company a team with perfect timing. It's taken a while to write this very positive review, probably because we've been totally enjoying the space of our sunroom: double-paned floor to ceiling glass panels facing south and west, a space with great potential that had never been finished, lacking a floor, and therefore not quite habitable. Our contact person from start to finish was timely in his responses and knowledgeable in his recommendations. The team was punctual, they worked well together, as a family it seemed, and they completed the job exactly as projected. At the end of the day, their professional work has greatly improved the quality of our life at home by transforming the space simply and without great cost. I will call them again with our next project, a cellar entrance that drastically needs reinforcing.

My husband has used salt for years on our porch and driveway causes it to crumble and fall apart. So when we called and asked for an estimate we were given a reasonable quote but my husband thought he could get some and quot;guysand quot; to do it for cheaper. These and quot;discountand quot; guys left our driveway a mess of splotchy patches that were uneven and discolored. Worse still, my husband had left for our new military assignment in England so I was left to pack a house, repair it, and prep it for our new renters!! I called Affordable Concrete Work and spoke with Robert's son who asked me to send over some pictures. Well he called me back right away and said they could come out and fix it, not only that he asked me how much I'd lost in paying the and quot;discountand quot; guys and then helped me make the price even more affordable given our situation. The owner, Robert, came this morning and with his team they were kind, professional, and experts at their craft!! The driveway looks amazing and I am so grateful for their services and pride in their work!! The service was fine and the gentlemen were courteous. It has been a year now and the patch that he put in just popped out. I think it was hard for it to survive because of the small area, the movement and the hot and cold climate. They were timely. I really don’t blame the pop out of the patch on the company. There was some additional charge.
