The two people who came from Greystone Electric Co were very good. They were very knowledgeable. They were in my house for a while and worked out to find the outlet which was not working. They fixed it. The price was extremely reasonable. One person who was an apprentice worked and the other person supervised the work.
Description of Work: I used Greystone Electric Co to check on the electrical input to my gas furnace. The fans in the blower of the furnace did not work and they worked hard to find the problem and rectified it.

These guys are the best. I this is my second time using them and I wouldn't ever use anyone else. They are super flexible. I ended up throwing them a few "curve balls" since my plans had changed since the original estimate. I called Doug for an estimate. He came over and took some detailed notes on what I was thinking. I told him I was going to supply the fixtures. No qualms. Emailed Doug a few weeks later to pencil me in for a Friday. Then I had to cancel on him only a few days out. He was very understanding. Then when I called to reschedule they were willing to bend over backwards to get the job done within my constraints. I can't say enough good thing about this company.
Description of Work: I had them do a bunch of stuff. They installed wall sconces, recessed cans, outdoor floods, fluorescents and some other miscellaneous electrical tasks.

Basically, we were told they would install the bare network cables, but would not actually terminate (actually put the proper connections on) the ends of the cables (something we have neither the tools or experience to do ourselves), which would have left us having to have someone else come in to finish the work. Why would we want to hire two contractors to do one job? Additionally, when we tried to call back and talk to them, our call went straight to a voicemail box, which said we'd get a call back within 15 minutes. Hours later...no call back. Not sure we'd call them for anything else; a contractor that doesn't return calls, and is only willing to do half the job is not a contractor we want to deal with.
Description of Work: Attempted to contact Greystone to have computer networking cable installed in our house.

I could not recommend Greystone more highly! I used them to fix some stuff when we sold our old house in Park Hill, and now I've used them at our new house in the SE suburbs. Last year, I priced them out against the other top electricians on Angie's List (they were competitive) and ended up using them mainly because they were the first to respond. Based on that experience, I called ONLY Greystone this time around-- didn't even bother calling anybody else. Doug and his partner Greg are very courteous, cost-conscious and willing to work with me to meet my requests and my needs. They offer helpful suggestions and put a lot of thought into routing cables, etc. for future expansion. Without me even asking, they made sure the coaxial connections they installed in my attic was easily expandable to other rooms; in case we want to expand in the future. They work cleanly and efficiently; and treat you with respect & patience. I've had 2 wonderful experiences with them so far, and they are now my go-to company for any electrical needs. I don't even bother calling anybody else, because I trust them implicitly.
Description of Work: They wired the upstairs of my house so I could have DirecTV installed in 2 rooms which were not wired for cable television. They relocated several outlets to make them more convenient for our every day use, and installed several new outlets in a bathroom, closet and my garage. They also fixed a problem with one of my circuits which was preventing us from using the spare refrigerator in the garage, and our exterior Christmas lights.

They were punctual. Gave a good estimate (they beat several other contractors), and did the work quickly. They were very congenial. I will definitely call them again for the next electrical project.

I was having trouble with the power in my condo, it didn't seem like there was enough voltage coming through to run the major appliances like the dishwasher, there was no hot water and when one light was turned on, another would dim. I'd called another Angie's list electrician who was unavailable to come out for 10 days so he suggested I call Doug. Doug was able to come out right away, did some troubleshooting and found a problem with the main breaker downstairs and said he'd need to go out to get a part. We met back at the condo about 3 hours later and he had the problem fixed in about 15 minutes. He was fast, friendly and honest in that he said he couldn't be sure if this part would fix the problem & more troubleshooting might be necessary even after the replacement. Luckily that turned out not to be the case. I would definately call him again if I had any other troubles.

Doug was very good at providing suggestions and advice, and said he would deliver an estimate by email in a couple of days. We did not receive an estimate. I emailed him a few days later. No answer. (I used the same email he used when we set up the appointment, so I know he answers it). After the holiday, my husband called him. Doug said that he had indeed sent the estimate, on 5/22. He would send it again, late that night, and call us in the morning to make sure we got it. We did not receive it. He did not call to follow up.

Not good. I am not sure that they know how to use email. Perhaps a phone call would be better. They may do great work but, could take a long time...or never to get them into your house.
Description of Work: Tried to reach many times and never got a bid. Finally got a bid and set a date and never showed up. Contacted again, they apologized, promised to come down and do the work if I fired them some options via email and then never got back to me.

We needed a major electrical overall in our new home. The home was built in the late 70's and the electric panel was the orginal. Needless to say, it had to be replaced. Greystone gave an estimate that approximately half of other estimates yet there was no difference in the quality of work proposed. In addition, we needed some new lighting in our family room and Greystone took care of this for us, even providing ideas of other things we could add to the room that would enhance the appeal. The ideas they provided were great and never presented in a such a way that you could tell they were trying to make more money off you. Their ideas saved us time & money and now our newly renovated room is super functional, electricity-wise. Greg & Doug are both extremely professional and we had no problems letting them work in our home while we were at work. They were even tolerant of our curious kitty! We have several electrical projects on the burner and we will definitely use Greystone in the future.

Greystone came out on a Sunday afternoon to take a look at our project and give an estimate. We agreed to use them and they were there the following morning to perform the work, which ultimately cost less than quoted. The electrician (and apprentice) were punctual, friendly, professional and clean. We will definitely be using them for all future electrical projects.
Description of Work: Another electrician installed a new dining room chandelier, which left a hole in the ceiling with a hot junction box above it. Greystone moved the hot junction box up into the attic so that the hole can be plastered, rewired 2 wall switches that run through the junction box with properly rated wire and tightened the chandelier, which was loose.

Excellent. First one of the owners (Doug) came over and walked room to room and listened to what I needed done. Then he submitted an estimate to me by e-mail. A couple days later another owner (Greg) came over with his apprentice and did the work. It matched the estimate. They were on time, polite, and even cleaned up after themselves with a little vacuum cleaner!
Description of Work: I had dimmer switches installed in 3 rooms, a foyer chandelier taken down and a new one hung (19 feet up), and a dining room chandelier taken down and a new one placed. I also had some switches changed so the shape was consistent with others in the house.

Greystone Electric Co. was really good. The electrician was very responsive and very helpful. He had charged me not a minimum, but for his actual work time. If he had done a 45-minute job then he would charge me for 45 minutes. We could tell that he knew what he was doing. There were several things that had puzzled others earlier, but he knew just what was wrong and had corrected it. He was also good at explaining things to us.
Description of Work: We had used Greystone Electric Co. about four times. They did a lot of electrical work in my garage like running power out to several areas inside it. The electrician had also run some other lines inside the house in the basement and also to some other rooms. He installed some outdoor outlets and lights that included security lights. All the work took place in a HUD home that we bought in the summer.

They did their usual fine job! Doug didn't have the correct bulbs and lost one of the screws. He said he would return the next day with those materials since he also had to replace a timer for us. We went out to dinner and when we returned after dark, there was Doug installing the bulbs and a new screw!! He said it was bugging him, and he wanted to get it done. This is a great company to deal with. They don't always show up just when expected, but they get the job done, going out of their way to make sure it's done well!!

Doug was incredible. He spent a good bit of time troubleshooting, because the fault ended up being in the power company's meter box. Once he traced the problem all the way back to the meter, he repaired the problem very quickly. He also let us know that, at some point, our breaker panel would need to be updated - without giving us a sales job.

Doug was prompt in coming to our house. He installed a ceiling fan in our master bedroom. There was already electrical hooked up, however, the wall switch was a real mess and he fixed that to make it work properly. A ceiling fan in another bedroom was really messed up, had to have light off to run fan or had to have another light on to run fan on medium speed. Doug rewired the fan and switch, now it works perfectly. We thought we were going to have to buy a new ceiling fan, but he saved us money on that. The bedroom we use as our guest bedroom had no ceiling light and no wiring running to ceiling to even install one. Doug ran the wiring and installed a lighted ceiling fan, which works great. In AL, we were used to having lighting in all of our closets. In this house there are no lights in bedroom closets (except for the Master closet). So, Doug ran wiring, installed lighting and a switch outside each closet. It looks and works great. Finally, we needed a boost to our breaker box, so Doug added us more voltage in the box (I'm not sure I'm explaining this correctly, but what he did will protect our house from fires, surges and blowing fuses). Doug is so professional. He cleaned up very well and left everything immaculate. We will definitely use Doug and Greystone again when we remodel our master bath.
Description of Work: We recently moved from AL to Centennial, CO. The house we bought needed some ceiling fans, ceiling lights, closet lights and an upgrade to the breaker box. We had several electrical companies come in for estimates. We researched with friends, on Angie's List and decided to go with Doug at Greystone Electric. Doug came out and looked at everything we wanted to do. He made suggestions, which my husband (who is a professional engineer) thought were very good. Some were additions and some were subtractions from our ideas. But everything turned out perfect with a very reasonable price.
