Work was poorly done. Kevin had ghosted after calling several times and texting to finish the pending work. As a last recourse had to call the credit card company to claim a charge back. That got his attention and he came and still lied on face that work is complete and was not completed. Has sweared on several occasions. Ideally doesn’t deserve even single star but no option for that & he at least showed back to finish the work (after the chargeback). Initial scope of work was to install egress & an additional window, he said he can help with other general contractor work & gave him to extend some of the duct works for A/C and bathroom vents. Issues encounter, paid deposit in April, no show of windows till June end. Egress window got flooded had to drain by getting a sump pump and connecting the pipe. Air duct was never sealed and whole summer the A/C air was leaked from the new cut out they did. New vents cut out for bathroom ventilation were not sealed. Windows were not sealed after installation. Egress window cuts clearly shows light passing through the concrete cuts.

We got 5 proposals from 5 different companies when starting our project of finishing the basement. I liked Kevin a lot when we spoke. I liked how knowledgeable he was and he seemed genuine. Then I saw a very negative review and reconsidered. I spoke to Kevin and he said the reality was very different than what the poster had claimed. In the end we decided to go with our gut and we hired Kevin and Classic Remodeling. Overall the quality is very good. Communication and responsiveness excellent. Right on budget, not charged anything more than what was agreed to. Timing took longer than first proposed, but we understand when working with subcontractors, it is difficult. Kevin did many things above and beyond for us. Any concerns we have had, he has addressed quickly. In fact, he has been paid, but still a lingering issue with a drain and a couple of things and he is just as responsive now as when we owed him money. I am not usually impressed with services anymore, but I have been with Kevin and Classic Remodeling. I would use them again a thousand times over.

Kevin finished the basement in our house and added two egress windows to keep us up to code. Pricing was fair, work was completed on time and there was clear communication throughout the process. Definitely recommend!

You know those nightmare contractor stories you hear about from time to time? This one takes the cake. On 17 July, we agreed to pay Century Exteriors Ltd. and a man named Kevin Drake $23,128.25 for a new roof to be installed on our home. We were told that the roof would be installed to code, and to industry standards. As far as we knew it, we were working with Kevin Drake to install a roof on our home. We told him that we needed to pay for a portion of the roof using a credit card. He said that was no problem, and he processed the charge. After we realized defective construction work (missing sections of decking where the roof shingles were now sagging) 13 months later, we asked Kevin to come over and take a look. His immediate response, after inspecting it was, ?What do you want me to do? Rip the whole thing off and do it all over again!?? We asked him to fix it and he said he wouldn't because we were ?out of warranty.? We reminded him that Colorado Statute requires general contractors to warrant defects in workmanship up to seven (7) years. He still would not agree to fix it. We then asked the owner of a different, yet highly reputable roofing company to let us know what our options are. He stated that we could simply make repairs to the part of the roof that was installed without decking, but that doing so would permanently damage all of the other shingles of the roof. The only proper way to fix the issue is to completely replace the entire roof. It was at this point that we disputed the credit card charge in an attempt to recoup at least some of the money we paid, so that we could hire someone else to install the roof correctly. Lastly, it appears that another company named Allied Building Supplies, allowed Mr. Drake to process the charge against our credit card on their credit card system; a clear violation of Section 1 of the Visa Acceptance Guidelines for Visa Merchants, titled ?Getting Down to Basics, Visa Rules?: ?Deposit transactions only for your own business. Depositing transactions for a business that does not have a valid merchant agreement is called laundering. Laundering is not allowed; it is a form of fraud associated with high chargeback rates and the potential for accommodating illegal activity.? Additionally, he never finished installing the gutter guards we had already paid him for, and one of the two skylights he installed leaked multiple times causing thousands of dollars in damage. Predictably, Kevin Drake tried to blame these things on something else that had nothing to do with it. In the end, we had to pay someone else to completely replace the entire roof and roof gutters, as well as to re-install both of the skylights. A project that was supposed to cost about $25,000 ended up costing us over $50,000. BUYER BEWARE! KEVIN DRAKE IS A LIAR, THIEF, AND SCAM ARTIST!!!
