Landscape Connection

I was very disappointed with meeting Scott from Landscape Connection. I contacted Landscape Connection due to high ratings on Angie’s List and proximity to our houses. We have two properties requiring both yards to have full front and back landscaping and hardscaping; about $25k-$50k worth of work for each property. I worked with Jen to coordinate the onsite meeting with Scott and described the scope of the work. I emailed both Jen and Scott all the necessary information including the design drawing for one property and the plot plans with drainage for both properties. For the meeting we were going to discuss their proposal with pricing for the property with the design drawing and finalize the details for designing the other property, with a proposal to come once they completed the design. Scott shows up to our house and one of the first things he says is that he doesn’t know why he was there. I thought he was joking. He was not. I explained to him that we emailed him the details of the projects and what we expected. He said that he didn’t check his email and hasn’t checked it in a long time. The conversation got a little weird when he said that this meeting was really just to explain their business process for creating proposals, which was different from the conversation I had with Jen, else I would have set up things differently. I believe that he showed up woefully unprepared, realized that he was unprepared and tried to tap dance around the fact that he was unprepared. I would describe his demeanor as lost, confused and unsure. I couldn’t help but feel that he didn’t want to be there. I cannot recommend a company who doesn’t make me feel like they know what they are doing. Earlier in the day I had others contractors, who were given the same details given to Landscape Connection, show up with drawings, booklets of plants, printouts of stone types, pictures of previous work. Scott showed up his shirt, his pants, his shoes and maybe sunglasses, I don’t remember. He didn’t take the time to read my emails and prepare for our meeting. It could be that Scott is the Steve Jobs of landscaping but I wouldn't know because our meeting was no Apple Event.

The owner was out there and personally invested himself to make sure everything was right. He worked really hard to understand what we wanted and how to implement it. The bid came in on target and there were no surprises. He even threw in a couple extra rocks that he didn’t have to! We had used him at our last house so he has delivered for us before. He is able to give you personal attention.

The came on time, did the work per the landscape plans. The results were outstanding. They visited at the end of the season, replaced a few plants and fine tuned the sprinkler system. We are totally satisfied.

They were supposed to show up to give me a proposal for landscaping. The lady that I spoke with regarding the work I wanted done said that their estimator was in my area every Thursday and we set a date. They never showed up. I did not follow up with them because if they cannot even show up as promised, I want nothing to do with them.

Landscape Connection (Scott) came to our home and talked to us about what we were looking for and asked all the right questions. We worked with him on several iterations of the plan and finally came up with the perfect one. We were able to bid it out to another couple companies but came back to Landscape Connection and have been very satisfied in the work they did on our project. They tore out old plant materials and some sod, also old pavers and dead trees. They added some bushes, new mulch, new plants,new irrigation lines and sprinkler heads (water efficient), along with adding boulders etc. They created a waterfall feature from scratch and we love it! The yard now looks fully refreshed and beautiful - it's like a new backyard. We actually enjoy being in our back yard again thanks to Landscape Connection. Scott is a pleasure to work with and his team was punctual, polite and always cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Landscape Connection!

Joe did not perform any services for me. I had an appt with him for Monday, July 15th and he called to cancel that appt due to overbooking/schedule changes. We spoke the morning of and could not find a mutual time to reschedule. As promised, he called back and very candidly explained to me that he had perhaps stretched himself too thin and had other situations to deal with. He declined to do an estimate and provided the name of another vendor who could perhaps help me. I VERY much appreciated Joe's professionalism, courtesy and honesty. If I need services again, I would not hesitate to contact Joe again.

Found the provider on Angie's List because I needed some work on my pond. I left two phone messages indicating that I had found the company's name on Angie's List and a brief description of the work that I wanted to have done. While I recognize that this is the start of the busy season for landscapers, I would have at least expected a return call saying that they couldn't work me in. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Landscape Connection.

I used them last year and when I contacted them for this year's job Devan answered very quickly. When she gives an estimated date to start the job, she is very close (weather was the cause for delay) Her crew shows up on time and she closely supervises. I will continue using Landscape Connection.

They did a really good job and they were easy to work with. They did what they said they were going to do. It was a good experience.

Scott was very professional but using the "Buy it now" option wasn't even in his price range and was told my job was too small (needed some sod, minor landscaping) .. my beef is why offer a "buy it now" for $750? Crazy, its a bait & hook offer to get you to spend much more... I'm going to keep on looking... too bad.

We were very pleased with the company, Landscape Connections,(303-791-3060) and Devon Bates for overseeing the project from beginning to end. Also, kudos to Poncho and Jime for an excellent job in workmanship on this project. We would certainly use Landscape Connections for any future landscaping needs that we may have and certainly will refer their company to any friend or family member that may need their services.

We decided to do something else. It was our choice. It had nothing to do with them. I thought they did a good job. They were real polite. They did great. I thought they were great. They were prompt. They were on time. It was a great experience. I would recommend them to somebody else. It is just that our place isn't very big. She was very professional. I live in a condo, but I would use them if I had a bigger place.

It went really well. The designer came out first and discussed various options with me. The workers came shortly after that and got the work done in about a week. What has impressed me most is that they have continued to come back to check on things.

WE WERE HAPPY WITH WHAT WAS PLANTED, BUT WERE NOT HAPPY WITH THE MAINTENANCE. THEY GARDENS WERE FULL OF WEEDS, THE YARD GRASS WAS NOT IN GOOD SHAPE AND MAINTAINED.
