SavATree - Lakewood

We just had a large cottonwood tree removed (approx. 80' tall and 90' in from the street).Our arborist Scott Scholz from Savatree did an excellent job of coordinating the city, the crane service, and Savattee crew in getting the tree removed. All came together within a half hour on removal day and was completed in 7 hours. The tree partially covered 4 homes and was damaged in the May 2022 snow storm. With Scotts analysis we all agreed it was time to remove. Thank you Scott and your assistant Liv Duesterberg for her great support. Dave & Bette W.

Appreciated the reminder calls before they came out to do the lawn. Good at leaving a card explaining what was done after each visit. Like the fact that you can get different types of chemical treatments from very eco-friendly to more intensive. Good service and fair cost.

Way over priced for what service was performed, incomplete damaged limb removal and they wanted to charge an additional amount to finish the job. Previously used Mountain High several times before it was bought by SavaTree but will not use it again.

We got a number of estimates with a wide range of prices and some could not provide service for 3 weeks. Mountain High was able to provide and good estimate and could cut in 2 days. They arrived on time and were finished and completely cleaned up in just over 2 hours. They were polite and worked hard. In summary, the entire experience with Mountain High was EXCELLENT.

I called them to schedule doing tree trim work given they had ratings in my area. They informed me they cannot do any work for at least 3+ months. Also that they have reduced their work areas and may not even be able to do work in my area now. Don't waste your time calling them...

We have used Mountain High for about 10 years. We continue to reduce the number of services we have them perform because of poor customer service. The past several years, we have been on their monthly plan for application of bug barrier (to protect the home from insects) and to spray for weeds in areas other than the lawn. Normally, things go off without a hitch and their technicians are easy to work with. Unfortunately, yesterday we got another technician who was uninterested in doing a good job and spent about 4 minutes applying both treatments. In reality, the bug barrier was not applied to the house perimeter, as it has been done in each of the past times, but at best was only spot applied to areas of unimportance (not by the windows or doors). Unfortunately, I could find no evidence of any application; typically it takes about 45 minutes to dry. Nothing was still wet around the entire perimeter of the house immediately after the tech left. When I called the office to complain, I was told by Chris that he would look into it and call back. When he called, he explained that the tech said the weeds were sprayed. I told Chris that I know that, that I called to complain about the bug barrier. He said he'd call the tech again (Loftin) and call me back. He did not. I called office again the next day and asked to speak to a manager. Debbie did not pass my call through but listened to my complaint. She said she would look into it and call me back. She did within the hour but I was told that the treatment was applied. I explained that we had this service performed numerous times over the past several years and that after each one, it was wet around the perimeter, but not after this one. She still insisted it was applied and that we still owe $45 for it. This is not the first issue I raised with this company, but it will be my last. EACH TIME I HAVE CALLED TO HAVE THEM RESOLVE A PROBLEM, I AM TOLD THAT THEY DID EVERYTHING FINE AND THEY CANNOT DO ANY MORE. Of four times I have called about a problem, they have responded all four times that they did their work fine and would not do anything more. In none of those times did they ever come out to look over the work. Basically, when they do the work, it's not bad. It's a bit high priced, but not too bad. But if you ever call to contest something, know this: THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG. There are too many other providers of these services for me to continue cutting them slack for poor performance and terrible customer service. This was the final straw.

They did an outstanding job trimming and shaping our trees. We have used them previously and will again in the future.

I like them a lot. I have used them for several years. They have always been nice, and they have done a good job. The more I use them, the better my trees and lawn seem to be doing.

I have been a Mountain High customer for several years. Understand that normally I get great results and service from them. This is my first review for them and it comes at a time when they finally tripped up. This review only reflects this latest visit from them.Mountain High did a thorough job with application, ensuring that nothing was missed including small areas that could be easily overlooked. It dries quickly and causes no issue for pets as long as it dries before letting your pet outside. The lawn revive application seems to be rebuilding grass in shaded areas where it had been receding each year. My only issue with them ever related to this past visit is that it is a reapplication. I was told at the time they came out to give me an estimate that they would come out and apply these every 4 weeks, and that if weeds reappear between applications, they would come out and apply it again for free. They scheduled the first application for April 1. After 5 weeks, I had a lot of weeds. When I called, the front desk insisted that reapplication was supposed to be every 4 to 6 weeks, and that the 'free' reapplication only applies if the original application doesn't work after 10 days (which is NOT what the guy told me who gave me the estimate). So on the 7th week, they finally came back to reapply (I'm sure only because I called). I am waiting to see how they handle the next and quot;4 weekand quot; cycle before I decide whether to just do the work myself.In summary, they have always done great work. I am hoping that this last visit and the resistance from the front desk was just an anomaly.

I requested in writing an estimate for lawn aeration, with a possible interest in one application of fertilization and/or weed control, a potential interest in a seasonal or annual multi-application package, and had also indicated other areas of specific concern. It took several days to receive a response. Normally this would seem reasonable, but I had received three other quotes within 24 hours of my request, so the industry standard appears to support a much faster response time. The quote I received had all of two lines on it - a and quot;Conventional Lawn Programand quot; for $240, and another line with a price for aeration. Included was a pamphlet with their various programs (minus prices), indicating that the one program the estimator had priced for me is five applications of fertilizer and weed control. This did not address my needs or concerns, did not provide any pricing information whatsoever except for these two items, and moreover, the quoted cost is more than the stated cost on their website for this same package, at $225. The website price is for lawns under 4,000 sf, and my lawn isn't even half that size.Perhaps someone looking for lawn service would have better luck with this company if they have the time and/or ability to make a specific appointment to meet with the estimator. I'm not sure if this is an option; the voicemail message I received indicated that someone would eventually be out at some time over the following week, but left no indication at all of when or that I could be present for it.In summary, if this company can't answer my questions or address any of my concerns prior to my becoming a customer, I'm awfully glad we found this out now and not after signing a contract or pre-paying for services; especially paying for services that are offered at a lower price online. Happily, we have found a company that was prompt, professional, reasonably priced, and addressed all of our questions and concerns (thanks to Angie's List!)

I called Mountain High for a irrigation service call. When I called, I clearly advised that I would like a quote for service to which I was told an appointment would have to be made. I set up an appointment--which was over a week out. The day before the appointment, I received a call from Mountain High to remind me that an appointment was pending. I asked when I could expect the service appt and was told that someone would show up between 11am - and quot;wheneverand quot;.... The day of the appt came and the repairman called and said he was on his way to REPAIR the system. I informed him that I first needed a quote for the work to make sure their prices were adequate. He sounded confused and hung up. A few minutes later their office called me and said they do not provide quotes for service. I told them that I knew exactly where the irrigation system was damaged, so a quote should be fairly easy to provide--and would require no digging or work on their part. They still declined. After waiting a week for the date of the appt, an appt window of 11am - whenever, and the only company I spoke with that does not provide quotes I can honestly say that I will never use Mountain High and would encourage others to avoid them.Any company that does not provide a quote for service has something to hide in my opinion--and in the professional opinion of many contractors, etc.

Jason drilled 2 very small holes in each of my very large Ash trees for the injection process. It went very fast. The trees took up the liquid quickly. While the process went on, Jason answered my many, many questions about the EAB infestation and his experience with it and the Pine Beetle outbreak. I have pine trees as well. His advise was very useful.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and they were in and out in about 20 minutes. They were here about two days after we purchased the deal. They knocked on the door, said they were here and then knocked again a little later saying they were done. They came on time and I hardly talked with them. They were good.

It turned out fine. It worked very well. I've used them before, so I was happy with the service. They call and schedule appointments and then call again that they are ready to come out. So they are pretty prompt and courteous. They did a good job. They are professional and friendly.

The crew was at my house earlier than the appointment time. They knew exactly what needed to be done and worked to the estimate in a swift and professional manner. Surprisingly, they made very little tree cutting noise. They picked up all the twigs and cuttings from their work. I have had tree companies before and was not very satisfied with their work. A trim is a trim is a trim and other companies have left the limbs too long and past years suckers attached so that they hung over my yard and the yards of two of my neighbors. Mountain High did the trim completely the way I expected a trim should be. This is the second time I have had them do tree work; once on a rental property and was completely satisfied that time as well. I will continue to call on this company.

I had two other companies come out and give me estimates too. This company was more than double the price of the other two. The first estimate was from Donovan Arborists and it was $1340 without the Angie's List coupon. The second estimate was from Tom's Tree Service and it was $1210. Mountain High Tree and Landscape $2855 to do the same thing. All three are certified arborist, so its not like Mountain High has any more expertise that the other two have.

They did a good job. Scheduling was good along with the whole experience.

They arrived on time and had two machines doing the work. They got the job done in about 30 min. I did not have time to go check to make sure that there were plugs taken out. I then water every day to help make the seeds grow. I went out a 1 1/2 weeks later to check and there were very few plugs taken out and no signs of new growth. I called and told them and they sent someone out to check. When he arrived he told me the plugs were probably already compacted back in the soil. He ruffed up the ground and put some new seed down. I still haven't seen any new grass.

I am a new home owner and never paid for this service before. My grass did not look good, so I wanted to talk to the person who came out about possibly getting a lawn plan going, so I wanted to schedule a time when I would be home. They told me on the phone that I did not need to be here, but I insisted upon it, so they agreed. They told me that they would be out early in they morning. They ended up not coming till after 1:00 pm and only after I called asking what was up. When they did get here, it was a crew of two guys and one gave me a sheet saying what they were going to do while the other got started. I went upstairs to change my daughter's diaper and by the time I got back down (10 minutes max) they were packed up and gone! I never even got to ask any questions. I'm no expert on lawn care, but I have a hard time believing that a quarter acre lot with front and back yard can be fertilized and have weed control treatment properly put on in 10 minutes. I know it was only $45 I spent, but you'd think they would at least want to make a good first impression. I'll be looking someplace else for lawn care next year.

I was very pleased with the service provided, and would have given an A due to the great job the company did cutting down my trees and hauling off the trees and brush. However, I bought 3 coupons worth $200 of service each. The service rep told me that, as a result, $600 would be deducted off my bill. After the work was performed, the office informed me they would only honor one of the $200 Big Deal coupons. I should have been informed of this prior to the work being done.

Gentlemen that came over were punctual and quite nice. The only issue that I has is that the week kiiller they used did not kill the weeds.

We the initial work done a year ago (July, 2012). At first, things were great. The person who came out (Tom Trench) told us how we could make things better on somewhat of a budget, which is exactly what we were looking for. We had to remind him of a few things he had said to us in person, which were not included in the paper work, but everything ended up getting done. They did an OK job. The company uses it's own mulch, and we felt that it was used a little sparsely, but it was good enough that we didn't say anything. Our yard definitely looked better overall, but it didn't blow us away. About 14 months later, I contacted Tom Trench again because we were selling our house and we wanted to add more mulch (which we were obviously expecting to pay for). Tom could not have been more rude about it. He basically said I should just be contacting the front desk about this, and acted like I was wasting his time. He also seemed frustrated with my questions to him about the mulch and how I could attain some. I was taken aback by this response. Clearly, I was not going to spend a lot of money this time around, but I was a previous customer, and expected to be treated with respect. I also asked if we could find a match for the mulch at Home Depot, and he balked. We ended up finding a great match there. Overall, my experience with this company was not stellar. I realize a lot of that had to do with one individual, so others my have better luck.

Very professional and personable. They made sure all items (that I forgot to move out of the way) were safely out of harms way so that nothing would be damaged. The back yard, where service was performed, was nicely cleaned up; twigs, leaves, and small branches were swept up and taken away. I was impressed with the customer service the company performed from start to finish and will recommend them highly to my friends and neighbors.
