Rich and his crew were terrific. Punctual, responsive, and professional at a fair price. Customer satisfaction is his number one goal, which he achieved. Will use his services again, no doubt.

The work is to stain a wood fence for $850, materials included. Rich told me roughly two guys would work for about 7 hours. Well, it was done in 2.5 hours with two guys and I wasn't happy with the result. We expressed our concern on the quality as well as the fact that half of the stain was left unused. Rich got really defensive and at several points quite rude in his emails (to be fair, we may got rude too in the emails). Anyway, after some tough negotiations, he was willing to add another coat, which was done in 1 hour with three painters the other day. A few comments: Rich does try to make his clients happy and we appreciate that, though sometimes the communication with him could get tough. Another thing is that the sub-contractors are only listening to Rich while Rich is not onsite when the job is being done, so the communications are not very efficient, and misunderstandings can easily happen.

Juan did a fantastic job on our cabinets. I've had many compliments on how great they look. He arrived on time, worked all day without supervision and cleaned up before he left. We would definitely use this company again.

This was a great project. The painters showed up on time, were exceptionally professional, did an excellent job, and even stayed a little over the time I had paid for in order to finish up just a few more things. All in all a great deal.

Rich worked us into his schedule and sent over an incredible painter, Juan,to take care of our project. His work was wonderful and detail oriented. I was concerned about how fast one painter could get the job done, but he was amazing. Courteous, clean, fast, and thorough and took care of everything we requested quickly and professionally.

I was extremely pleased with the service and the quality of work. We were getting our house ready to sell and we needed to paint a couple rooms, a hallway and window trim. We didn't have time to do it ourselves and contacted a number of painting services. Rich was very responsive and was able to complete the work in our time frame. There were a couple of touch-up pieces we pointed out and it all got taken care of quickly. A week later we had a stager come through and she recommended that we paint the front porch. Again, we didn't have time to do it ourselves and we were hoping to get the house on the market that week. I contacted Rich and he was able to get someone out the next day. They completed the work in a day and it looked fantastic. I would recommend Rich's service to anyone looking.

Rich Lyons was such a big help to my efforts to sell my condo quickly! He worked around my schedule and his painters are terrific. Quiet, thorough - they just painted until it was finished. It was great! The crew was very friendly and professional. Rich was easy to work with. The job overall is beautiful. They covered all the windows and any areas that should not get painted so there was no paint where it should have been. It has been a few weeks since the job was completed and we have not noticed any issues or things we would change. Our house looks fabulous!

Rich Lyons is friendly and affable as long as everything goes his way. He was very inflexible with time, not only in when to meet, start the job, etc., but when the final touch up phase was postponed due to a delay in carpet installation, he became irrational and verbally abusive, making outrageous demands. We had already paid him over 90% of what was due and followed our part of the contract. We finally paid him off just to get rid of him and had our resident manager handle the final touch up. I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS MAN!

Working with Rich Lyons was really easy. He was prompt and came by our rental house to give us a quote on painting the entire interior and also just the main entryway where the walls were really high. I felt his quote for both jobs was pretty reasonable. In order to save money, we decided to just have the difficult job of painting the entryway done. This included the walls going down to the basement. Juan was the one man crew to come to our house and do the job. He was there pretty much all day. He did a very good job. I would definitely hire this company again.

Pretty spectacular. The owner and crew were very pleasant and everything was beyond expectation. They devised a way to rig up plastic drop cloths to catch any paint drips. They cleaned with acetone, sanded with TSP and applied the paint by hand. There was a minor color issue when they started and both the crew and owner took care of it without even being asked. In a world of over-sell and under-deliver these guys renew your faith that a job can be done right.

Two brothers, Travis (and I apologize I forgot the other name -- should have written sooner) arrived on time, worked for 7 hours as we had purchased on Angies list deals. Completed the work professionally with clean up. Rich came by and checked on them, brought supplies and interacted with my husband and me. They did a great job and we are very satisfied with their work.

It was not even on time, he arrived 15 - 20 minutes earlier and he was really profesional. I didn't notice that he was even working. the job was done quickly and spotless.

Josh showed up on time, assessed what needed to be done and jumped right in and accomplished all of it within the 8 hours paid for. Not only did he complete the job, but he didn't leave a drop of excess paint anywhere and the quality was top notch. At the end of the workday, Josh cleaned up any mess and hauled the waste of paper and paint brushes out with him. We will call A Brush With Success again to meet our painting needs!!!

My husband and I just purchased a definite fixer-upper and had started painting. We got as far as priming the kitchen and decided to hire a pro. I found Rich through Angie's List and contacted him to get an estimate of how long and how many people it would take to paint a few rooms in our house. Rich came out to the house the next day, took a look around, and said he'd be able to get me a quote by the end of the day. The quote he gave me was amazing and included paint! Rich recommended Sherwin-Williams for paint so my husband and I went to the store down the street and picked the colors we wanted for each room. We set up a date for the work and Rich and Josh showed up on time, Rich went over the job with Josh, and Josh got right to work. He finished the 4 rooms we wanted in 2 days, and a couple of hours on a 3rd day. We have paint leftover which is great, because we're having new windows put in soon, and we'll be able to use it for touch ups. Speaking of touch ups, Josh did a great job patching holes in the walls prior to painting, and every nook and cranny looks wonderful! Rich came by on the final day to look around and double check all the work. Rich and Josh were both a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be using A Brush with Success for any future painting needs!

What a bad experience. I just wrote a check for $20,500 to make him go away, so this work was not inconsequential. The painting was fine and $4,440 of stain looks nice, but this would have been much better if Rich Lyons was an honest man and either did not oversell in his bid of what preparation would be done on the doors and trim or could have civil conversation about changes in scope. The trim and doors will require re-work to get to a professional finish level, but I tired of dealing with Rich and will need to have someone else complete that work. What was very disappoint in dealing with Rich was that he seems to think being a jerk is a way to avoid loosing money when he does not complete what was included in his bid. In our case he bid that primer and two coats of paint would be applied to the trim and doors. Also that he would fill all holes and perform professional preparation of all surfaces. Additionally included in original scope was painting about 15 cabinets and shelves in a few rooms. When the two coats were not applied and we elected to not have the cabinets painted, we were expecting something fair in an adjustment to the billing. Unfortunately you are not allowed to question Rich (he said it was good enough) then started in with threats and attempts to try to run his billing for a host of fabricated items to offset what he did not complete when I suggested an adjustment amount. It seems that his approach is to sell you and bid one scope of work and then have his sub-contractor (the actual painting crew that does the work) do less work, such as in our case they did not prep anything and only applied one coat of paint....that is he intentionally tells them to not do what he knows he bid. That seems to be the same experience others have had and it was very evident to me in living through this and talking with the painters (my Spanish is a little rusty, but not that rusty). Overall he starts out nice enough and gives you a nice sales job to win the work, then gets a little grumpy as the work starts and you begin to question why things are not being done as he bid, but at that point you stuck with your family displaced and trying to get done. Finally if you try to have a discussion about the final bill and he moves into being an unprofessional, unethical, and threating jerk, so rather than mess with liens and small claim court hassles you just pay him off and move on. It seems to be his business model, which I messed up and didn't read all the Angie's list F reviews and would have known...my mistake. For those who have also wasted time and energy dealing with Rich I feel your pain. I am finally done with him. Good riddance. (If you need a good staining team contact Gabriel who he uses directly at 720-336-1445 and save yourself the hassle and cost of dealing with Rich. He also does painting and unlike Rich he was highly professional and I would be happy to recommend him and his team)

Rich and his crew were very professional and did a great job with our project. It was refreshing to have a contractor be prompt and polite during the process. The dates and times of when they would be here were communicated well and they were always prompt, which I appreciated. All of the painting went very smoothly and they left everything very tidy when finished. Would definitely refer them to others and hire them again.

This is my third time using this company. Every time they do a great job. Usually I hover over workers to insure that they do quality work. I'm VERY picky. But with this company, I never have to hover. The work is always quality. Punctual, tidy, quality trim work, edging, clean-up. You can not go wrong with this company.
