The Deck Guy (Colorado). I needed a deck refurbish and refinish job on both my upstairs and downstairs decks. Barron responded quickly, came by and surveyed the work to be done, advised as to my best options and quoted me a fair price and fit me into his schedule with minimum delays, Less than 2 weeks later the crew showed up to start the job. The crew foreman was highly experienced, and I had confidence in him and Barron to tell me what needed to be done and some other things that would probably not benefit the job. Barron was highly professional, communicated well and was a straight shooter overall. I would recommend The Deck Guy without reservation.

After looking for a deck replacement for over a year, Barron and his crew provided the best price by far (had some come in at over $40-50K for the exact same design!). Don't think for a minute that we got a low-quality, budget deck - we got a beautiful composite with metal railings, solid stairs, and gorgeous post and step lighting all for half the price of the others. Last minute change in design? Not a problem. Demo and removal - done in one day. Build time was good with a very professional and caring crew (our dog, Finn, will miss them!). Barron stopped by or called several times to check on progress and my satisfaction. When a few minor clean-up items were pointed out after completion, he eagerly offered to send the crew back out to make sure everything was perfect when he could have just popped smoke with the check. Overall, couldn't be happier with the end results and the price. Highly recommend this business if you don't want to get fleeced by other contractors.

It looks like NEW as it did after their past work. That’s why we again called The Deck Guy. The workers who power washed, prepped, and re-stained our deck were knowledgeable, professional, and consistently demonstrated their commitment to us as customers. The weather was often too hot or too rainy and it messed with the schedule, but we were promptly updated. You tell the quality of a work team by how they interact with each other. Regardless of which tasks or who were are on-site it was always a great team. The quality of the worker surely comes from the values of Barron. He’s the owner and he’s The Deck Guy.

Very Professional and delivered everything they promised. Had them out to do some repair and stain the entire deck. They got it done as promised and left the job cleaner than when they started it. Even helped move heavy items out of the way for us. I would recommend David and team for any deck work I or my friends have in the future. Truly a 5 Star Company.

David was very responsive. He addressed and resolved any potential quality issues that I brought to his attention. Overall excellent job.

I'll get right to the point. I highly recommend this company. Previously, I randomly hired two guys to re-finish my deck and they used a product (Restore) which has garnered a number of negative reviews on various homeowners web sites. It took the Deck Guys crew two full days to remove this totally unacceptable product from my deck, and they used another stain (Behr) which made my deck look great. I will definitely use The Deck Guys once again when my deck needs re-finishing.

You get what you pay for. I didn’t really come in contact with the workers, but they left behind a whole box of nails and they were very sloppy in terms of clean up at the end of the day.

Dave was great to work with and offered ideas beyond what other firms were suggesting needed to be done. Larry did fantastic work and completed to satisfaction.

Gave the owner a sample color paint but he send a different one. They have to come back and repainted, however, the color blend gave a different color as originally agreed. Workers washed their brushes on our lawn and is still burn in the spots they used. It is really giving us work and money to bring the lawn sport back to life.

They never returned my phone calls (x2).

I really appreciate his willingness to take something on at last minute, his professionalism and quick communication. Next time we need work done, I will certainly call him and recommend him to others.

He was nice and punctual on estimate appointment. He was helpful with all my questions. His quote was very competitive and I would be comfortable using him... when and if we get around to this project!

I got a prompt quote from one of their two main guys to have my front and back decks restained. The previous homeowner had not stained the deck in over 5 years so it was in desperate need of sanding, power washing, and staining. The sanding and washing was done in 1 day and the staining on the next day. My back deck is ~350 sq ft, so it is pretty sizable. They use Cabot stain products which are highly rated by Consumer Reports. The stain on both decks came out looking great. There was a very small brush length where the stain didn't seem as well applied as the rest of the deck, but after one phone call they swung back to my house to touch it up.I like that they hand paint the stain on instead of using applicator pads like some other companies do. I would definitely use this company again when I need my deck re-stained in 2-3 years.

He did a nice job and was very diligent and thorough

He was fine. He was fairly priced and reasonable. He did a good job. He called me back right away. He was really very attentive.

I received a estimate of $400.00 to power wash and paint my deck of 300 sq ft. The date of service was to be Monday 8-13-2012. I took the day off work and waited and waited. No call, no show. Today, Wednesday 8-14-2012 my 6 yr old grand daughter was playing in the living room and went running to get her mother saying there was a man outside on the deck. My daughter ran to the window and asked who he was and to identify himself. They were scared to death. None of us had any idea he would be there today and I sure do not want hime since he did not bother to call on the scheduled date.

Everything went very well. We were pleased that they could come out as soon as they did. We did not see Roger he just talked tous on the phone and gave us an estimate. The guys that work for him are the ones that came out.

Dave was very professional and trustworthy. He gave us the estimate in the fall of 2009, but due to weather, he had to wait till spring to get the work done, which was fine with us. He had someone else (a really nice, hardworking young man) do the work, but Dave came by several times to check up on things. I asked him to do a few extras for us...a couple of steps and a railing which are on the other side of the house. They took care of this without charging any extra. Since my insurance company had paid to have a second coat put on my deck and yet, the finish used is only supposed to be one-coated, Dave agreed to come back at the end of summer and do a wash and second coat the deck. Once or twice, there were some things I thought weren't done thoroughly. As soon as I brought this to Dave's attention, it was taken care of right away--no questions asked. We were very happy with the job done on our deck.

He did not know building code. He subcontracted the project out to someone else. He has poor communication and he gives promises that were unfulfilled. He has poor workmanship. I had to buy new materials to replace the materials he ruined along with hiring another contractor to complete the job. Avoid if at all possible.

Took a little long to get to us, but that is because the weather has been extremely wet and they can't work on wet decks. Estimate was very reasonable for all the work that was done and the work quality was good! I would use them again no problem, something I can't say about any other deck maintenance person we've had.

SCHEDULING WAS A LITTLE DIFFICULT AS THIS IS A SMALL COMPANY AND WEATHER IS NOT ALWAYS COOPERATIVE. HOWEVER, WHEN THEY DID CATCH UP THEIR WORK, THEY WERE QUICK AND EFFICIENT.
